The Homemade pasta was excellent, as was the traditional meatballs with veal, pork and ricotta cheese added as a dollop.
Excellent Italian food. Excellent service. Comfortable booth.
It was excellent! Great portion sizes and quality food!
LOVE THE OLD WORLD FEEL, SERVICE WAS GOOD, FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND WE DIDNT HAVE TO WAIT TO BE SEATED... GOTTA LOVE SUMMER. 👍
Best Italian food around. Very attentive staff.
A great experience - the food was excellent, the service was great and we enjoyed the ambience.
Great spot! We stop off on our way from CT to ME for an evening meal.
The dining room is a little to chilly...only critique we have. Service is very good too!
We went here on a recommendation as we were visiting from NJ. Our table was ready when we arrived, service was fantastic, food portions enormous. Food was amazing! Everyone finished their food and was very happy! Definitely recommend
The food is amazing! Absolutely exquisitely prepared and presented. A friend traveled from Newton just for this restaurant. Friendly atmosphere in a beautifully maintained gorgeous old building - pressed tin ceiling, delicately carved schoolwork on the wood paneling, etc.
Great food, friendly, courteous service and generous wine pours.
Our family loves Piccolo’s! We have been several times and it is consistently delicious! Our last waitress Theresa was wonderful! We were there to celebrate a college graduation with 9 people. We were all served at the same time with a piping hot delicious dinner!! We would definitely recommend Piccolo’s for any occasion or just a dinner out with family and friends!!
Food so amazing! Service was just as awesome!
Food was excellent! Service was great from the hostess to our server. We will definitely be back again!
Birthday and Mother’s Day
First visit and will not be the last! Everything was top notch. Our salads, insalata Fatima, insalata bel mondo, and Caesar were fresh and very tasty. Piccolo's knows how to make a delicious bolognaise, so everything else is going to be great! My wife had the thin sliced eggplant and just loved it. Our friends had gamberi julianna - sautéed jumbo shrimp, baby spinach, maccheroni, roasted garlic, racked black peppercorns and pink vodka sauce. and pesce piccolomondo - jumbo shrimp, mussels, clams, calamari, codfish, yukon golds, little spice and san marzano tomato. They raved about the taste and quantity.
Our server (wish I could remember her name) was very informative and friendly. The only challenge is parking, but we were lucky to find a spot close by. If you have not gone to Piccolo's, do yourself a favor and go!
Living in Rhode Island and looking for a change from the normal restaurants that I go to. A coworker whom lives in Worcester referred Piccolo's - We absolutely loved this place!! Great food ! terrific wine list and top notch service. Found a new Italian restaurant!!
Two of us enjoyed their meals. My dinner, eggplant parmesan, was disappointing. Maybe a bit too thin. Not crispy enough. Sauce watery. Salad was good. Service very good. Did not have dessert, although the choices looked good. Much too noisy to enjoy conversation with friends! Probably will not return.
Place is way too loud
Although we arrived about 15 minutes early, we were told that the table wouldn't be ready for another 15 to 20 minutes, which was fine since. However, we then waited for more than one hour, finally being seated at 7:50 for a 7:00 reservation. When we entered the upstairs dining room, there were at least 8 empty tables, some still needing to be bussed, and then we had to again! After several minutes of watching a few servers cleaning up tables, we spoke to the hostess again and a server arrived. From that point on the service was fine and the food was very good. I will add that the owner did offer us food after seeing us standing around after 30 minutes, and the complimentary pizza was very good, but what would have gone a long way early one would have been to offer us a drink. I would never go there on a Saturday night because a reservation truly was meaningless.
Enjoyed the food tremendously! Our server was very good but had many guests to take care of. Our table was ready for us when we arrived but was just inside the front door in the bar area. It was quite loud and people were all around us. I would suggest a different location for such a large group especially since this was a family reunion of sorts and it was difficult to converse.
We had a group of eight on a Saturday before a show at Hanover Theatre so Piccolo's was pretty hectic.
We had a nice round table by the window and our server started strong. The food was exceptional. Everyone enjoyed their salads and entree's. Great flavors and generous portions.
Our service level waned as the dinner went on but it was extremely busy and I'm sure most of the diners were headed to the 8pm show. It's too bad we were so pressed for time at the end.
We will be back but next time will plan for a 5:30 pm reservation as opposed to a 6 pm, which was too tight.
