We enjoyed our dinner tonight while entertaining friends. When we made our reservation, we noted that we were celebrating our friends’ anniversary. The waiter brought a decorative plate of biscotti at the end of our meal with “happy anniversary” written in chocolate. Salmon was fantastic!

This is one of the great restaurants of Chicago. Beautiful surrounding. Wonderful food. Memorable. We go for special occasions. In the summer time there is no more romantic spot in Chicago.

If you’re looking for really good pasta and pizza go here! If you’re looking for a quiet romantic spot this is not it (at least not on a Friday or Saturday night). The place was packed so tight I felt like I was going to get hit every time someone walked by. But that’s ok. Can’t blame them for packing them in. As far as the service: I could barely understand or hear my server. He was gruff and had zero personality and even made us feel super weird when he demanded we place our order all at once because the kitchen was busy. Totally fine but the way he addressed it made everyone at the table feel awkward.

Had an excellent meal and the experience was very comforting. The waiter was quite knowledgeable about wine pairings and recommended 2 perfect choices for dinner and dessert.

The boar sausage appetizer was wonderful. Get it. I had the short ribs. It was very good. However, if you have a salt issue, it is very salty. I paid for that over night. The fish special was presented beautifully and our friend loved it. The ox tail tasted really good.

The meal and service were fantastic. I was meeting someone I hadn't seen in a long time and the waiter allowed us to have a leisurely meal with a slow pace. It was lovely!

The food was awful. I lived in Italy. I know Italian cuisine, especially the dishes I ordered. The entire meal was terrible.

Two main issues:
1. Had an 830pm.rsvp. Lobby was way crowded when we arrived. Checked in at 8:22pm. Told us will be a few mins as they are setting a table ready and to go to the bar. We weren't seated till 9, half hour after our rsvp. Understand it was vday and busy, but what's the point of planning and doing an Rsvp if that much longer?

2. Ordered the old fashioned pointing at the drink in the menu at the bar while waiting. Menu clearly states ingredients and type of booze. Instead of makers mark, bartender poured rail whiskey. I saw him make it and asked why it was rail and not makers. He seemed "confused" and I showed him the menu. He remade it. But come on, you make the same menu drinks all the time... Wondered how many other people they cheated on the drinks that ordered from waiters, and couldn't see it made.

On top of it, food was average at best. The vday special ravioli had no flavor and barely any crab meat in it. One and done. Would not go back. Wasted appx $150 on a poor experience and sub par meal.

Great start with warm breads, aged balsamic, EVOO, and freshly grated cheese. Loved the chick pea "fries", four cheese ravioli, and lamb meatballs. Great finish with chocolate dipped strawberries (complimentary for Valentine's?). Excellent service. Looking forward to next visit.
