PIER 290 offers a unique opportunity to enjoy lakeside dining on Lake Geneva. Our menu showcases local food and a wine list with producers who respect artisanal techniques.
Food and service were great...view is priceless!
Fun interior and great view of the lake! This place will not disappoint
Had 7 o’clock dinner reservation and had to wait an extra 30min for our table.. it wouldn’t have been so bad if they still had there winter carnival open that we could occupy the 5 kids we had with us. For some reason they closed the carnival an hour early on Saturday night without notice on a holiday weekend. Our kids were heartbroken. Food wise the entrées that the adults ordered were great. The sea bass was very good. All the kids ordered the Mac and cheese and none of them liked it.
It was Valentine’s weekend and we went for a date night... out first time at the restaurant... but there were tons of kids and we were seated in the tented-deck area by a bar and TVs. I was hoping to sit in the actual restaurant since it was just the two of us and I had made a reservation at least a month in advance. I had hoped for a more romantic setting vs. what felt like sitting in the bar at an Outback. The food was good and the waitress was friendly.
The excellent experience that the staff members, including Brook (I believe she was the restaurant manager at that night) helped me out planning ahead to proposing to my fiancé, then girlfriend. Everything worked out fabulously and the night was memorable for both of us. Of course, fabulous food and great atmosphere!Thank you so so much.
Food was excellent, as was our server. The live music duo made the evening.
Get the pork chop, don’t even think twice.
Wasn’t that fond of the tented dining in the dead of winter, but over all very happy. Will definitely be back!
I took my girlfriend their for valentines day, food was good service was great, however they sat us at a table that was like cafeteria style?? the couples on either side of us were literally so close to either side of us i could hardly get into my bench to sit down. I am glad i did not wan to say anything to romantic or personal.. I would have been sharing it with 4 other people. I will only go back if we can get our own table. Their are plenty of other places in the area with as good of food.
It was a great night except we reserved an inside table and were seated outside. It was very cold. The restaurant tried to accommodate us, but was too busy. Beside that it was a great experience.
This is an awesome place with fantastic food and atmosphere.
Great food and service, loved the ambiance! The view is also very nice
Service was slow for a night with only two other tables. Food arrived cold.
Wish they did breakfast all year round. It is delicious, good choices and fantastic prices in addition to wonderful views. What could be better!
Great, love music was good. A little loud but we came later in the night. Server was great and personable. Cocktails were great too.
Pier 290 has such a great decor style and did not disappoint for a lively Saturday night dinner. It was busier than anticipated for a winter evening but fun and live music as well. The food ( i ordered the meatloaf ) was excellent comfort meal . My husbands burger was exceptional . Service was great and would go back for sure. It is a wonderful special spot that we take friends often for summer drinks and apps but this was our first dining time
Had a wonderful dinner - great service and suggestions were wonderful.
This was our second visit to Pier 290. The ambiance is awesome, service was fabulous, drinks are great & cheese curds are delicious however the food is nothing special. Even with that being said though, I would still go back!
A lovely afternoon lunch with a frozen lakeside. Stilled by the cold. The restaurant was warmed by fire and the convivial atmosphere. Though large groups populated the room, there was ample opportunity for conversation. Service was friendly and competent! A fine and friendly occasion - well supported by a convivial location.
From start to finish we had a wonderful experience and the most delicious lunch I have had in a long time. Were seated right away with a beautiful view of the lake. Had a amazing glass of the house riesling wine. We ordered the charcuterie board and the veggie flatbread which was definitely enough food for 2 people to share. Finished off with a nice cup of coffee. Server was very attentive. Would highly recommend Pier 290.
We love the atmosphere and view. We come for breakfast because the French toast is the best we’ve had. When we come for lunch, its for the pot pie as it is excellent.
Service was a bit slow. View of lake is very nice.
Such a nice place for a dinner date. It even works if you have younger kids. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The food is wonderful. We had the Vanilla bean creme brulee for dessert. It was very good.
We had a wonderful time at Pier 290. We were a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meals, the setting and energy in the room. Music from the bar was a nice backdrop to our conversation. Our waitress was engaging and attentive. We'll be back!
Always a pleasant experience
Pier 290 never disappoints! We love it there for so many reasons!
Our server Michelle was fantastic. Ambiance perfect for a couple who wants a night out. Food was on point
My husband and I were supposed to meet friends here, but they cancelled on short notice due to bad weather. We decided to brave the snowstorm and keep our reservation, and I’m so glad we did!
The restaurant was quiet, due to the storm keeping people away, but we were seated right at the window where we watched the snow fall. It was so pretty.
Service was great. Our server was very attentive (but not too much) and very quick. The only issue I had was that I ordered a spinach salad, and the spinach was not de-stemmed. A minor complaint, and maybe I’m just an overachiever for always de-stemming mine, but it just makes it awkward to eat.
Everything else was top notch, and thoroughly enjoyable!
Can’t wait to go back in the summer:)
Food was great. Service was great. Really enjoyed our experience
We had breakfast on a Saturday morning about 10 AM. Not a lot of people there - the place was about 30% full. Food was average breakfast fare . . . good but not memorable. Service was excellent. Window tables provide a nice view of the dock and lake. An enjoyable experience.
Outstanding food! Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu which was extremely helpful.
It was New Year’s Eve. Great table by fire. Lovely decor. Server was very nice but the bar was SLOW. Our drinks came after about 20 minutes. Food was good, not great. Prices too high on all food items. Surprised there wasn’t even bread served. I’d notes there was a birthday on reservation but no acknowledgment at the table. Music was good but a bit loud for conversation. This was not a great dinner night at 290. Disappointed after having a terrific lunch there in the summer.
Such a fun New Years Eve! We enjoyed a delicious dinner with 9 pm reservations. We received a copy of the special menu which was so nice. It would have been good to know the kitchen was closing at 10pm for dinner planning. They ran out of the bacon wrapped dates which was disappointing but otherwise our night was grand! The pork chop was excellent.
We love this restaurant. It’s a wonderful place for couples or for groups, for special occasions or for just a nice dinner with a nice view. Great outdoor area and equally great indoor area. You can’t go wrong with a meal at pier 290.
New Year’s Eve
The food was fast and was perfectly prepared. It was cold weather and we were seated on their open air deck which was tented and heated. We had a table against the tent wall so I was cold on one side and warm on the other. It was tolerable but not perfectly comfortable. My only small complaint.
Was new years ,so staff under pressure but it didn’t show. Little different menu, well executed. Stuffed pork chops were excellent. Salmon OK. Nice desserts. Tolerated and took care of our 3 yr old. Hard to find a restaurant with better look and ambience than this one. Menu always was weakness, but improving. Introduction of “ Fireside” Bar menu good move. Summer their real strength, but we like it all year round.
Santa cruise was great and we love Pier 290 for any occasion! Great food and ambiance!
The tuna appetizer, the clam chowder soup and the pork chop dinner were fantastic! The strawberry rhubarb cobbler was a great ending to our dinner!
Very good food, little pricey on some of their menu items but tasted great. Sea Bass was wonderful
Excellent service from our waitress, she was super.
