Piero's is an elegant restaurant and banquet hall located in Union Beach, New Jersey on Route 36. We have 2 full service bars located on floors 1 and 2. We also have a large banquet room located on the second floor that accommodates parties up to 85 people with a lavishing dance floor that gives your guests plenty of room to enjoy themselves and allows for live entertainment.
Food wasn’t great. Started with the stuffed mushrooms which was way too bready. Veal didn’t taste great on the entree. 3 of the desserts on the menu weren’t available, and on a Saturday night. Bill was expensive for the quality of what we received. The service was good.
We went for an anniversary dinner and the food, wine, and service were excellent. We enjoyed a well appointed and generous cold antipasto that we enjoyed with a few specialty cocktails. My wife will choose various menu items but I always gravitate to the veal saltimbocca, it's always delicious! Our server Jesse and his trainee Kelsey, were attentive, knowledgeable and a joy to interact with, we'd definitely request him again. We weren't rushed, our courses were perfectly timed and the wine list had selections at every price point. All in all, the evening exceeded our expectations!
Food was great. Service was great. Jesse served us tonight. Michael, owner, chef, came out also to talk and check on everything.
Very good food and service. I was disappointed because with old owner there was live music and a nice bar crowd on New Year's Eve. this year only people at bar was me and my fiancé. the owners were there and did not have decency to even say Happy New Year to us or buy us a drink or shot since we were only ones there. Loved food but would not go back just because of there rudeness. Old owner had valet parking and coat check. New owners have neither,
The staff could not have been friendlier and as always the food was excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice, romantic dinner or just an evening out with good friends.
Great ambience and service. Definitely a repeat visit.
Excellent dinner. Our waiter was wonderful. Very good choice for eating before going to Redbank for The Irish Tenors show. Will definitely be back.
Very disappointing. We had scheduled our office Christmas party for 4pm on a Wednesday. The place was virtually empty when we arrived. We were greeted by a very pleasant person who advised that he would set up our table. This took about 15-20 mins. As we waited for our guests to arrive, more patrons began arriving. By the time our guests had arrived, there were several other tables of patrons. The gentleman who initially greeted us was our server. It seemed as though he was the only server on duty for the entire restaurant. While he did his best to help us, he was completely swamped and it took almost 4 hours to serve a party of 8. While there were no complaints about the food, the service was terrible and ruined what would have otherwise been a festive occasion.
Everything was wonderful, except the temperature in the room. We are with our coats on.
The crispy salmon was served with a light berry flavored sauce along with broccoli rabe and fingerling potatoes. Flavors worked well and I savored each bite. Woke up my taste buds! We were a party of 8, and everyone enjoyed their meals. One person had the pork chop and raved about it.
Food quality very poorly. The pasta was over cooked. Sauce tasted like it care from a jar.
Piero’s was one of our favorite places but no longer. The service was slow - drinks were good but came out one at a time. Menu selection was limited and priced high for the quality. There was no salad served with any of the entrees. Only one dish out of four was prepared correctly & enjoyed. Pasta dishes were very salty.
Very good food and service friendly service great for dinner
Food is fantastic, can’t wait to go back. Worth every penny
As usual food was very good and the service was friendly and professional. We will visit again and you should too.
Amazingly good food. If you are in the area don't overlook this one. Might not look like much on the outside but you will be happy inside!
Great service from Jessie. Great food. Nice atmosphere. Quiet.
Food was excellent; nicely prepared and presented. The only issue we had was the temperature. The place was a bit cold for pur liking.
The veal was a little salty, but otherwise ok. The low point was when I asked the hostess to please reduce the music volume so we could converse in a normal tone. She lied to us , saying she wasn't authorized to do that. Only the manager could do that, and she is not here. I later asked one of the servers to reduce the volume a bit, and she cheerfully did so.
We had a most delightful meal at Piero's to celebrate a birthday. My pasta bolognese was the best I've ever had and my sister-in-law raved about the pasta with red clam sauce. Our server, whose name I did not get, was charming. Perhaps I should just say that the guy in the turquoise earrings did a wonderful job for us. Many thanks.
My meal was outstanding. Started with the bacon wrapped scallops and main was the eggplant tower. The 2 with me weren’t happy with their meals. They had the clams oregenata. Both claimed they were dry. They didn’t like their entrees either.
Sat by the band they were good but to loud, should have been seated away from the band in the front room. The flank steak special was over cooked and our octopus flavor was good but not tender too chewy.
Food and service were quite good. Some items were a bit pricey but for good, authentic cuisine, this is the place to go in this area.
