As always, this place is perfect for a great night out. Never had a bad meal or bad experience in over two dozen visits!
Very quick and efficient service for a busy Saturday night. Delicious food, reasonable food prices.
Great food beautiful ambience! Gorgeous holiday pots outside.
Very nice atmosphere. Food was good, but not great considering the price.
Food and service was great. Appetizers, soup, and entrees were all very tasty. Beer selection wasn’t huge, but you can find something better than an “XYZ light”. Mixed drinks were well made.
Always a good atmosphere and great food whenever I go!
Made reservations 1 week in advance for a Sunday at 11am for 2 and we get stuck at a small table by the kitchen....go figure.
Some of our group have never been to Pier 500 before and everyone had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the food.
Another excellent experience. We were seated at a nice table by the fireplace - as requested - thank you so much!! We really enjoyed the Cloudine Pinot Noir - what a lovely glass of wine! It went exceptionally well with our grilled salmon salads and the brandy mushroom cream soup. WOW, everything was done to perfection, attentive service, just super. Thanks again.
This is a favorite as it almost never disappoints, and if you don’t like what you ordered they are quick to make it right. Great choices for food and beverage. Love this place!
We were really early for our reservation, but they were able to accommodate us anyway and we sat in a great booth near the bar. Nick (also a bartender) was our server and he did a great job. Very friendly and on top of things. Food was awesome and we didn't have to wait long. One had walleye cakes that were amazing. Another had a burger, done perfectly, and the 3rd person in our party had the scallops with risotto- her new favorite dish at Pier. Highly recommend.
Our meal at Pier 500 was the most delicious meal I have ever had in a restaurant and I have had my share of meals in restaurants. We were early for our reservation, and was seated on time.
We began with appetizers of walleye cakes as well as Szechwan green beans. If I would have known how fantastic the green beans were going to be, I would not have ordered a dinner. (And I don’t even like green beans. Until now.) Walleye cakes: top notch.
The entire dinner party of 4 were very happy with their meal. I had scallops with risotto. Scallops were delicate, risotto was tasty and creamy.
Noisy, busy, and not enough room for people to wait while their table is getting ready. Chaotic, actually.
Really good food, Good Service, Good atmosphere. Recommend reserving ahead of time and getting there early as parking is an issue and you might have to park farther away. Also all the parking is metered. Even in their parking lot.
Food was excellent ! Great afternoon with a friend. Service was fast
Food and service sub-par. Server dropped tarter sauce all over my shirt and manager condescendingly made jokes. The Parmesan-encrusted Walleye was flavorless and rubbery.
Great food and as always great service!
We enjoyed a lovely Anniversary dinner at Pier 500! Everything was excellent, from the service to the food quality, to the wine selection and atmosphere! We’ll be back again!
Its fine, but its not great. Food was very average and the atmosphere felt a little dated and also, crowded with families. I was on a date with my husband and was looking for a little more upscale, trendy, quieter environment.
It is always a memorable evening at Pier 500. Indoors or outdoors, in the sunny season or on a cool November evening, the views are wonderful, the food is great, food in fact, it was hard to choose! This is one of my destination restaurants (I live in St. Paul) and I have not been disappointed.
Food and service where both excellent. We have dined at Pier 500 several times over the past 10 years. Everything is very consistent (In a good way). The service the food and the clientele. It’s a great place for a date night but is also a great place for a family meal or gathering.
Our server Paige was great, the food was just ok. Recommend the nachos, steak and burger. The walleye bites were more breaking than fish and the scallops and risotto had good flavor but were swimming in a bowl of butter.
Only complaint I had is that one of the gentleman that worked there was talking and joking around loudly next to our table manager should of said something to him other than that pier 500 is our choice to go to
Restaurant didn’t have table ready regardless of having a reservation. This has happened there before they basically don’t know how to manage tables for reservations I’m guessing. Server was delightful and good.
Great food and service as all our visits have been. The Pork Chop dinner is great and glad you brought it back.
Everyone was so nice and very efficient. Food was very good. They had our table ready, no waiting.
