Piccolo Trattoria - Newtown
Great Friday night local casual Italian American dining.
Goof food. Prompt service. Relaxed atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Wish they had a liquor license, but it is BYOB.
Very good food in a casual atmosphere. Portions are substantial and prices reasonable. Nice that it is also BYOB.
My husband who is picking said this was the best Italian food he has ever eaten. Our waitress was so friendly.
It was ok!!!
This was my first time at this restaurant. Honestly....I am not impressed. There was too much noise. My pasta Bolognese tasted like the sauce was from a jar. The waitress that took away the salad plates did not speak English and did not know what I was saying...I needed a fork. Kids were screaming everywhere. I guess this is good for families...but I don't think I would return.
We dined here with friends and Tara are weight person I knew that one friend had to be out at a certain time. The food was delicious the calamari grilled and fried we’re both super with fat pieces of calamari. The bread is always excellent at this restaurant and the entrée dishes are always superb. However what made this night perfect was the excellent service we received from Tara she is very professional and detail oriented it was a pleasure dining at her table this evening.
We eat there frequently and the food is consistently great. This time the waitress ha a bit of trouble listening to special instructions.
Great service and food. Excellent for a large party.
Food was wonderful. Table was by kitchen. Waiter was elsewhere
Mother’s Day, it was a great time.
Wonderful Mother's Day brunch! Going to this restaurant for more than 10 years but it was a first time that we attended a bunch. The food was not a buffet quality. It was delicious! Salads were outstanding! Ribs were so delicious that we went many times to grab more.. Thank you for the best experience!
For a BYOB restaurant, it shouldn’t have taken our party of three 1 1/2 hours to get through a simple dinner which took so long we just asked for desserts to be wrapped for home. We ordered no drinks (brought our own), nor did we order apps. Our server never stopped up selling add-ons to the dishes which were overpriced compared to other Italian restaurants in the area. The flavor wasn’t bad, but for a $26 shrimp pasta dish, I would expect more than four shrimp!
The restaurant was way overbooked
Service once seated poor .
I would never return
Great food, great service. This is my dad's favorite spot to order Chicken Parm!
The restaurant was very noisy. You could not even hear the gentleman singing during the dinner.
It was ok
Nothing to write home about
Convenient for us & not crowded
Love the food and choices, always fresh and satisfying.
We went during restaurant week- or what was supposed to be restaurant week. When we arrived on Sunday, we were told that they actually aren’t doing restaurant week until Monday-even though their menu and the website said it was staying on the actual start date of 4/28. Apparently there was some sort of mix-up on their part with the planning.
As for the food-it was okay. Nothing to rave about, but it was typical decent Italian food. I was a little disappointed that even though they didn’t have the Restaurant Week menu they didn’t try to accommodate for any deal for their mix-up. We ended up paying around $88 for two entrees and a shared app, instead of the $70 for 2 starters, 2 entrees and 2 desserts that restaurant week promises.
We went for the Bucks county Restaurant week that started on 4/28/19. Our server told us it did not start this restaurant until Monday. We should have left, instead we ordered . Food was TERRIBLE.
the antipasto salad we started out with was disappointing the meats & cheese was what you get in a hoagie'Plenty of lettuce. The pasta fassole soup was tasteless. Linguini Pescatore, was mostly tiny overcooked mussels. We asked to speak to a manager twice, our water told us that he was not available.
The meal was a disgrace, will not be back.
This restaurant is consistently good! It is a great family place, fun date venue, and it is BYOB!
Consistently good local casual dining.
Took my wife here for our anniversary. They sat us by the kitchen when there were many other seats around. I did mention ghat it was our Anniversary at time of reservation.. would have liked to have been sit away from the business of the kitchen. Food was really good, not over the top. Staff was very nice .
There were 6 of us who dined. Most raved about the quality of the food. The specials were quite good. I had the chicken marsala and found it to be a bit salty for my taste. The gnocchi was very good.
Stopped in for their fabulous Brooklyn Pizza. It's the best. They use all fresh ingredients.
Our server, Brian, was great. Always attentive and polite.
Nice quiet local byob, decent food and service. Nice red gravy!
Excellent food and great service.
Excellent value. Entrees come with salad or soup (GET THE PASTA FAGIOLI!!) and a bread basket with the most amazing tomato bread ever. Serving portions are good and the quality of ingredients is very good as well. For lunch sit in the front of the restaurant and get a plain slice or a piece of Brooklyn pie. Both awesome.
Local neighborhood casual dining at its best.
Was most recently at Piccolo Trattoria - Newtown this past week. It was a Wednesday night so not very busy and the noise level was non-existent. The food was delicious, as in previous visits. Our server, Ryan, was excellent. He provided enough attention to us to let us know we were important to him but he was never overbearing or intrusive. While the restaurant itself was not very busy, business at the take out counter was pretty steady. I have been here on weekend nights and it is quite busy then. I definitely recommend Piccolo Trattoria - Newtown and will definitely be returning in the near future.
Food is consistently very good. Wide selection of dinner options, sandwiches and salads up to fish and steak specials.
Restaurant was a bit congested and wasn’t comfortable. Too many tables crammed in a small space.
Amazing food and service. All our pasta were freshly made with amazing home made sauces. The home made gnocchi with the aurora sauce was heavenly.
Great casual dining with a little something for everyone. The Italian-American staples are really nicely done (best chicken parm around) and there are other more fine dining offerings as well (excellent porcini arancini).
Dinner at lunch time. Great sauces on veal and chicken and enough leftover for lunch the following day.
Big baby shower made it noisy but that would not usually be the case.
Very knowledgeable waiter.
This is a BYOB-only restaurant, meaning they have no alcohol on hand whatsoever. This should be advertised more clearly.
I had made a reservation and when we arrived at 5:00, the restaurant was not that crowded. We were seated all the way in the back of the room in the last booth that was next to the entrance to the kitchen and next to the area where the servers placed their orders and got plates, glasses, etc. It was a high traffic area. There was no need to seat us there because there were plenty of open tables further away from the kitchen entrance. We asked to move to a booth but there was no room for our coats and with no coat room, we had to ask to be moved again. Our server was curt and commented that everything on the menu was good but didn't offer any details regarding the entrees. (it was our first visit). The pasta entrees with rather small but the chicken entrees were quite large. The noise level was quite high at that time of the evening. I can't imagine what it must be like when the restaurant is full of customers.
Reasonably priced, quick service and very good food. The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer is excellent and the vodka cappellini was excellent.
