A hidden gem. The food is amazing and the service is the friendliest we've experienced.
Great spot for catch up with friends- quiet, easy to have conversation. Really interesting menu- fit for a foodie! Lovely prompt, but not intrusive, friendly service. I appreciate that the chef noticed my gluten free status, and ahead of time had prepared gluten free crab cakes, just in case I desired them. Of course, that was my selection, and quite tasty!
First time at this restaurant, won't be the last. The food and service were great. Nancy was welcoming and presented beautiful food. The ambiance was wonderful for a nice dinner with an old friend.
Great food and we loved Nancy!! Quiet place on Tuesday night and that made dinner nice. Nancy is a wonderful owner and takes care of her diners. Will visit again!!!!
No one there on a Saturday night during the holidays. Very run down. Food was fine. Service was fine. Restrooms were filthy. Very sad. Used to be a great spot!
Great food, nice folks. Hade the eggplant stacked cake. Super yummy! Next time crab cakes.
Great server and excellent food. Definitely recommend the smoked crab cakes, best I ever had!!
Duck soup was amazing! It was cream based with mushrooms and onions. Would get this every time!
Nancy's food is fun, playful and delicious. Always a good value. I great neighborhood establishment.
Even though Pierpoint has been in Historic Fell’s Point for almost 30 years now, it is still a hidden gem. The food is fresh, prepared to order, and is a wonderful modern twist on traditional Maryland fare. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Many of our fellow diners were locals, who lent a great neighborhood vibe to our experience. Highly recommend for both casual and fine dining. Don’t forget to try Chef Longo’s award-winning crab cakes - we were so fortunate to get to chat with her!
The place was dingy and smelt stale and musty. Our crabs cakes stayed on the flat top a little too long and had a burnt crust. It seemed like you were at a friends house the way they yelled back and forth about other customers they did not want to come in... surprised it had such high reviews.
Old and a bit dirty. Place is Very Small. Food was good but nothing special. Much better options exist in the Fells:Canton area.
We were very disappointed with PierPoint. The regular crab cake was good but nothing to write home about. The smoked crab cake was just overwhelmed with smoke, you couldn’t taste the crab. The Caesar salad had inedible croutons and a soggy Parmesan crisp. The waitress was very pleasant but clearly overwhelmed as she was the only server and the bartender. We do not recommend PierPoint.
Food was fabulous!
A hidden gem. The crab cakes alone are worth the visit. An inventive, unique menu, I’ll need to come back to explore more. Wonderful dinner. Recommend it highly.
Visiting in Baltimore for the weekend. Researched local restaurants to eat at. Found Pierpoint and were intrigued by its story and the Chef/Owners Cilinary History. It did not disappoint! Located in Fells Point just up off the water in a charming row house. Small and intimate and charming with a bar/sitting area. Maybe 40 seats in the restaurant. The menu is modest but contains variety and the food is really really really good! We met up with friends from Baltimore we hadn’t seen in a long time and they didn’t know about Pierpoint but they will be back.
We have not been there in many years and it did not disappoint. Food and atmosphere allowed for a personal experience, Nancy Long owner/chef was awesome to catch up with.
The owner/chef was very sweet. The restaurant does not have a kid’s menu but the owner/chef created meals just for my kids. The food was great and everyone was very nice
I loved all about this restaurant. The bartender was friendly and nice. Their crab cake and creme brulee were excellent. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to my people.
When we chose the Pierpoint, we based our decision on the 5-star reviews we were seeing. For me, the menu was a winner. I started with the pumpkin pirogi. The dumplings were drowning in sauce and the flavor was lost. I followed with the lamb chops with "pan seared" vegetables and garlic potato puree. The chops were over-cooked. The veggies were straight out of the freezer bag, to include the tumbled carrot pieces. The potatoes were grainy and flavorless. Instant or frozen, I guess. My dining partner got the mixed greenhouse salad with Maytag blue cheese (that was fine), this was followed by the scallops, which were OK. The scallops were accompanied by a mushy brussell spout slaw. There was a dust up when the waitress/sous chef/bar tender apparently erred when pan frying the scallops. While the Pierpoint may have at one time been a gem of a restaurant, I suggest you look elsewhere. Baltimore has MANY restaurants superior to what we experienced at the Pierpoint.
