The deck seating was very nice. The waiter was extremely helpful and attentive. However, the food was a disappointment. Not a good value for the price. I ordered a special of salmon wellington over spinach. The spinach was actually arugula and there was very little salmon in the wellington, mostly rice. The waiter was very apologetic and even brought me another piece.
I think this place would be great in the summer for drinks on the deck, but we will not be going back for dinner.
The service is very good and polite. The food is fair. Order roasted chicken with broccoli rabe, which had no taste. My wife’s pasta dish was swimming in chorizo and the pasta was over cooked.
The deck dining is beautiful but we ate inside due to the temperature.
Second time dinning here food was excellent and menu offered nice selection the service is also excellent our waiter was so helpful and made for a very nice dinning experience
We waited 40minutes for drinks and then another 15becore she took our food order. We didn't get our food until an hour after we sat down. The entire meal was delicious, sadly we had to have another server come over and offer us bread.
Service was very slow, we spent about 3 hrs due to the wait time
Food was good, service was ok, I have recommended the restaurant to coworkers and will be going back.
I have been here many times for both lunch and dinner during the warmer months when I can eat outside on the deck overlooking the Hudson River. I love my rail tables.
Overall it was a great experience. It was my wife’s birthday. She loves everything about the restaurant: the food, the view, the ambiance. Her two best friends who were there with us that night felt the same way about the Restaurant, except our waiter. He was not attentive at all to our table compared to the way he was with other tables. At first my guests & I thought he was having a bad night from his demeanor which is typical, but when we looked & saw the way he was chatting & laughing with other tables around us; then we realized that it wasn’t a typical bad night. Besides that we love everything about the restaurant. My wife bragged about the food and we will be back.
Excellent food and service, unbeatable view of the Tappan Zee bridge! Don't let the gluten free label dissuade you from the chocolate cake for dessert--it's amazing! Their cider sangria was fantastic, as well.
this place is always nice to go sit by the water and enjoy a seasonal cocktail
The dreary day was the only downer on this Sunday early afternoon visit to Per 701. The hostess was friendly, the waiter was attentive and friendly and the French Toast was awesome! Despite the weather, we sat outside under cover and had a wonderful experience.
Looking for a waterfront restaurant. Fit the bill. We decided to share several small plates, Tuna Loin, Oysters, Grilled Octopus, Butternut Squash Raviolis and Tiger Shrimp. All were excellent and spot on. Service was a little spotty given the crowd was not large, but we were not in any hurry so we will give them a pass.
Great way to end a day with colleagues. Ate outside enjoying view, there were 6 of us, each ordering 2 plates, and everyone enjoyed their food. We weren't rushed, the staff was fun, professional and accommodating. Will definitely go back.
Outstanding as always! Dennis is an amazing chef. Service was great.
We have been here before but this time it didnt live up to previous expectation. Service unprofessional. place was very busy and rushed
ur male waiter wasn't too attentive, he mentioned that he had eight other tables he was working on. He seemed very flustered and definitely didn't want to be there today. Fortunately for the women waitresses / helpers they made our date a little more smoother. It seemed our bill came out a lot higher then what the price was on the menu, as well as I mentioned to the waiter that my glass was chipped, he didn't really seem to care too much. I'd have to think about it 2 or 3 times before I visit the place again, the view was great though
Went recently for a casual dinner on a warm Sept. evening. Had a quick drink and relaxed before being seated. While the wind was picking up, we could only be seated outside so we endured the conditions. We started with the burrata salad which was delicious. Great, fresh arugula and proscuitto also with roasted chick peas. Quite good. We then shared the lobster pot pie and tortellini and lobster special. The pot pie was mediocre-not as flavorful as we hoped. The tortellini was average-the pasta itself was average and the lobster was a good amount, but overall the dish was just fair. As for service, really didn't see the waitress much nor did she check in during the meal. Anyway, the location is good and the view is great on a clear night. Good for outdoor dining.
Our meal and service were fabulous. The staff was very accommodating and the view was just beautiful. We had a great time as a group of 6 who have been lifelong friends.
Considering they were so busy on an 80-degree Saturday eve in mid-Sept they were very accomodating. Bridal Shower in the afternoon and a Wedding onsite that evening. A lot of activity but didn't seem to effect any of the diners. Grilled Octopus appetizer was very good, dinner was good as well. I love the views, the comfortable ambience and the casual dining.
Sitting right on the river made a good lobster roll taste even better. Good food, great view of the Tappan Zee bridges (the new one is beautiful) and super weather.
Stopped in while taking a nice walk on the Piermont Pier.
Their outdoor area is great and it's also very large which is fantastic on a beautiful day because everyone is trying to get a seat outside, so they're more than able to accommodate a lot of guests. There's even a cool little beach area below the outdoor deck, right next to the water. If I lived closer, I'd definitely be coming by during the early evening for happy hour. The place just has a great "shore" vibe to it.
The service was fine. Nothing special or bad about it. Appetizers, which were a salad and clam chowder were really good. Our entrees could have used some sprucing though. I ordered the catch of the day which was pretty low on flavor. My wife ordered the penne in vodka sauce w/ chicken and that was ok.
Price appears to be right in line with what the area is asking.
