PIER 290 offers a unique opportunity to enjoy lakeside dining on Lake Geneva. Our menu showcases local food and a wine list with producers who respect artisanal techniques.
Pan seared 8oz filet with wilted spinach, a blend of couscous quinoa and a citrus vinaigrette
Blackened tuna served with seasonal vegetables and remoulade
Vanilla bean or chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce or caramel sauce
One of my favorite places. Amazing view, delicious food and wine and great service.
Always recommend Pier 290!
Especially if you are from IL...
Great atmosphere. We had a table right by the lake. Food was pretty good overall. Tuna tartar was chopped a bit to big. NY steak was very good
While we enjoyed our evening, the food just wasn't up to the pricing. I don't mind paying for quality and the meals didn't match the price. The walleye I had was slimy and the creme brulee appeared to have been left out all day.
Our server seemed to be the only person who genuinely enjoyed taking care of her guests. The rest of the staff seemed unhappy having to be working and bothered by the guests. The food seemed rushed and no care given to the items. Our tuna app was not seasoned, the salads all came out without dressing on it and the burger was over cooked and lacking any sauce. Beautiful spot for drinks and relaxing atmosphere but the food needs work.
Pier 290 is an impressive operation! Boat store, service, pier and of course restaurant. The place is busy and offers a perfect retreat and views on Lake Geneva to grab some decent food and drinks. Tons of room and lots of staff to serve you.
Everything was wonderful the service was great and the seating was perfect
we love this place. It's one of our favorite ways to spend part of our summer afternoons.
Love that Pier 290 opened back up! We had an awesome experience and felt happy to be out aaing
We went to celebrate my hubby’s birthday with family and friends and it was perfect! Great atmosphere, excellent food and service and beautiful scenery!
Unfortunately, no one was wearing any PPE. We also did not get greeted by a server for 10 minutes. I had to waive another server down to ask for service to which that server said our server was in the bathroom...we left.
I was very disappointed that the servers were not wearing masks or gloves. We ate outdoors, but there was a band, which was way too loud and forced the servers to get into our faces to hear the order.
I've been going here for years and I like the food, but I wasn't happy with the experience.
I did feel sorry for the staff outside trying to limit capacity. People were unbelievably rude and combative.
We had such an awesome!! Everything was perfect!!
Great food and atmosphere! Good service; enjoyed the day and surroundings.
Good food and atmosphere! Felt great to feel some sort of normalcy with this pandemic going on!
First time here but very cool place and cool vibe and will probably be back!
Great place to eat and drink near the water - we look forward to returning later this summer.
Place was packed over Memorial Day weekends! You would never know there’s a global pandemic going on. Staff took no precautions such as wearing masks or social distancing. Too soon for me to be around all this with little to no protection. Strongly recommend waitstaff and cooks wear masks and you provide reassurance to patrons that proper precautions are in place.
Great food as always with the best view on lake Geneva
Celebrating a birthday
We will visit again! Fun atmosphere right on the lake.
With just opening after the shut down Pier 290 gets an A++. There was a good distance between tables, staff was cleaning tables after people left, menus were wiped down. I had no fear at eating at this restaurant. Owner came by each table thanking people for coming out to his restaurant. The food is delicious. I would tell anyone who was in the Lake Geneva, Fontana or Williams Bay Area to go and enjoy Pier 290
With all of the uneasiness going on in our area and proximity to Chicago, we have to share our experience was exceptional. Very attentive and prompt service from server. Very happy with the menu options and our shrimp appetizer and pasta and chicken entrees.
We were at Pier 290 twice this weekend. Once for lunch and another for dinner. We noticed an upgrade in both the menu items and the food preparation from last year and the year before. We had felt that quality slipped two years ago so this is good news! We had the ribs and salmon dish for dinner and both were excellent. We had salads and tacos for lunch and, again, both were prepared perfectly. The restaurant was crowded and it surprised us a bit that except for the tables being 5 feet apart, no one wore masks or maintained social distances including the wait staff. Hopefully everyone was healthy. We will be back.
Went there over Memorial Day weekend. The appetizers - fried shrimp and Spinach & Artichoke dip were good. Our entrees - Sea Bass and Chicken were awful. The sea bass wasn't seasoned and the Thai Chili sauce did nothing for the dish. The chicken was very dry and overcooked. For the money we spent we expected better food. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the lake but needs to upgrade their preparation/recipes to bring the food up to the same level.
My wife and I went on a Saturday during a tough time for the restaurant industry and they NAILED it. Great service and Great food...
Wonderful food, service, atmosphere and lakefront! What more could you want!
Ordered medium steak, it came well done. Had to ask for silverware, bread, and butter.
Great to be back out and sort of back to normal. Wait staff was great at following safety measures and taking necessary precautions.
None of the workers wore masks or gloves. Didn’t even practice social distancing with each other or customers. Had way too many people at our table (delivering food, water, giving us menus, etc). With just opening back up, would have thought they would take SOME/ANY precautionary measures. Food however was fantastic and staff was nice.
Great atmosphere! Beautiful outdoor bar/restaurant area. Food was excellent. Service was fantastic. They were conscious of social distancing as well. It was so nice to be out to a restaurant again!
Pleasant experience. Our server seemed a little high but other then that it was great!
Wonderful as always
Great view from a window table. Service was OK. Fish fry was very good.
We would have liked to sit outside, but they charge an extra $30 to sit in the igloos.
Food and service was great!
Food and service were great...view is priceless!
Fun interior and great view of the lake! This place will not disappoint
Had 7 o’clock dinner reservation and had to wait an extra 30min for our table.. it wouldn’t have been so bad if they still had there winter carnival open that we could occupy the 5 kids we had with us. For some reason they closed the carnival an hour early on Saturday night without notice on a holiday weekend. Our kids were heartbroken. Food wise the entrées that the adults ordered were great. The sea bass was very good. All the kids ordered the Mac and cheese and none of them liked it.
It was Valentine’s weekend and we went for a date night... out first time at the restaurant... but there were tons of kids and we were seated in the tented-deck area by a bar and TVs. I was hoping to sit in the actual restaurant since it was just the two of us and I had made a reservation at least a month in advance. I had hoped for a more romantic setting vs. what felt like sitting in the bar at an Outback. The food was good and the waitress was friendly.