My husband and I were visiting from out of town and booked from a recommendation that the crabcakes were the best, but don't expect super good service and the place is a little quirky. Our experience was different. Our server was wonderful! She worked her butt off serving six tables exceptionally well. She was personable, attentive and made us feel special. Oh, and she was the bartender, hostess as well as the only server. Now for the 'to die for' crabcakes. They were good, but just o.k. Lots of crab meat, but the breading and presentation was just meh... We were finishing our meal and drinks and having a good time until the cat walked by our table. Yep. A. Cat. The chef set down in a booth and explained to all the diners how she had to bring her to work because of some anxiety issues the cat was having. This was explained in great, gross detail. Apologized that she got out of her kennel, and made no move to remove her as she was laying on the couch when we left. My husband tipped the wonderful bartender/server/hostess extra as we walked out the door. He explained it was 'battle pay'. She deserved it, for sure! I get 'quirky', but will definitely seek out other restaurants when we're back in town.
Great food and service in a quaint, intimate casual setting!!
Excellent food, location is a bit out of the way and the ambiance is average. Service was excellent. Good local experience.
Unfortunately, our experience was not good. Our waitress was awesome but the food was not good. Bread was frozen on the inside, fried green tomatoes were super mushy and the scallops were sandy and salty. The crab cakes were good. I don’t understand because the other reviews were great. Maybe it was an off night but I won’t go back.
We enjoyed our dinner choices. We went on a night that the restaurant was having a neighborhood dining menu. The pot pie was wonderful as was the Korean chicken pho.
I have been here before and always enjoyed it. This last visit, the scallops and soup were amazing.
Interesting menu with nice blend of old favorites and some new offerings. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Friendly service and a quiet relaxed atmosphere. Easy to enjoy all around.
Great experience. We could see the Ravens game from our table.
Food and atmosphere were excellent. The service was terrific.
The smoked crap cake we saw on the food channel was surprisingly really good. Our waitress Brook was the best. Excellent customer service and engaged with the patrons.
I really enjoyed the food. However, they needed additional help to make the evening flow better. We spent half our evening waiting at various times for service. Food was good but the crabcakes were charred on top, and the presentation lacking. (Sloppy. Crabcakes broken.)
It was a great one time experience. But for the money, we deserved better service. Total bill for four with appetizer, entree, and bar beverages, $250+.
As my guest wrote "So glad we could connect for dinner. Should I end up in prison on death row I definitely would like Maryland crab cakes , corn chowder and watermelon lime sorbet as my last meal. Oh , and a glass of wine. I will ask the guards to call you for the details." Lovely quiet place to enjoy friends and food.
Amazing food! Must try the Scallops. They were delicious! Crabcakes to die for! So good, in fact, that we ordered 10 crabcakes (smoked and traditional) to take back home to our family. Nancy and Brooke did a wonderful job with packing it for us to take back NY. Couldn’t do enough to accommodate us. Great environment, like you’re sitting in someone’s living room!
Great Fell’s Point neighborhood find. Recommend trying the bento box appetizer. Trio of squash soup was amazing. Seafood salad has A LOT of seafood!
Everyone loved both the traditional and smoked crab cakes. Enjoyed meeting Chef Nancy and staff.
Came here for the crab cakes which were delicious. The place could use cleaning though.
my friend and i ate at this adorable restaurant last saturday. everything was ASTONISHINGLY delicious! best crab cakes either of us have ever had. i could have eaten an entire bowl of the clams casino, and the scallops had me ready to lick my plate. everyone working here was kind and friendly. we'll be back without a doubt.
Being from out of town, it was easy to find. The waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She made a great suggestion regarding the crab cakes.
The crab cakes are as good as advertised!!
