Very kind staff. Food was late but they made up for it by giving us half off of our food. We also got a free martini. Food was great.
Slow service and average food. It took 75 minutes to get our food.
We waited an hour and half and were served no food. Our waitress came over 2 times and apologized for the delay with no reason for meals not showing up. The manager was suppose to come over and talk to us but never showed. Thankfully our cheese curds and 2 drinks were free. We noticed 3 other tables in the restaurant had been waiting just as long.
The staff was very nice. My husband got the salmon, which he loved. My burger was just ok. They did give us a drink menu with some drinks that they no longer served. Would definitely go there again to try something else.
After reading some positive reviews about this restaurant four of us decided to try it before our theater engagement. We told the waitress so she was aware aware of this. Only a few tables were occupied. It was still happy hour which we took advantage of. we ordered two appetizers and cocktails. I noticed our waitress standing at the hostess station chatting away. No drinks. One of us went to ask. the waitress acknowledged they were sitting on the bar and then brought them over. We ordered our dinners and waited for the appetizers—Firecracker shrimp and a shrimp/crab dip in a bread bowl. Both of these were delicious. When our dinners arrived I looked at my black bean burger which looked just like a hamburger. I cut into it and it was medium rare. I had my husband taste it, and he agreed it tasted like meat. I told the waitress and she took it back. She returned to the table with the cook. He explained that it wasn’t meat but a soy-based burger that is supposed to taste like meat. I explained to him that I didn’t want a burger that tasted like meat. I wanted a black bean burger. He said they no longer have them, and he could make me something else. I asked why is it on the menu and why didn’t the waitress come and tell me before serving me something I didn’t order? Apologies, but I Explained we didn’t have the time to wait and to please take it off our bill. Our friends were happy with their dinners. My husband didn’t finish his shrimp fettuccine because it wasn’t very good. None of us will be going back to this restaurant. It was an example of poor staff training and poor management.
Ordinary food overpriced
Really enjoyed our meal. Everything was well done. We did not care for the line of tables for two against the wall. Would have been nice to have options to sit elsewhere. That is our only complaint.
Would love to go back when the patio is open
The food was good (although they were out of several items). The service was not up to par for this level of dining. The restaurant was basically empty, but service was slow. My order had the wrong side (even though I had made no changes from the menu). Servers and staff were too casual in the way they dressed and spoke.
Only four of us for an early dinner before the play. Order was messed up, only brought three dishes. Had to wait and then my fish got cold waiting for the fourth meal. Nothing was taken off. Hardly anyone else in the restaurant and only fair service. Would not return.
My husband and sons took me to Pier106 for the first time and it was a horrible experience! The waiter and service was very poor and we paid alot of money for distasteful food! Horrible and we will never go back!!!
Good location on the river. Food is ok at best; the hollandaise sauce on the steak tasted like a lemon meringue pie. Portion sizes are small and prices are high for the entrees. The portions on the kids’ meals are larger.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner and had wonderful, prompt service -- nice location, too! We'll be back!!
Excellent food. I recommend the seared salmon and the Spinach-Artichoke dip with crab and shrimp was amazing.
Lobster Mac and Cheese was outstanding! Great location, will be our summer spot.
Looking forward to going back!
Happy hour prices were great. Service by our waiter was outstanding; attentive without being bothersome. Baked walleye fish fry was fishy. Crab cake too spicy for our taste. Great location and very friendly staff.
The place was really nice. My wife and I arrived there around 8:30 and the place closes at 10pm. The restaurant was almost completely empty. There were about four people dining there when we arrived. The ambiance was great. The location of the restaurant was perfect distance from our downtown hotel. We ordered, I got the surf and turf special with a filet and a lobster tail. I ordered the filet medium and it came out well done. The mushroom risotto was okay, but came out luke warm. The best thing on our plates was the asparagus. We ordered a chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake for dessert. It was okay. Noting to write home about. Overall the food was mediocre. The wait staff was really great. I would go back and give it another try, but they better bring their "A" game the next time. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend until after I have had the opportunity to give them another try.
I have had better meals here. The lobster mac and cheese was too watery. Not very cheesy
ordered surf and turf (medium). steak came out inedible raw. had to wait 10 minutes for server to come back so i could send it back and another 10 minutes for a replacement. only good thing was that they took that off the bill. won't go back.
Our sever was great. Entrees seem a little pricey for the portion size, but food was good. Didn't care for their fancy brandy old fashioned made with apple brandy, be Wisconsin and make it the right way.
We celebrated my wife's birthday here on a recent Friday night. Our reservations were for 7:30 and we arrived a little early but were seated immediately. Our server, Michael, was prompt, polite and very professional. I ordered the walleye fish fry. It was delicious and the french fries were done just right, crispy and crunchy. The drink menu was varied as was the beer menu with plenty of options. I would highly recommend Pier 106. Thanks also for the free "birthday" dessert!
