Piccolo Trattoria - Newtown
It was mediocre at best. Food was ok. Olive Garden is better.
We went there for my birthday with a group of 10 people. The service was great upon arrival but after we ate our dinner we decided to order desserts and our waiter had been missing for awhile. Then we they brought out the desserts they brought 1 or 2 desserts at a time which took about 30 minutes for everyone to get what they had ordered. This was my only complaint. Other then that experience it’s a must goto for food and drinks with friends and family.
Delicious food , excellent service ! Eating my leftovers today !!
Everything was great. We’ve been to the Ewing location and expected excellence from the Newtown location. We were not disappointed! We plan on going there on a regular basis.
We have recently moved to the area. I was searching for a new restaurant and I came upon this restaurant. I was happy to see it was a BYOB. Upon arrival , we were sat immediately and greeted by a very pleasant staff. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. The staff that assisted him were friendly and attentive. The food was very good and plentiful. The setting is casual and somewhat private. It was a little noisy with background kitchen noise, but otherwise good. We will be returning to this restaurant.
Food was very good. Service was also good.
Everything went well. My first time. Food was really good and we will be returning for sure.
Piccolo Trattoria was an outstanding dining experience. We were seated promptly, the service was excellent, the food was beyond our expectations, and it was served piping hot which is a real treat! From appetizers through soup and salad, entree and dessert, nothing disappointed. We will return again and again. It's one of our favorite places!
We had a part of 7. Piccolo has a very varied menu, with plenty of delicious dishes for our group, with ages 11 to 70. Thank you for a lovely Fathers Day lunch.
An excellent place for good food. Varied Italian specialties and pasta. Pizza is excellent also.
The menu has many options including gluten free pasta. The portions are large. The interior has some old world Italian charm with many ceramic dishes on the wall. Our selections were delicious. It was a bit noisy as the restaurant filled up. We will return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Piccolo Trattoria. What a pleasant surprise and I wish we had tried sooner! Who knew what a hidden gem was located in the supermarket plaza.
Once inside, the beautiful Italian decor made you feel like you were dining in Tuscany. The food was delicious and the service very pleasant. We will certainly return!
The food is always delicious with almost too many choices. The service is very good even though it felt a little rushed during this visit.
Delicious food, great service, reasonable prices. Always a great meal!
Arrived 7 pm on time had to wait for out table although plenty were open. Service was horrible. Waited over one hour for meal. Could not get wine opened. Asked several times. Last time for me
Good food - large portions
The food was great and the service was exceptional!!
Waited forever to get our drinks and food, we were there for hours
Hidden gem. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Service was attentive and accommodating. Top notch service.
I normally love Piccolo! One of my favorite restaurants but went there on Mother’s Day and they were totally swamped. The takeout line was out the door. It took a little over an hour and a half for our food. The waiter was nice and kept apologizing. One family walked out. They should have staffed better. Still a great meal!
Way too many people crammed into a small place, tables were very close together. People were bumping into my chair the whole time I was there. Service was REALLY slow. Took almost an hour for us to get our entrees. Staff was nice enough, didn’t really explain or anything about how slow the service was. Seemed polite though, the little interaction I did have with them. We were really close to just walking out. Food was fine, mine wasn’t hot by the time they brought it to me. Saw people at pizza place handling food with bare hands which was unsettling. I won’t be returning.
The food was very much overpriced. This isn't some high-end restaurant with a 5-star rating, but yet you're charging $42 for fish or $49 for lamb chops. You may be thought I went to Emeril Lagasse's place in Las Vegas. But the inside doesn't match the price and the food was lukewarm and the soup was warm and we were all afraid to send it back because it took so long to even get are appetizer and salad and soup. Also nobody likes to send food back to an overly busy kitchen because you'll never see your food. The waitress never came back to check on us or to ask us if we needed something after our dinner were provided anyway so we couldn't sit there and say hey can you heat our food for its make it hot. Really I want to give you a rating of 1 but I was gracious enough to give you two overall. Also the restaurant was not that busy at all it was more of the takeout that was busy and that should not affect the restaurant part ever. It's a delicate balance but you're paying more money sitting in that restaurant.
