About Pietro's Italian Restaurant
Welcome to Pietro’s of Lodi, a newly renovated, modern Italian restaurant that serves rich flavors and authentic cuisine. Since 1957 the proud family tradition of serving great food lives on with favorites like hand-tossed wood-fired pizza, homemade ravioli, and authentic minestrone with homemade bread. We offer dishes such as Veal Saltimbocca, Cioppino and Eggplant Parmigiana. The menu is also complimented with a Catch of the Day special and our Italian Dinner Party. Our homemade desserts of cannoli, tiramisu and biscotti are made fresh daily. The final authentic touch is our on-site herb and vegetable garden patio where one experiences the true fresh taste from farm to fork. It gives one the feel of a "meal with mama" on Sunday afternoon in Italy! Come and meet the owners Jim and Annette Murdaca personally, as Chef Pietro Murdaca continues the family tradition from the kitchen.

Pietro's Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Wasn’t told at time of reservation that it was a special set menu for Valentines. The usual menu items were not available. We asked if we could substitute vegetables or salad for the potatoes and were told NO! Very unfriendly and not accomdating. Would have left but where do you get another reservation on Valentine’s Day. When were leaving there was a person who wanted to do take out and he was told there wasn’t any take out today, without explanation. The special I tems menu was crazy expensive. Food was good but not worth the $50.00 a plate.
We went to Pietro's for Valentine's Day and had a great meal. I had the charred filet mignon with fingerling potatoes and it was very tender and tasteful. I did think the $52 cost was a little excessive for the amount of food on this cast iron seared pan especially since the soup or salad was an additional cost. For $52, I would expect a salad as part of that $52 cost.
The service was good, but the waitress told us they had a well stocked bar so we could order anything. My wife asked for a Mai Tai, but the waitress came back and told her they did not have any pineapple juice. What kind of "well-stocked" bar does not carry pineapple juice so that was a disappointment. Had they been able to make her the drink she wanted, I would have rated them "outstanding" for overall service.
I've had dinner at this restaurant several times and their food is always very good. On just a few occasions have we had a less than efficient waiter/waitress, but on this occasion, two different waitresses kept making sure we had what we needed.
A little rough and gruff at the reception desk followed by slow service. The soup and salad were good, but the shrimp scampi was lacking in both the amount of shrimp and garlic although the mushrooms were tasty. We have eaten here several times before, but will wait a while before returning. It was an expensive but not memorable Valentine's Day lunch.
Great Wine list from local wineries! Food was good. Nothing to eat that was Vegan optional and Salad is truly a poor option! The chef was able to make pasta with tomato sauce - there’s SO much more that could be done! Kind of disappointing for an Italian restaurant.
Wise to make reservations, just to be on the safe side. Too early in the year for the tomato salad, which is a family favorite, so we had minestrone and regular salad for starters. Found a new favorite item in the menu: fettuccini piedmontese!! A perfect blend of pasta, pancetta, garlic, and parmigiana cheese.
I heard that Pietro’s was the best restaurant in Lodi, so while I was in the area to see the Sand Hill Cranes, I decided to go there for dinner. There were four of us. All of us were disappointed by the food and the service. Mediocre bread, bland salads, even the Caesar, bland main dishes, it was hard to get the waitresses attention to bring us standard items like salt and Parmesan cheese for our pastas. Also, our waitress, who knew nothing about wines and was unable to describe them, said there was a no tasting policy. That’s unheard of where we’re from. The lights were too bright and the ambience was not warm or friendly, just busy. A so-so meal.
This is the second time we've been here and this was way better than the last. The food was much better - we had Chicken Parmesan and Gnocchi. The bread was awesome and the Caesar salad was really good as well. As long as you are not expecting a romantic quiet dinner, this Italian food is worth it and we'll be returning when we need our Italian fix.
Six of us had lunch at Pietro's to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was our first visit, and we were very impressed. Our server and all the other staff members who spoke with us were very nice, relaxed, and helpful. Even though the restaurant was busy, we never felt rushed or neglected.
The food was fantastic! Several of our party had the pasta trio, which they highly recommend, and the others had mushroom risotto and the Italian sausage sandwich. All of us were delighted with our food.
I should mention the food garden too. Outside the restaurant, they have rows of raised beds with herbs and vegetables growing. We spent lots of time in the garden, which added to our enjoyment of the restaurant.
If you're ever in Lodi, you should definitely eat at Pietro's. If you live in Lodi, and you haven't been there yet, you should go now, because you're in for a treat.
Pete Murdaca is a rising chef - third generation. Skip the menu and just beg him to cook for you. Be brave - he has such a great spin on the old family recipes. And Pietros is a solid supporter of Lodi's wine community. You'll find many local growers and vintner's products on the list.
My girlfriend and I went to Pietro's before going to a high school dance. My parents dropped us off 15 minutes early and we were seated immediately. The dinner rush was around 7pm, as we were leaving. The service was good; we only got water, but it was filled regularly. The food was great. The cannoli was very filling and very good. The night went well, and the money was spent well.
We went to Pietro's Italian Restaurant in Lodi, CA for a birthday lunch. We requested a window table looking out on their outdoor dining courtyard. The service is quick from taking the order, to serving, to bringing the check. Water glasses always filled and empty plates taken away promptly. The food was superb!! Authentic Italian fare since the owners recently toured Italy and worked with chefs there. They even grow their own vegetables outside the entrance. Beautiful garden! The tiramisu is homemade. There is a floor to ceiling glass wall which houses their wine collection and is on full view to diners in the room where we sat. We have to drive 40 minutes to get to this place, but it is very worthy of the drive. Wish it were in our backyard so we could go there once a week!
Quickly seated and served drinks. Food is consistently good, service was excellent. Risottos, mushroom and a special with prosciutto and veg, were tasty. Ordered sides of meatballs which are the best. They were very busy. As usual. This is one of the best restaurants in town, especially since their renovation.
It was a date night, used Open Table for reservations, got there a little early. Pleasantly surprised how quickly we were seated, there were several people seated at the bar, but we were seated right away. Service was great, got our drinks right away, our server, Anne, was very quick and paid attention to our needs. She was very funny, friendly and quite frankly, fun. Wonderful food, we have eaten here before, so we not surpised how good it was. The remodel of the restaurant looked great, we liked the open kitchen and to be able to watch the Chef's all working away. We were not hurried, although the restaurant was extemely busy on a Saturday night. A very enjoyable experience and will be back.