Overall, nothing spectacular about the meal, but the location is pretty cool. I would probably not return to eat, but like I said before, a visit for happy hour and drinks would certainly get me back here.
The food was good but a bit limited for a brunch menu. It was quite windy but we could not go indoors as the restaurant was being used for a private party. The service was slow due to the large amount of people
Very friendly, good food, gorgeous outside ambience. No idea about the inside as there was a private party going on ... but we were very happy outside.
Would be really nice atmosphere in the summer time. The food was great!
Pier 701 was crowded on such a beautiful day. We very much enjoyed sitting out on the deck and having a light seafood lunch - with a yummy Bloody Mary. I would definitely go back for lunch, dinner, drinks and just to enjoy the location on the water.
Great location, great food. By the glass wine list needs major improvement. Would recommend Ferrari Carano Siena, Coppola Black Diamond Claret, Bogle Phantom, moderate priced wines that are great tasting values.
First time to the restaurant… The view was incredible the oysters were tasty just a little small would definitely recommend to other people
The pasta dish was lacking in taste, appearance and quantity for the price. Our waitress would take so long to come back (and we were there early so not crowded), but another waiter noticed my looking for her and got my request. This restaurant is only worth the price for the lovely view.
We had been here before off season and always had positive experiences. in March of 2016 I posted a glowing review. This time our party of 5 ate outside and the view was lovely- that being the last positive part of the experience. It was a fairly expensive and limited lunch menu with many of the dishes having no resemblance to the description. The worst example was a lobster, mango salad which was described as lobster with mango. What came were a couple of un cracked lobster claws set on top of a little bit of lettuce and a few orange slices. When we pointed out that there was no mango we actually got an argument from the waitress who claimed it was fine as it had mango dressing. She also insisted that my daughter had already eaten the salad, when all she had done at that point was gotten the few bits of lobster from the claws. Eventually - after our insistence, she got the manager who took half the price off that particular item. I won't go into detail about some of the other dishes, none of which were very good except for a passable salmon.
Pier 701 has a great location with a fantastic view of the Hudson river. Their waterfront deck and beach are beautiful places to enjoy great food. My wife had mussels in fra diavolo sauce and crusted salmon, both of which she sent back with the plate clean. Needless to say she thoroughly enjoyed the food. I myself had the Penne vodka which was fantastic, containing delicious pieces of chicken and chorizo. This was not our first time here and will definitely not be our last. We highly recommend Pier 701 for great food and views.
We had an issue with our Seafood tower, when it when tumbling down. We didn't even touch it, it happened while we were talking with some friends we ran into. The manager came over, helped clean it up and replaced the food that went down to the floor. We did this without any question.
One negative observation, the cold seafood tower didn't have any lemons. I had to ask for them. I would also suggest offering other condiments for this dish. You are charging $100.00.
THE WORST! When we arrived at 7 for a 7:00 reservation we were told that there would still be a short wait which turned out to be 20 minutes. Only outdoor dining was available since there was a private party which occupied the inside and about 1/4 of the patio. This was not a problem for us since it was a nice evening but it's not acceptable to find out you don't have a choice until you arrive.
Service - horrible. It took forever for the server to come over. When she finally arrived & we asked if there were specials she turned in a huff & returned with a printed placard with the specials. It took about 25 minutes for the appetizers to arrive then person brining out the food yells "who gets the...". This is not a diner. They should know who gets what. Dinner came about 15 minutes later.
Food - I ordered the catch of the day. Dry does not begin to describe the piece of fish. I went to the hostess stand & they called over the manager. He could not have cared less. At the same time another customer was telling him that he had been waiting more than 25 for his food. Again there didn't seem to be much of reaction from the manager.
The only thing that this restaurant has going for it is a beautiful view of the Hudson River and the new bridge. The service and food are horrible.
Great view on the outdoor deck overlooking the Hudson. Great service and food. An enjoyable evening.
Beautiful ambiance overlooking the Hudson. Food was good and staff was very accommodating.
love seating outside. came there few times. the view is nice. food was not bad. will come again
Was treated wonderfully.......the staff is excellent, all beautiful people. Food was very good. Great view.
Sat outside on a beautiful Sunday and the outdoor space is great. We had oysters to start (they were not nearly as good as oysters had recently at other places), an omelette and the fig burrata prosciutto salad. The food was fine but not great. Service was friendly but exceptionally slow. But you come here for the view and the atmosphere and both were terrific. Just don't expect the food to equal the setting.
Food was subpar. Service was poor. View of TZ Bridge was lovely!
Waiter seemed like he didn't want to be there.
Prices very high for quality of food. They'd fare much better with "bar food" type of menu vs fancy entrees. Restaurant service and food quality doesn't support the type of menu here.
Sadly, we will not be returning.
Amazing location, food is good, reasonably priced vines.
You really can't beat the view here. We had a table right on the railing and really enjoyed the ambiance. Drinks were good, but I found the menu a little limited. Some places you go and you can't decide because everything looks good? This was like the opposite. I felt like I wasn't too impressed with the selection and thought my dinner was good, but not great. My favorite part of the meal was the dessert, the creme burlee brownie was excellent! I would go back for drinks or happy hour, but maybe a full meal elsewhere.
