About Pier W
Pier W, a landmark Cleveland restaurant, has been serving a critically acclaimed seafood and contemporary menu since May 11, 1965. Having recently undergone a $3 million interior renovation, the new Pier W resembles a sophisticated luxury liner cantilevered over Lake Erie offering dramatic views of both the Lake and the downtown Cleveland skyline.
We would like to request that shorts, flip flops and baseball caps are not worn to the restaurant.

Pier W Ratings and Reviews
Don't expect to get a table for 5 unless you want to eat next to hostess stand. Facility 30% full and we requested a table away from hostess stand/ entrance and were told only table which could accommodate 5. Very disappointing, as faculty was 30% full and other tables clearly available. The table was in the path way of main entrance with zero view right next to hostess stand.
This was my 3rd trip to Pier W. My husband and I have been here for dinner, for a happy hour and this time we decided to try out brunch. Everything at Pier W is well worth the money you spend. The service is always excellent, the food is amazing and the views and ambiance are beautiful. Pier W is perfect for a date night, a family or friend get together and you definitely have to try the brunch! Delish!
We visited PierW many times before, but we may not return for another time. Reason, overpriced, food quality declined. The ceaser salad was salty wilted, the dessert selection could be more updated with fresh fruit etc. I did not like the very tight corner place, felt like a child was put in the corner for bad behavior. My husband asked for a second glass of champagne, the charge $8.95. Way overpriced!
Great restaurant. Not our first time here but there is never complaints at all. The food is outstanding, the service very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and the view is spectacular (even though it was an awful weather day and we couldn't go for a walk on the pier. This may be our favorite restaurant in the Cleveland area and it never fails to live up to that status. Recommend it highly !
Went there many years ago it was better than I remembered .
Service was excellent. Food was excellent. I was born in Cleveland but the skyline from this location was unique. With non alcoholic beverages price was very reasonable. Highly recommend. You can't request a window table with your reservation but on a Tuesday at 5PM we were one table away from the window .
Greeters weren't erythromycin welcoming....Sam our waiter was awesome....food was awesome....tables are too was wobbly to be formally dressed.....was no music or piano...still the only place to go if you want to formal dining.....can't stand getting dressed up to see flip flops (dirty feet) while I eat...all in all had a nice dinner ... wish there was piano music and a bit more romantic and sturdy tables
This place is phenomenal from a service and food and wine perspective. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. Both of our fish dishes were delicious and perfectly cooked. Dessert and apps were also great. The lobster bisque and clam chowder are to die for. Thank you Pier w for your consistent and wonderful establishment!
Our reservation was early so though there were only two of us we were seated at a table right by the window to look out at the beautiful view of the water and the Cleveland skyline. The food was great, the service was excellent and the live piano music was a perfect touch.
We tried Pier W for restaurant week and our anniversay, and it was somewhat disappointing. The lobster bisque had one tiny piece of lobster in it, and the mahi-mahi was SUPER sweet (too much sugar in the coconut coating). The creme brule was DELICIOUS, so that was awesome, and 2 of the 3 wine pairing were excellent (I did not like the ice wine with dessert). My husband also rated his meal as average, so we probably won't go back.
We went with another couple for a quiet dinner... and for once, even though the dining room was crowded, the room was quiet enough that we could converse and hear one another without straining or shouting. That is a rare blessing these days!! -- The food was great, and the service was impeccable, as well, but what will really get me back there is that we could talk comfortably!
This has become our favorite take our out of town guest speaker to dinner place! Our board of 6 keep insisting we return since it satisfies pescavores, carnivores as well as the vegetarians (who are now choosing the Hawaiian Tuna entree and scallops). Only problem is that it gets dark earlier so we can’t enjoy the beautiful view as long.
The food and views are amazing. I was very disappointed that people were there in jack-o-lantern t-shirts for a restaurant like this. Other people had tennis shoes, sweatpants and even a belly shirt. It was very disturbing and disgusting for a 100$ meal.
Our experience on Saturday nght was excellent. We had a slight wait for our reservation but were then seated at a lovely lakefront table. Our party of 4 all ordered from the restaurant week menu and it was fabulous and a great value! The short rib pierogis are one of my favorite things at the Pier W. Our drinks and wine were also great as was our server, Amos.
Waitress messed up my order and didn't apologize. Manager confronted another server about an issue so that my boyfriend could hear the whole interaction instead of taking the server in the back. Additionally, my mother called ahead to pay for drinks and our dessert and we never received the dessert. I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone. This dinner was to celebrate a 5th anniversary and we were both very disappointed with it.
We were on a short vacation and I selected this restaurant only because it was close to our hotel and the inside views were very nice.
We were extremely happy with all parts of our meals, the service and the friendly people.
I had some raw oysters and a shrimp / scallop over linguine dish which were great.