This was our first time at Piccolos and we are enjoyed our meals. Looking forward to our next dining experience.
Food was awesome, as was service. What more can you ask for?
Dinner out with my grandmother and husband. The server was nice but needed training. Food was very good.
Mini reunion!! Best meatballs ever.
Piccolo's was refreshingly old school. I like a new, shiny, hip place as much has the next person, but there's also something that's really nice about a cozy, family establishment that focuses on the food and keeping things simple. The menu doesn't change much but it doesn't have to. I had the shrimp with vodka sauce which was wonderful. It is a bit pricey though. But made-to-order on a street with rising rent is to be expected.
We were looking forward to trying Piccolo's, but must have gone on an off night.
The Pollo Maria Teresa had a delicious lemon sauce, but some of the chicken was tough and the lobster didn't taste fresh.
The Filetto al Pepe Nero was not worth the 29.95. The filet was dry and I couldn't taste the cracked black peppercorns or the caramelized onions.
Maybe we'll give it another try in the future.
Excellent food and service, will be back. Sat in the bar area which was fine, Just a little loud
We came for Restaurant Week and Piccolos had one of the more interesting menus. I had the fried cheese ravioli to start, Caesar salad and for my entree a chicken dish made with Marsala wine, a touch of cream and fettuccine. It was exquisite. I think even with all the great Italian places we have in the area Piccolos is my favorite. I’m sure we will be back again soon.
We came for Restaurant Week and really enjoyed the food. The temperature of the room was either too hot or too cold, which was the only part of the night we didn't enjoy.
Amazing homemade pasta and the Gamberi Julianna is incredible!
Piccolo’s never disappoints! Best restaurant in the City!!! Staff is amazing and attentive!!
My mother and I went on a Tuesday night, the night of the Michael Buble concert. Since this restaurant was so close to the DCU center, I had made reservations in advance. When we arrived, we were seated right away. However, we were seated at a tiny table elbowed next to another couple, when at that time, there were plenty of other options to seat a party of two. After we sat down, the restaurant quickly filled up. Seeing how busy it was becoming, we tried to put our full order in right away, yet every time we tried, our waitress would just reply with, “I’ll be right back.” We had to flag her down three separate occasions before she would actually take our order. For being so close to the DCU center, they said they didn’t know any concert was in town and therefore were very under staffed. When we finally got our food, our meals were amazing!!! The quality of the food far surpassed our expectations! Unfortunately, what I had planned as a nice mother-daughter night out was not the experience I had hoped for. I was extremely taken back that they claimed that they had no idea such a big concert was taking place around the corner. I was disappointed in the overall experience and would only try this restaurant again if I ever was in the area and there was not a concert or venue going on at the DCU center.
We had a great meal! Went before a concert at the DCU; it was crowded but the waitresses did a great job. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. There are two rooms ..the one in the back is a bit cozier and warmer on a cold night. We will be back
Went before a show at DCU, so the location was convenient. Nothing really good stood out for these two out of towners. This gave the appearance of just a neighborhood food spot.
Michael Bublé concert. The entire staff was great with sooo many people.
We were attending a concert at the DCY center so our reservation was for 5:00. We were seated immediately and our food was absolutely delicious. The only problem
Was the staffing. Not only was there an event at DCU, but it was also restaurant week. The staff was overwhelmed and did not have enough help. Out waitress was EXCELLENT and was always so
Polite and cheery but I felt she was running around like crazy to accommodate everyone. We had to wait forever for her to finalize our check, so we got up to bring
It to the front so we could leave. Great food, cheery waitstaff and a great neighborhood gem, but plan accordingly. (Have other staff fear tables). We will return as we enjoyed the food
And I appreciated it as I cook a lot of Italian food.
Some dude sitting next to dropped a GLOCK on the floor. The Gun made a huge sound and no one came to our table to apologize or anything. we could have been hurt. it was extremely scary. also, took the waitress like 30 mins to give us our check. requested a lemon for my drink many times and never recieved it i get it was valentines day and it was busy but still.
John makes going there feel like being home....always accommodating...food is the best in Worcester
A neighborhood mainstay, Piccolo's old-school ambiance and traditional menu make for a delightful dining experience. Waitstaff was fun and informative, as were some of the regulars. Also a folksy feel at the undersized bar.