Sat for 50 mins without service and left. Very noisy. If you can’t handle that many reservations, don’t offer them. The staff did look like they were trying.
I knew we were in trouble when we arrived for a reservation and saw a large crowd of people waiting inside the restaurant by the hostess stand. The restaurant looked to be at full capacity with the tables only about 1 to 2 feet away from one another. We joined our friends who were already at the table and proceeded to wait and wait and wait. In the meantime we did get our water glasses filled and had a bus person bring us wine glasses. No waiter or waitress approached our table to take our order or to even welcome us. Our friend went to the hostess stand and that was the only way we were able to get a waiter at our table after waiting for over an hour. We placed our orders and again, we waited. Our meal did not come for over another hour. Our friend asked to see the manager twice. When the manager arrived, the poor woman looked exhausted. It seems she and the gentleman who took our order were the only ones working the restaurant tables I felt bad for them but the restaurant should not have taken as many reservations as it did with so little staff. The manager sent over dessert which was a nice gesture. However I have to say that I was disappointed in my meal as my salmon was quite overcooked with a very sweet sauce daddy came swimming in. In the past I’ve had delicious meals at this place but our dinner which took almost 3 hours was a disappointment. The highlight was seeing your friends again fat the restaurant could have and should have done better with staffing and limiting the amount of guests
Food was good. Everyone enjoyed it
Extensive menu. The bourbon bacon shrimp appetizer is great. It is a tough choice between that and the artichokes. I had a wonderful veal Frangelico. Excellent service by Brian
Food was so good! We really enjoyed it. Service was slow.
This was my first time back since they were closed in December due to Covid. On that visit which was the night before they were forced to close my wife and I got the special which was a stuffed Lobster tail. We were served the meal and the crab stuffing was very good but the Lobster tails were bad tasted like bleach. We spoke with the manager who apologized and offered to take off the price of the meals and give us whatever we wanted. We told him that we would just eat the crab stuffing and accompanying vegetables. He took off the cost of one of the meals and offered us desert etc which we said was not necessary. When we got home he called me to apologize again.
We had been to this restaurant many times in the past and were always pleased so we wanted to give it another chance. So Saturday night we went back with two friends. The restaurant was packed I would say 100%. Our reservation was for 7:00pm and we placed our dinner order about 15-20 minutes after being seated. We got our bread and salad in 5-10 minutes but our meals were another story. We waited about 90 minutes for our meals to arrive even though people who were seated after us were being served their meals. I asked our waitress what the reason for the delay as the table next to us was being served even though they were seated about a half hour after we arrived. She said that was because they had gotten a pasta dish and being that we had ordered fish it takes longer?
I asked to speak with the manager and was taken back to the kitchen were he was working the line and I told him about my last visit there and he said the reason for the delay was they were short staffed and to please have patience. We waited another 15-20 minutes and our meals finally arrived and low and behold our fish was cold.
I used to always like this restaurant but will not be returning and will make my family and friends aware of the issues at this establishment.
Poor slow service
Waitstaff ignored our table
Always a good meal
Try the veal Marsala
Always a good meal here. With good service and courteous staff.
Met friends here after a local winery visit. Felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Seated immediately and bread and water on the table. Food was the issue. The manicotti was enjoyed immensely, but the gnocchi and spaghetti with clam sauce fell flat, giant tough gnocchi overwhelmed with underdone eggplant. The clam sauce on the spaghetti was bland and dry. We enjoyed the evening but with the food had been more consistent.
Food and Service was outstanding..
Last minute dining choice but you can’t beat this neighborhood strip mall restaurant that is actually nicer than a strip mall restaurant. And it’s BYOB! We were very please with out entrees the service was excellent and oh yes, it’s BYOB.
We will be back.
In business here for 20 years so doing something right. Try the Bolognese or the pizzas. BYOB which is a plus.
Food was outstanding....cannoli's were the best we've ever had.
We had a party of five. Had reservations. Got seated as soon as we got there. Service was great. Food was fantastic! Will definitely be back. And will recommend to family and friends.
Always have great food and service. THe owner came out to say hello which is always nice as well. Its a local gem and we hope they continue in this virus age and do well.
It was kind of "meh". Food was ok. I hadn't been there in years and was disappointed in the food.
