Piccolo Trattoria- Doylestown
We come here on 'non occasions' by ourselves and meeting friends and love the menu and staff. NYE 2018 was our third year here because it is such a good deal! Invited additional friends this year and they loved it as well. CONGRATS to the chef and staff!
Food and service was great! Celebrated Christmas Eve dinner with family. My husband enjoyed the traditional Italian seven fishes, I enjoyed the chicken piccata and the rest of our family enjoyed what they ordered.
Family Annual Hoilday Dinner
Great food always a nice visit
Food was fine. Waiter was always showing up at table. I didn’t even have my drink yet and he was back several times asking to take our order. The salad arrived before the appetizer and we were not half way through the salad when the app arrived. I asked him to slow things down. Never asked if we wanted more wine, coffee or dessert. Just left the check. We did say we wanted coffee and was served. I will not be back to this restaurant. Dropping $100 and being rushed is not how I dine out
Food and service were fantastic. Definitely coming back!
Everything was excellent. Food was great, server was also very attentive.
As always, wonderful ambience and food. There were challenges with seating as we waited 25 minutes for our table (with a reservation). Not sure what the issue was but many others experienced the same challenge.
Overrated and overcrowded. We had reservations at 6:30 for 4. There was a line out the door of people giving their names. I had to push my way to the beginning of the line to let them know I had a reservation. We did get seated right away. It took 10 minutes for waiter to come over and ask for our drinks. Service was very slow throughout the evening. Waiters seemed overwhelmed. My friend's knife was dirty. Had to ask 4 times for a new knife before she finally got one. Calamari was excellent. Seafood bisque was okay but had way too much salt in it. I felt like my blood pressure was going up. Friends liked their entrees which was Veal Parm. However, I got the stuffed shrimp for $25.00. Shrimp was cooked too long because it was dry and tough. I could barely cut it. It was also very salty. Waiter wasn't around so I didn't say anything. Waiter never came to ask if we wanted coffee or desert. I had my credit card on the table BEFORE we even got the bill. All of a sudden the owner comes over and snatches it. I quickly said we never got the bill, but he kept on going. He came back without a run down of the bill, just the total and charged the whole bill on my card when we were going to split the bill with our friends. Very rude. Then people came over to wipe off the table before we could even get up. Apparently, there were people waiting for the table. Wow...so rude. Never again.
Excellent service and food. I had Chicken Milanese and the breading was perfect and buttery, and the salad had a nice combination of greens including spinach. The dressing was light and perfect. I would definitely go back again!
Food was excellent. Didn't seem like they had enough servers. Waitress seemed distracted and made some minor mistakes. I would definitely go back and recommend this place.
Really poor service. Decent food and prices, but the level of service was inexcusable.
Service staff and front desk seem very disorganized. Training needed
Their Sunday brunch is outstanding.
Clarinet player was good but too loud. Waiter didn’t speak English well and brought the wrong food
Excellent and affordable Sunday Brunch!
Everyone was warm and friendly and the food was great!
Will definitely be back.
We read other reviews regarding cool temperature in restaurant so we brought jackets and were very comfortable.
Food was delicious- temperature in the restaurant was similar to a freezer. Very uncomfortably cold.
Our second visit since this restaurant opened and they have definitely worked out any service issues other diners previously reported. As a matter of fact, they have a lot of staff and the service was excellent. Our dinners were delicious (we both had veal entrees) and the portions very generous. My one and only concern is the restaurant was freezing. It was a very humid 90 degrees outside so it never occurred to me to bring a sweater or jacket, but obviously frequent diners were in the know. Many people brought or went to their cars to grab jackets. The staff was well aware of the chilly air, but told us they cannot do anything about it because if they raise the temp, the condensation in the restaurant becomes a major problem.
We will definitely return (perhaps after the air conditioning weather) because the menu/food is excellent as is the service.
The food was fantastic but unfortunately the restaurant was freezing cold and our dining experience was ruined as a result. We made a complaint but nothing was done to increase the room temperature. If anything, it seemed to get colder.
It was absolutely freezing cold inside the restaurant due to the air conditioning. I was told there was nothing they could do about it. I guess that’s why they had no customers.