Would go repeatedly. Excellent menu choices and well prepared and presented dishes
Had the calamari, it was too rubbery, hard to chew through. Had linguini with white clam sauce, tasty but way to much sauce, had to pour extra sauce into bowl. Husband had veal parm and that was good.
Not worthy of the 4.4 stars given in open table. The food was average at best. I ordered an angry lobster for $42 and it was one of the worst I've had. I also ordered the bacon wrapped scallops and they had a very fishy smell and the taste was awful. We were a table of 6 and all agreed the food ranged from disappointing to average at best. For the money, I definitely would not go back. There are plenty of other Italian restaurant's in the area that are much better. Having said that, the staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the live music.
Made reservations to celebrate our son and his fiance's birthdays, along with their engagement. We had six in our party, and I didn't initally feel our table wasn't suitable, but within minutes we were placed at a larger table. The service was impeccable, and our meal was exceptional. Our kids even asked when we would be able to return. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
While the food was very good, the lack of service and tight dining room will not make me rush to return. We were there for over 2 hours and did not even have dessert. We were there later on Easter but it was not busy with most people leaving. Not sure if there were staffing issues but it just felt like we were being ignored as we saw little of our waitress.
The food was just okay. It was expensive for the amount of food you received. I wouldn’t go back.
First time there and we really enjoyed it. Food was delicious!
The food and service were outstanding! Our only unpleasant issue was not with the restaurant. At a neighboring table, the occupants forgot their manners and class. My wife and I endured a whole meal of foul language and rude comments. Very disruptive to a special occasion!
Always great food and choices. We have been dining at Piero's for 25+ years and even after the shift in ownership a few years ago we still thoroughly enjoy the experience. Miss some of the previous waiters who were always very attentive and made the dining experience a delight. I must admit however, our most recent dinner was abit disappointing on the service level. Our food did not disappoint, but I would suggest the wait staff could use a vitamin C shot to pay better attention to the customer instead of congregating at the podium with the hostess. Having to wait to get their attention for another cocktail or grated cheese is not what you would normally expect, particularly at the high prices Piero's commands. Overall a great place to dine just don't be in a hurry.
Went to dinner for Valentines day. The food is good but the service was horrendous! The worst service I ever had experienced in a high priced restaurant. One waitress handling 30 tables and she could not keep up. Waited 30 minutes after ordering a bottle of wine waited long time for the appetizers, waited a ridiculous amount of time for the entree. Couldn't wait to leave we were miserable having to wait so long. It looked like none of the servers went to work that day! The place was dysfunctional and unorganized. Clearly the manager doesn't know what he is doing. I will never go there again. Very expensive and the agonizing wait ruined our Valentines Dinner. The place better make sure they have enough waiters/waitresses for the prices they charge. They were understaffed for Valentines Day dinner which is absurd.
Had Valentines Day dinner here and it was awesome! Great environment (we were upstairs) and had a nice and relaxing dinner while listening to some nice background music. Also were given complimentary flowers and chocolate covered strawberries at the end of the date. 10/10!
They had sent an email highlighting their special Valentine’s Day dinner. Chocolate covered strawberries, roses etc. We wound up sitting in a brightly lit banquet room and there was absolutely no events or indication that it was even Valentine’s Day. Very disappointed!
Excellent food and great service. Everything tastes fresh
Had lunch with friends. Everyone's meal was served in a timely but not rushed manner.
Very nice dining experience. The food was delicious- I had the pork chop which was outstanding, my husband had the veal Milanese and my daughter had the filet mignon - all very good. Our server Mary was very good. My only criticism is that it’s a bit pricey and it’s not a BYOB. Otherwise, would definitely recommend!
Great staff and good place to hang out with friends. Food is outstanding! You can actually have a conversation and hear it.
My wife and I used to have dinner at Pieros once a month for a few years when first married.
Went back with our 16/14/10 year old kids Saturday night.
Meals and appetizers want from adequate to very good. Traditional Chicken Parmigiana was very good. Gnocchi and the linguini with red clam sauce were just ok.
Calamari was just as I remembered it from many years ago. Light and tender.
Deserts ( Italian Cheesecake) was interesting with espresso and cinnamon flavor. Creme Brûlée was Fair. The dipped ice cream dessert was really tasty.
Our server was pretty good. The time between courses was a bit lengthy. 7 pm dinner was a little more than two hours.
The entertainment was a trio, two guitarists and a gal singer. We were seated pretty much right next to them. They were a bit loud and conversation over a round table of five was somewhat strained.
I was pleased to be back. My wife was less enthusiastic about our dinner.
Three ish stars.