I would recommend to a friend, with a caveat. The strength of this place is the location. If you can eat outside or inside with a view, then you can make some allowances for the food.
We have been here twice, once outside and once inside. Burgers were solid. My parm-encrusted walleye was pretty good—nice and hot with a crispy crust that was a wee too heavy on the cheese. Beans were A+ Prime rib was way too tough. Chewing it took energy and concentration! Big disappointment. Server was great-just the right amount of friendly. Note-we were there at 4:30 on a Saturday so there were plenty of tables. Why the host put us at a 2 top right next to the kitchen is beyond me. It might have been the worst table in the joint. We were cheerfully seated elsewhere, but why put us there in the first place?
As usual we enjoy the environment, we like the food and we really like the location of the restaurant
We always love Pier 500, but this time there was a child that had a very piercing scream that was very disturbing for a while, but thankfully finally stopped. I know it isn't the restaurant fault, but it does give a very bad experience. I love that kids go out to eat with family and it was probably some of our own dealing as we went earlier than we normally do, so we were butting into to their time. We did have a family of 3 kids right next to us that was extremely well behaved. We had a very nice dinner otherwise.
Wonderful food and service!
As always the Banana Cream Chocolate cake desserts were outstanding!!
Come here for the rare date night for parents of 3 kids under 10. We always choose here because we need the food to be perfect and it always is.
Prime rib and meat loaf this time with Gouda nachos and some awesome cocktails.
Always do the chocolate cake.
We had a great anniversary dinner at Pier 500. We we seated in a cozy booth for two near the fireplace. Our server was great and the special butternut squash ravioli was delicious. Not to mention the huge piece of chocolate cake for dessert. Highly recommend.
Food was fantastic. The service needs to be addressed. My server spilled my drink when he delivered it to the table - no apology and did not clean it up. I took care of it. While waiting for food to arrive we noticed servers bussing tables and then going to service current tables. They should be washing their hands in between cleaning and servicing tables. I doubt this happens before they bring the food out now. When we were leaving a server walked right in front of my wife with food. No excuse me nothing, just get out of my way I have food. Again the restaurant is super clean, great ambiance with amazing quality food. Too bad they don't train their servers better. Next time I will opt for take out and not dine in.
Waitress was nice but worked a little too hard to be engaging. Didn’t come there to talk to her. She made it weird by talking too long
First visit and we're going back!!! Enjoyed the restaurant, had two great servers and the food was excellent. One guest is handicapped and the accommodation was outstanding.
A member of my party of 4 is in a large wheelchair, which I made sure to include in the reservation. Why, then, we were placed in the absolute middle of the dining room is beyond me. The music was so loud (bad 80s music, I should add), that we had to shout at each other. This was only exacerbated by the 4 big screen TVs blaring the football game in the bar.
This was a business dinner, and the website led me to believe the place was a little more upscale, with a nice view of the river. The shades were drawn, so we couldn't see much (and the weather was perfect), but I must say that the food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meal tremendously.
The service was attentive, but our server needs to learn how to more gently interrupt a conversation. That all said, he was so drop-dead gorgeous that I could hardly focus on much of anything else.
I had a healthy bowl with Salmon. It was excellent. My hubby had walleye and thought it was perfectly made. Our friends seemed to enjoy the roasted chicken breast. It was nice to have been able to reserve a table in advance. We were seated the moment we arrived. It was very busy. So, we had to wait for refills etc. But, that's understandable. I recommend Pier 500 and plan to be back in the near future.
This is my absolute my favorite restaurant. They have incredible selections and the atmosphere is very warm and appealing. It's a beautiful place to visit summer or winter. Service is far beyond what one's expectations would be. They are beyond excellent. If you want a wonderful family gathering place, enjoyable drinks after work or even a dinner for two with excellent food, this is the place. Enjoy.
As always, very good food and great service! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
This is a lovely, quality place in Hudson for personal lunches as well as business dinners. I always enjoy the food and my recent trip there with 6 associates was outstanding. I especially love the patio seating with a view of the river in the summer.
