Jane was a superb server and attended to all of our needs which made for an enjoyable and delicious dinner out.
Met an old friend for lunch - his treat. Everything was great!
I cannot review this restaurant because, although I'd made the reservation several days in advance, I was called the evening before and advised that the restaurant would be closed for the day and that our reservation had been moved to the Lobby Restaurant of the Pinnacle Hotel (under the same ownership), which has a similar menu, and that there would be a discount, probably 25%
While the food was acceptable, the Lobby was somewhat disorganized with respect to this. When one person arrived, they couldn't find the reservation. We had to ask for the discount and after a certain amount of discussion, we were given a 15% discount.
Really enjoyed the venue , The hostess accommodated our change in seating to be closer to the window with a smile. Our server was very pleasant .I had the Cajun chicken salad and found it just right with the spices , everyone enjoyed their meal. I ordered a bottle of the Meritage and it was a great wine. All in all had a great time.
A friend of mine and I met for lunch and had the lunch specials. Unfortunately I wish I had ordered hers (grilled salmon bun) instead of the fish and chips. The coleslaw was tasteless but the tartar sauce was good. Too much batter on the fish, the fries were crisp. I didn't know that I could have ordered the salad which my friend had. Great service, lovely ambience. Will go again but won't order the fish and chips.
Friendly servers. Fantastic location and the price is right!
Great spot, very poor service, the whole patio was full with only one server. Had to flag down the server every time. Every time we asked for something it was a delay and then we would have ask for help from the bus person.
Good food, delayed service also in getting the meals.
Took 35 mins to take our orders
No flavour to fish no dressing on salad
No seasonings whatsoever
We had Fish and chips and Angus burguer
Staff polite but slow
My fish and chips had too much batter and was overcooked. At the end of the meal we had trouble getting the check and then had to wait for the server to collect money from each individual set a group table. Apparently they only have one machine with which to make payment. The time to pay was about 20 minutes. Very unfortunate because the location is lovely and the facility is very well-maintained.
Overpriced for what you get. An air of superiority about the place that is unwarranted. Done going there.
Very poor service and only average food. Disappointed that request for a table with a view was ignored.
Great food, you can’t beat the ambiance. Gorgeous view. Can’t miss with this restaurant.
Great food, excellent service and a beautiful view of Vancouver’s nighttime skyline.
Had a very nice lunch to celebrate a birthday !
The Salmon sandwiches were substantial and delicious !
It is a bit of a walk from the available parking to the restaurant, but the parking at the Pinnacle Hotel was easy to access.
Everything was wonderful! Beautiful dining location, attentive server, everything arrived together.
Not necessary for wait staff to wear 7” long skirts!!! Attention to culinary expertise is emperical!!
unfortunately our meal was not up to regular expected standards. We had 3 seafood meals, one meal was under-cooked and cold, another meal was overcooked, yet cold, and the 3rd meal was dry and overcooked. disappointed as we have have had really great meals here in the past. Maybe it was an off night? Hope so because we love the ambiance and location and would like to return. Here's hoping for a better meal next time.
Too slow- we were there almost 2 hours ! Our waitress was nice enough but she seemed inefficient- running around back and forth - yet I still had to ask for my water to be refilled since it took 1 & 1/2 hrs to get our dinner after ordering. The place was only 1/2 full of patrons! Salmon over cooked and blahhh!
Our first time at Pier 7. Very pleasantly surprised. Good value in comparison to some of the other restaurants in the neighbourhood. One recommendation - cut down on the jalapeno in the calamari, it does not enhance the dish at all.
We went there as part of our date night and we were not impressed. It was a Friday night, and not very busy at all. We waited a really long time for our drinks, and the food actually came before the drinks, even though they were ordered at the same time. The waitress seemed surprised by this and went to find out what happened to them for us. We shared the calamari, and it was not very flavorful at all and chewy. Could have use more salt and pepper or something. The bathrooms weren't that clean either, which is weird because it really wasn't busy. It being both of our first time, we wouldn't go back or recommend it to friends.
We had a beautiful view of the water, which was my favorite part, besides the company of my date.
Unfortunately we didn't have a great experience at Pier 7. The "bottle" of wine we ordered arrived at the table in a carafe from a keg (not expected based on our reading of the wine list). The wait person poured the first taste, then never returned to fill our glasses so we poured our own throughout dinner. Our meals were just ok, definitely too salty. I asked for a substitution for one veggie that I can't eat, and although the veggie wasn't on my plate there didn't seem to be anything else substituted in its place. I loved the view and the ambience, but overall, not an experience I want to repeat or recommend to others, especially given the price.
I went here on an anniversary and the view from the patio was so good. The staffs were also very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We ended up here for a late supper and ended up having Happy Hour specials all night. Great value and a decent selection. Had a nice view and OpenTable reservation worked great!