This was our first time at this restaurant. We had a reservation at 5:30 pm but got there early, and for some reason confused the hostess. She in turn cancelled our reservation on Open Table. The restaurant was freezing cold and when we mentioned it to the manager, he made a joke and did nothing to accommodate our request. The waitress was pleasant, but we had to ask for salt and pepper, and bread. After we had already ordered, I heard the servers tell the other tables about the specials; which we didn't even know there were specials. The food was mediocre, and the portions were a little skimpy. There are too many other restaurants we can go to, so we will not be returning here.
Nice, casual dining experience. Come hungry, the portions are large enough to share. Good, reasonable wine list and menu. Price very reasonable. I would eat here again!
Service was Horrific! Never told of any specials. Never received salads prior to our entrees. Dirty plates left on the table. Never offered dessert tray just asked for a cannoli while dirty dishes left on table.
The food was delicious but the restaurant staff seemed to be short handed for a Saturday night. We had to request utensils and appetizer plates when needed from our server. We enjoyed the live music and may go back.
Always enjoy great Italian food. The people are nice and the food is wonderful.
Been to this place many many times - love the food , the waitresses are great. But the true Stars of this place are the bus boys , no kidding they don’t stop moving - they work hard. Great job guys
Took my husband here with some family for his birthday. Outstanding service, food and the birthday cake presentation. Hope to go there for my birthday too!
The website states BYOB it is not.
The waiter (D) was either not suited for this job or having a bad day and we were the recipients of this.
We were disappointed.
The food was average.
I asked to speak to the Manager about my experience, after waiting 10 minutes they told me that they could not find her and had a waiter come to speak with me, he seemed bothered by my comments and offered no resolution to my concerns other than “sorry”.
We will not return.
April, our server, was excellent. It was a holiday and they were short staffed but you wouldn't know it. She was attentive, pleasant and efficient. We go here fairly often and it is consistent each time. The menu is great and so is the food. The wine list has has plenty affordable options including a Sangiovese for $30. You won't leave hungry.
The food in the main restaurant is always fresh and very good. Portions are generous - you will probably take some home. The pizzas are excellent but the calzones and Stromboli are kind of skimpy on the fillings and too dry. We often take friends and family from out-of-town here and everyone has enjoyed it.
Bread and dipping sauce delicious. Calamari to big a little rubbery. My filet was not medium it was well. Staff could be more friendly.
My first time at this restaurant. The food was excellent. I highly recommend it.
We went for Mother's Day, but did not know there there was a Mother's Day only menu. We booked on Open Table and they never told us it would be special menu only. The prices were double and more than the normal prices for the same dishes. It was completely a rip off. The Marsala was salty as anything, and hardly edible. The waiter was nice, but overcharged us by not including the salads and soups in our meal. The food was not so amazing. I feel they took full advantage of Mother's Day, and charged as much as they could, and they did. I do not think we will be going back.
There 5 of us for Mother's Day dinner. 3 adults and 2 children. All of our appetizers and our entrees were bland. I had filet with a mushroom demiglace but the porcini mushrooms weren't rehydrated enough so they were a weird consistency. Husband had fettucini Alfredo with chicken..no flavor. Son had spaghetti and meatballs, he said that was good. Other 2 kids liked their entrees.
We had collosal shrimp grilled with panko crumbs and fried calamari. Absolutely NO FLAVOR.
The total was over $200. Not worth it, save your money and go elsewhere.
We've been here a few times now. Food is a solid "Good" not quite great. Sounds silly but their house salad and balsamic dressing and focaccia bread/bruschetta is fantastic! Went on Mother's Day this time and they had a limited menu. I think the entrees are a tad overpriced, and I wouldn't go again for a special occasion; just needed a last minute reservation and this place worked out.
Mother’s Day Brunch
The service and food was amazing. There was a problem that Open Table let us book before the restaurant was actually open. They were very accommodating and gracious.
We had a table of 7 for an early Mother's Day dinner. The food was fabulous, and the portions were generous. The waitress was very nice, and attentive. I would definitely go back.
Very nice. We’ll be back
