Everything was so good - from the bread & olive oil, salad dressing to the homemade pasta!
Even on a Saturday night when the restaurant is crowded, the food is OUTSTANDING. we LOVE it. Best Italian food around :)
Seated quickly, but service was indifferent. Food was just “there” and nothng special. Waiter said we should be thankful we did not wait for one hour to be served.
We always enjoy dining at Piccollo in Newtown . It's a great BYOB. They have the Best Brooklyn pizza, and the desserts are to die for. The Owner always goes out of his way to greet us, and our waiter Brian never disappoints.
Great dinner. Owner was very attentive and interested in making sure everyone had a good experience. Food was great. Portions large and everything was freshly prepared and tasty. Our waiter was a little hard to find at times but we managed to get the attention we needed from other staff members. This is a local place in a shopping center but you get a good meal and the prices are pretty fair.
Friday night causal dining fun.
Piccolo Trattoria is a very friendly Italian restaurant. The staff are lovely and the service is prompt. Unlike many other restaurants, it offers more than one entree choice for vegetarians, in addition to the ubiquitous salad that most restaurants seem to think is sufficient for vegetarian customers. Their artisan pizzas are delicious. I really recommend their fig pizza. It has a hint of sweetness and the greens with the well chosen cheese topping makes it a very satisfying slice. They offer quite a selection of desserts. The portions were enormous. However, we found their carrot cake to be dry and over sweetened. You could barely taste the carrots. However, their cannoli more than made up for it. The restaurant is BYOB, making it a pleasant place to catch up with friends, over a nice bottle of wine or two.
Excellent Italian and seafood entrees for dinner. BYOB as well.
Very personable and friendly people. Excellent service and wonderful Italian food. Although the atmosphere is rather casual and it is possible to get a slice of pizza, it also has a really nice menu for a special dinner. The Pasta Faraj made with mushrooms in a cream sauce was every bit as good as restaurants in Northern Italy. Best Italian restaurant in the area.
Simple Italian cuisine. Don’t expect anything over the top but what you can expect is a great meal with great service. Everyone is very friendly and the soups are fantastic. Be sure to try the back wrapped shrimp. I will say I wonder if they have different cooks on different nights. But otherwise it’s a great place to go for a good meal. Plus it’s a BYOB cuts your bill in half. Usually go to just catch up with friends and can’t beat the prices. Very reasonable.
Slow service. Chicken was dry. Better options on places to eat in Newtown.
It’s ok for very casual dining. I am thinking stick with Pizza and Pasta. It’s not a place to fine authentic Italian. It’s very basic.
I just didn’t feel it. So many other local better places.
Staff very attentive. Food fresh and tasty. Entertainment was an added bonus!
Food came out one entree hot one cold.
Well prepared Italian American style chicken and pastas in a casual setting.
Once again, Piccolo Trattoria did not disappoint. Our family tends to choose this restaurant not only for many of our special occasions and celebrations, but for take-out as well. The dishes are very tasty and the service is good. There is a good selection of specials as well to pick from, which always makes choosing an entrée very difficult!! We have never had a bad meal here. Looking forward to our next visit to Piccolo!
For some reason, the restaurant was full to bursting. We had a waiter who had difficulty understanding my husbands order and then we waited for about an hour before our food was ready. This is not what usually happens when we dine there. As always, the food was excellent. When the dessert tray was offered at 8 pm, there was no selection left. Also unusual. I have no idea what was going on but something was definitely “off”.
Great Friday night casual dining.
Special seafood risotto was overpriced when compared with my expectations. This is still a suburban strip mall Italian restaurant that serves typical Italian food that one can find in any middle class suburb. Saturday night was busy and the service was poor. Hardly saw our waiter after he took our order.
I was very disappointed in our dining experience. Our waiter was new and completely unfamiliar with the menu and process of order taking and waiting on customers. We tried to work with him since we could see after a short while that his was new . Our disappointment is not with him but for the managing staff that left him on without guidance all on his own. Our night went from bad to worse when the we received the wrong entree and stale dessert cake 😟 And never got our salads that came with our entrees
Everything was spot on - great service, atmosphere, and the food was fresh and delicious! Best Vodka Rigatoni - lick your plate clean good!! Can't wait to visit again!
Always reliably good, and I like that soup or salad is included. Being a BYO is a huge draw for this place. When crowded, it's very loud. Always ask for the price of the specials, because they are 'specially' expensive, usually $10+ more than other stuff on the menu. If you sub out the pasta for a vegetable, such as spinach, be aware that there is an upcharge--around $3.50, I believe.
This restaurant is one of our 'go-to's.' Reliable, affordable, BYO, and very good food.
Service slow. Food tasty. Noisy and tables too close together
Always a good meal here. Gorgonzola and apple salad, warm focaccia bread, veal picatta, all delicious. Topped off with a cannoli and cappuccino, a great Valentines date night. My date got a rose to boot! Will you accept this rose?
We went to Piccola Trattoria for Valentine's Day. The food was excellent with very good service.
As much as I want to like this restaurant I just can't do it, it's amazing how busy it is considering the poor representation and preparation of the food, they misrepresented pasta as one kind when it was really another, the three people at the front never greeted our party, they were too busy correcting each other and never looked up once to say hello or even smile, they have been poorly trained , I understand that the owner and the "cooks" are not Italian (not even close to Italian) , that may explain why the food is not even close to being authentic, the meat was actually burned, way past overcooked, as I explained to a poorly English speaking waiter he did not "get it" and simply dismissed my concerns, we had two dishes at the table that were served this way, there are far too many better choices in this area, do not be fooled by the crowd, and forget about trying to talk to your party, it's so loud in this place especially with a "musician" playing , I have finally learned my lesson by never coming here again, it's just not worth it
Great local Friday night casual dining.
Zak was awesome! Food as always was delicious! Had the Gnocci's and they were so light and fluffy....you can tell they just made them. Piccolo house dressing is AMAZING and I always eat my whole salad.
Luncheon for a funeral
Another great dining experience at Piccollo in Newtown. We shared the fettucine alfredo and a Brooklyn pizza. Both were excellent!! Brian was our waiter (we requested him because he is the best).
My hubby and i dine there ofter over the years! Always a great meal!
As always we love it here. Excellent food. the wait staff is outstanding!!!
Great food. Personnel friendly from the moment you walk in the door. Christine is a gem of a server.. She knows what we like. Conscientious, sweet and friendly.
Excellent food and service!
Food is outstanding and they were able to serve me gluten free food
Great food and great service!
Best in the local area for casual Italian-American dining.
We had reservation for New Year's eve, table was ready on time, food was delicious and service was excellent. Highly recommend.
The meal was awesome. Food outstanding but service was a little slow.
Not a good dining experience. Food was poor, cold and overpriced.
