We love the food here and because of this we are regular diners. We feel it is best Italian on Shrewsbury St. Dined with two people who had never been and both said they would come back in a heart beat. If you care about great food and you are not fussy about high end atmosphere, you too will become a regular. Also, shout out to 4/13 dining room waitress for her exceptional service.

Piccolo's is one of our favorite restaurants. Every time we dine here, we leave with a "wow, that was amazing" feeling. They have a traditional Italian menu with all the staples and they also incorporate weekly specials (so good!). The specials are always unique and delicious! We already cannot wait to go back. Pro tip: veal parmesan is one of the best we've ever had. Finish your meal with a cup of coffee and the honey cake (made fresh), you will not be disappointed!

Food and service were outstanding. Noise level was very loud. Could not even have a conversation with spouse across the table. Too bad as this would stop me from going again.

This was our second time to dine at Piccolo's and it was just as magical as the first time. The ambience, service and food is impeccable. Traditional Italian cuisine with the freshest ingredients and pasta cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go back!

Piccolo's never disappoints. The standouts on this trip, starting with the apps, were the garlic bread served with amazing gorgonzola fondue and rolled zucchini, stuffed and baked with asiago and ricotta. The fresh mint dressing on the salad della case is excellent. For main dishes, we savored steak medallions that we could cut with a fork, served over linguine with caramelized onions and an incredible gorgonzola sauce, and ravioli stuffed with veal & ricotta. Heaven! The deserts are not to be believed. The carrot cake is indescribably good and the Snickers pie is a home run.

I do not recommend this restaurant. The food was average I expected better.

One significant complaint was the hostess. When we arrived there were 4-5 tables in use of approximately 25tables. The hostess insisted on seating us against the back wall. I asked for a table near the window and she said that was the table we were assigned to. I said you have 20 open tables I'd appreciate a table near the front windows. She was reluctant until one of the waitresses said put these nice people in my section in the front of the dining room. I guess she realized old people with grey hair (me) deserve good tables too! The hostess later seated the next pair of old people with grey hair at the table she was trying to give us..in the back of the restaurant. I'll never return to this restaurant... Old peoples money is as green as anyone else and I'd bet we tip more....

Nice little neighborhood restaurant that serves good Italian food. Good pasta, big portions. Reasonable prices. Lots of locals and regulars. Don't go here if you want to talk to your friends over dinner. It is crowded and very noisy.

Food was excellent. All four of us got different dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them. Only downside was the service. Drinks arrived randomly (10 minutes apart) and food took forever. We ordered at 7:30 (granted on a Saturday at prime time) but food did not arrive until 9:15.

We brought our grand-daughters, age 9 and 11, with us and they thoroughly enjoyed Piccolo's. In fact, they said their meals were the "best Italian food we've ever had." This is our second visit and we will probably return. On this occasion the noise level was a bit much so we would probably request a table in the entry room next time.

LOUD and Crowded. Food was good -but the seating in the bar area (which was where we were seated by the hostess, not by choice) was extremely loud - so loud we could not carry on a conversation. Food was good - service was prompt - just a very, very loud place.. so hard to have it be as relaxed as it could have been.

Food was excellent! The veal was so tender and the homemade pasta was fabulous, it was just like we have had in Italy. We were so impressed that we will bring many of our clients and friends here. Looking forward to our next meal there and to try something else on the menu.

We had an outstanding dinner at Piccolo's . As pescatarians, we had ample choices and both entrees we chose were absolutely delicious!

We began our meal with the Timballo Alla Paolo, which was rolled zucchini, asiago & ricotta, which was baked and served over marinara. This was so good we would have eaten it as a meal! Don't miss it! Then I had the Gamberi e Salmone Piccata Style which was both shrimp & salmon sautéed with capers, lemon & white wine sauce over linguine. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the lemon sauce was delicious. My husband enjoyed the Pesce Piccolomondo which came with shrimp, mussels, clams, calamari, codfish, Yukon golds, San Marzano tomato. While he felt it would have been even better if served over linguine, he didn't leave a bite.

Our bill was reasonable and our service was good. The front room was noisy, but the back room, where we were seated, was very quiet. This was our first time eating at Piccolo's, but it certainly won't be our last!

From the moment we stepped into Piccolo's I knew I had made a good decision. The owner/chef meet us at the door with a greater and welcomed us in. We were seated immediately and our server came promptly to the table, introduced herself, asked if we had any questions or needs and then offered us a drink or cocktail. Our table of 6 was given considerable attention by numerous staff members, courses were delivered without any excessive waits, table was cleaned as needed periodically and a cake for a birthday party that we had provided was served with a candle and side dishes. Nothing but good things to say.

Piccolos is in dire need of a makeover. Paint to brighten up the dark walks, new tables and chairs ,some attention to creating ambience and valet parking would go a long way to making this place a prime Shrewsbury St destination. Setting that aside, we go because the food is wonderful and service is great. veal parm and red sauce BEST around. By far best Italian resturant on the street. Too bad the atmosphere doesn't measure up.

We found the food at Piccolo's to be acceptable but nothing special. The Dining room was freezing cold and everyone seated said something about how cold it was. We had a change of servers which was awkward and resulted in poor service. The portions were very large and priced reasonably.

We wanted to try something new for a birthday dinner. After reading good reviews we ended up going to Piccolo's. We were not impressed by neither the room nor the food.
Spaghetti Bolognese: there were two HUGE clumps of spaghetti that stuck together and therefore weren't cooked through plus the spaghetti were in small pieces like cut for a toddler . Shouldn't have happened at a Italian restaurant. Main course lamb half moon pasta had no lamb in it - found one tiny minced piece. Flatbread was too crispy and the risotto was ok.

Great veal picatta, Wonderful calamari. We really enjoy this place. Food is always fresh and made to order. The waitstaff cares. The only minus is they were out of soup on a Saturday night, which we thought was odd. Not our first time, and we will be back.

We arrived early on a Wednesday evening for our Anniversary. Only one other table was occupied. We were seated immediately by a friendly hostess who was also our server. We ordered drinks & shared the fried calamari; which was cooked to perfection. Our server gladly explained a few menu items & answered our questions. I had the veal & my husband had a seafood medley. Delicious!

My husband is profoundly hearing impaired and we are able to enjoy the meal due to a low noise level and cozy seating.

The food was just ok. The price charged definitely doesn't reflect the quality of food. Beef was overlooked. The dessert tray was old and unappetizing. Service was ok. Nothing above and beyond. I don't see myself or the company I was with returning. We can get better quality for the same price elsewhere. If prices were slightly lower, i could see myself returning.

Good food not great. Very noisy and difficult to hold a conversation Parking is difficult as you must obtain a voucher to park in the real estate office in the next block. Did not know this and had to walk back a block. Should have valet parking.