It took for ever to bring drinks and service was poor even though the restaurant didn’t have that many guests.. the calamari didn’t have salt and was tasteless
Awesome place with a great view! Food is a good value and the service is amazing.
Felt a bit rushed and the food was only okay. Expectations weren't met but that's because of how wonderful the location is.
This restaurant did not disappoint. The service was excellent and the food, just wonderful.
Busy Friday evening. Nonetheless, service was great. Arriving at 5:30pm means first couple of drinks at happy hour prices. Server even gave notice when happy hour end was approaching. Wonderful seafood dishes. As seems to be the case for most modern restaurants, hard surfaces ensure the noise level is far too high for regular conversation. On a nice wearther day, you can escape that on the great-view patio.
Food was good but we ordered a seafood tower and 30 minutes later our main courses came out (which were delicious) with apologies but the tower will be another 10 minutes. Needless to say we cancelled it. They did take 15 percent off our bill.
Groupon purchasers beware: the Groupon description is misleading. I thought I was purchasing a certain amount of value to be applied to the menu - did not realize there is a set menu for the Groupon: choice between 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and a set dessert to be shared between 2 (=no choice). I did not find this to be good value for the very limited choices we were offered, and would not return with a Groupon. The setting was lovely but our server was inattentive (-very slow to take drink orders and bring drinks) and seemed bored/disinterested. With the pros and cons this averaged out to an ok night, but there are other restaurants with ambience that are much better value for the amount paid.
I have been Pier 7 so many times for lunch, dinner, brunch and happy hour. But this time is worst. Fish and chips was over cooked. So hard and try and salty. Servers are all young girls. They don't anything about customer service. It's a beautiful restaurant with the amazing view of the Vancouver skyline. However, I think they want to be a fancy restaurant but they're not quite there yet!?!?
Great view. Good food. Bad service 2 times now.
Consider myself a regular. Disappointing visit this time. Server provided limited and sub-standard service. Food was not of usual quality, ribs were over-cooked, short on meat, tough to eat, and I left most of it as it was not for consumption. Calamari had to be cut in to bite-size pieces with a knife, and was hard and chewy. I would have told our server, if she had ever come by and asked how the meal was going. Water glasses sat empty for most of the meal, and had to flag down a different server to get more wine.
I made a reservation 10 days before my visit. When we arrived we were put at a the worst table in the place - one of only two that did't have a waterfront view. I asked to be moved to one of the window tables I was talk they were reserved. I said that I had made my reservation over a week ago, why wasn't I given one of these tables? "I don't know, this is the only table available". Two of the tables by the window sat empty for our entire visit. I've been here 3 times and this has happened all three times.
FYI, parking is stupid expensive and the staff behave like your interrupting them. I will not return.
Open table had booked a table for five on the patio but was informed that the patio only had tabes for four and was first come first served. Even though they were fully booked the staff still found a table for us. The wait staff were excellent. The food was great.
The waitress we had was so horrible it entirely ruined any chance we had at having a good time here. We went for Thanksgiving dinner, got seated by the hostess right away but didn’t get seen by any of the wait staff until we went and flagged someone down after over 20 minutes of waiting. And it was not busy there were several open tables in our section alone and then the rest of the night we never saw our own waitress more than twice and we had to keep asking other staff for help with the things we were still missing! To top it all off this waitress had the audacity to tell my husband that he didn’t tip her enough !! She actually told him that if he didn’t tip her at least x amount of money that she was basically paying for him to eat there!!!! Like what kind of wages are these people paying their staff if they are actually telling customers that? Or was this girl just that disgusting? Idk but we surely will never go there again after this experience. Food was just ok. Not worth the terrible service
I took my niece and nephew for a Thanksgiving meal. Food and service were good. But we were seated on the patio - even though I had made a reservation - and the heaters were VERY hot - often uncomfortably so. Other than that, it was lovely.
We went for the Thanksgiving menu. I had the butternut squash soup appetizer. It was a tad salty, but everything else was cooked well. I enjoyed the roast turkey with a glass of Burrowing Owl Chardonnay.
If a customer asks for pepper on their meal, return quickly, please with the pepper mill. I waited a couple of minutes, then coffee came, then the pepper. Meanwhile my lunch was getting cold because I really do like pepper on my food and was waiting. Other than that, the service was good.
A very disappointing Thanksgiving Dinner. Service was slow (waited 10 minutes for drinks order even though it wasn’t busy), butternut squash soup was surprisingly dense, turkey roll was thick and gristly (no visible white meat), veggies were hard, mashed potatoes were too mushy; pumpkin tart and chocolate lava cake were the best part of the whole meal.
We won’t be returning to this restaurant!