Food was excellent. Went with three friends, we ordered the halibut, salmon, whitefish and scallops and all were delicious. Server was attentive but not overbearing. Allowed us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. Wonderful dining experience.
We booked here to fill in the time between a meet and greet and showtime at the Riverside Theatre. We were early but were seated immediately. My BrandI'll ask for some y Oldfashioned was tasty and my wife's cabernet was also. Our appetizer of Firecracker (Bang Bang) Shrimp was well prepared, but I'll ask for some more sriracha in the sauce next time. I ordered the Cast Iron Scallops and my wife ordered the filet Oscar. Both were prepared to perfection. The sides of lightly steamed veggies and Risotto with mushrooms were delicious. We will be coming back for sure.
Excellent food, desert was a standout of cheesecake and turtle fixins
I had high hopes for Pier 106 because of all the good reviews. However, the dining experience went south from the beginning. I made a reservation on Open Table and requested a table next to the window. We were sat on the side where the windows were but right in front of a wall obstruction. We asked to move to the table behind us that had the window and the hostess said she would check on it and never came back. I got a glass of wine that was barely a 4 ounce pour. Then the crab bread bowl fondina appetizer came out ice cold. Once we received a new one that was hot it turned out to be pretty good. When the entrees arrived, 3 of the 4 were barely lukewarm. The flavor of the scallop dish and halibut dish was good but again, not hot. The lobster mac and cheese tasted good but the sauce it was in was not thick and cheesey. It was pretty runny and soupy. The special was a surf and turf filet and lobster which was ordered medium rare and came out well done with a rubbery lobster tail. Also it was cold. They corrected that dish and made a new one which was much better. The service was good and they did take off the appetizer and surf and turf. I would tru again because anywhere cane have an off night.
To start out the service was fantastic, We started with a bottle of wine in the bar that the staff recommended. Were seated within minutes of our reservation time. The food was not only pleasing to the eye but also to the taste buds. Will be going back here soon with some of our friends.
We ordered the lobster mac and cheese and the scallops, both were amazing!
Excellent Happy Hour. Loved the shrimp tacos. The crab cakes were the best I’ve had in years. Service was great.
Ordered the Thursday night date night special. Filet and linguini. Steak was covered in a sauce that tasted unmistakably like anise. Bizarre. And had no discernible crab meat. Linguini was average. Less of a wine sauce and closer to an Alfredo alla Olive Garden. The free bottle of wine was nice and very flavorful for a twist off. Loved the view, loved the calamari, loved the quiet.
This "Tavern" has so much to offer. The seafood is always superb and the sandwich menu is very good too. I have never ordered an entree that was not seafood, but my peaks at the meals being delivered to others tell me that the meats are good, too.
The location in the 3rd ward is great, especially if you are going to a show at one of the four venues at the Pabst; the door to the lobby and ticket office is about 100 yards from the door of Pier 106.
It is good enough to go back several times a year or more.
Great location to theater. The food was great, and reasonably priced. Good variety. We had a great waitress. The hostess was not really friendly. The only thing was, supposedly Open Table overbooked the restaurant and we had to be seated in the bar area, instead of dining room.
Our server was great!! We waited extremely long for our food, which wasn’t an issue, since we were not starving. Our server bought us a drink, which was great! The food is way over priced for the amount of food you get. I had the filet, which had this big blob of sauce on it and cold garlic mashed potatoes. The dessert was tiny and not worth the price. Only good thing was the shrimp taco appetizer and our server. Definitely need some menu improvements and prices should be much lower
Greeted with a warm friendly smile, server was spot on and attentive to our dinning needs. Food was very good. Overall a very nice evening dinner experience.
Nice place, we requested to eat at the bar and were told that they don't serve food at the bar until after 7:30 p.m.
Bartender was not very attentive and quite rude.
When we were seated and given menus, the menu wasn't the same as the one on the website. What we did order was only ok.
Waiter was good at his job and we ask industry people ourselves were understanding that none of it was his fault.
Been here several times. Overall, very good as usual. Wife enjoyed the seafood cobb and my boys enjoyed their scallops and fish fries. Clam chowder is some of the best I've ever had. Flavorful, loaded with clams, and not too thick. Only complaint was that I ordered the shrimp and scallops linguine and there was literally one scallop in the dish along with the shrimp (which were plentiful). I certainly wouldn't expect equal amounts of the two, but based on the menu description, was certainly looking for more than one. Other than that, it was a very nice pre-show dining experience. Will certainly come again.
We had perhaps the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a fine dining establishment.
Service was slow. There was a large party seated near us- probably was not staffed for it. My scallops were cold. This was my second time here and maybe my last sorry to say. Parking was also $20.
Service was very slow. 35 minutes from ordering to finally getting served and then the shrimp salad arrived with NO shrimp included. Plus, we were shoved way back in a corner next to an extremely loud table of 6 mere feet from us. The entire experience was very unpleasant, We will NOT be back.
