The service was slow but our waitress was very nice. Food was mediocre and pricy. Would try again but for lunch vs dinner.
I wouldn’t ever go back. I asked for a lake view outside seating when I made this reservation weeks ago. The food was also not that great.
We’ve been here several times and continue to come back because of the atmosphere, food, and views. I love the live music as well!
Nicely decorated nautical restaurant. Moderately priced.
Went for Mother’s Day and the Complimentary Mimosas, chocolate strawberry, and flowers were a wonderful surprise! The brunch burger was fantastic!
Very nice place, not to fancy. I would definitely go again!
Mothers Day brunch, menu very small for brunch, service and atmosphere great food not the 920’s normal standards, just about okay nothing special.
This was our second time at Pier 290. The food is OK, but not great. The presentation is just so - so. Too bad as they have a lot going for them with location and scenic view. Service was good, very pleasant and attentive. We will try it agin, just wish they would "up their game" on both food and presentation.
Over all very nice. My drink was great. All the food tasted good. All the presentation was good except one. The Apple cider chicken came and was the smallest amount of food at the table with totally bare dry chicken. Everyone else had full plates with lovely garnish. I was dissapointed. Visuals are so important
very nice place. Truly the best french toast we ever had. That good. My Eggs Benedict were average, served on potato pancakes, that was a surprise. Decent, but the day and the view were superb. I think I read somewhere they were famous for their corned beef hash. Hmm, I dont think they know what corned beef hash even is. I ordered a side, it came as tiny diced potatoes only. The waitress apologized, and then came back with the exact same diced potatoes, with a few chunks of leftover corned beef cubes on top. So no, Corned beef hash is not their specialty lol. But hey, it was a good breakfast at a fair price. Again, this place is about the million dollar view... and the French toast. Yum. Out of this world.
Great time last Saturday! The food and wine were excellent. We sat outside around the fire pit after dinner to watch the sun set. That's always a fun time. Our server was very good.
Probably a great place for drinks and appetizers.
Although our server was nice service was slow and the orders incomplete and incorrect. Second attempt was subpar quality. We have been to this restaurant many times and loved it. Maybe just an off day.
View was spectacular. Our food was good. Salmon on angel hair pasta. Food foodies, the tuna tartar was a good starter, not amazing, just good. Wait staff was really good. It is not a fine dining experience but great for the whole family.
Fantastic meal with an amazing view of Lake Geneva at sunset. It doesn't get any better than that!
To start off we did arrive almost an hour early and they did have a table open which was very nice for our 6 year anniversary. The wine list is way too extensive to make a decision and if they removed a quarter of the list it would be more user friendly. To the negative part, The staff will over serve their patrons which I personally observed an elderly gentlemen drinking two whole bottles of red wine and then proceeding to start a fight with his wife and get physical with her by grabbing her wrist violently without any of the staff saying a word to him. Unfortunately that told me that the staff was more caring about making money by selling him whole bottles of wine instead of protecting their customers and I question if your servers are trained to recognize the signs of over serving. This was not what we were expecting from a place with good reviews and living in the area my whole life. I hope the staff will receive more training after reading this review and will be able to recognize a dangerous situation before it gets out of hand.
Am here a few times a month, especially during summer. Always great food, great service and fun times.
Love this restaurant and on a very bad weather, snow and ice evening it didn’t disappoint.
We loved the view of the lake and the food was great!
Pier 290 was a great place for us to have lunch before visiting the Yerkes Observatory. The French Dip, Fish Tacos, and Breakfast Burgers were great. Great food and service.
This was not my first visit to Pier290. I would go back and would also recommend this restaurant for others. Pretty view of the waterfront and the food was good. Disappointed in our service the night we were there, however nothing a catastrophe. Had to remind the waitress of drinks ordered but not received, ask for water refills and silverware but the food was warm when received.
First time here. Very friendly staff and great service. Food was very enjoyable. Will definitely return..enjoyed the sunset and lake views.
Wonderful Easter lunch/brunch with family. Nice variety on menu, waitstaff very knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful view of lake on sunny day. Will be back!
A perfect place for ALL occasions! Excellent food, wait staff, views, ambiance!
The smokey grilled pork chop is delicious!!
Great spot to watch March Madneess but be able to retreat afterwards wonderful atmospheric sphere in the dining room for relaxing dinner.
An LG favorite for us:)
Our waitress seemed a little on edge, but otherwise the food was great!
Will be a returning customer for sure!
We all enjoyed the all you can eat fish fry. The boiled and fried fish were both excellent. We loved the potato pancakes! The service was outstanding, wonderful view, great ambiance.
Great location. Staff attentive but a bit intrusive. Decor kitschy but with some great early photos in hallway.
Steak average and average value. Bluegill fish-fry touted but average.
My wife's meal was nothing like how it was described in the Menu. Food was very overpriced.
Over-priced for mediocre food. Not impressed. The atmosphere was good, but food, service and cost did not meet my expectations.
Food is overpriced for what you get. Service was good, had to send one dinner back because it was very fatty. Could tell just by looking at it.
We had a great time at this amazing place, great service, great food and excellent ambiance... will go back there again.. highly recommend...
Food was awful sent back cheese board and tuna tartar was fishy definitely not fresh. However the lobster was on special and it was good
Appreciate being able to choose between lunch or brunch menu on Sunday. Friendly service and helpful with menu choices. Want to go back and try the Friday Night Fish Fry!
We love Pier 290 and the food this time was fabulous and great knowledge of cocktails!
Enjoyed a lovely weekday lunch at this very attractive lakeside restaurant. Fireplaces in both the dining room and the bar area create a cozy, comfortable feeling. We had the Friday Fish Fry (or broiled) special served with fries (or potato pancakes), cole slaw (or applesauce) bread and butter and delicious brandy old fashioned drinks. We can't wait to return.
Wonderful atmosphere and great food. Service was very good!
Very good. Will be back.
I found the clam chowder to be watery and over seasoned. I did not eat it and the waitress did take it off the bill, which I thought was great customer service. I had the tiger shrimp which were very tasty. The atmosphere was great. I really enjoyed the old photos in the hallway.
Pier 290 is a wonderful dining destination you have to experience. It is located on beautiful Lake Geneva in Williams Bay Wi, also home to Gage Marine. The restaurant is decorated with many antique nautical piece and the view is Second to none. finally, the reason to go there is the food and drink, which is superb to say the least. During the summer you can dine outside or inside. This is a must do if you are in the Lake Geneva area, consider a reservation at busy times !!!
Amazing diner, top quality ingredients resulted in an amazing meal. Dan, our waiter, was attentive without being intrusive. Great dining experience!
