The food was rivaled by the attentive service and the food was excellent. I did use open table to request a birthday dessert for our guest, but the request must have been lost as I then had to ask in front without the surprise--other than that it was wonderful.
I was here for Marathon weekend. The place was packed and a great vibe. Food was delicious and fresh! Was a great place to carb load the night before.
Great food and great service. Even with the Chicago marathon happening that weekend the food was spot on and the service efficient.
I honestly had higher hopes for the food. Our party of 6 all felt the pasta was a bit hard and/or strangely textured. The bread was the highlight and my friend's salads were good - they had the same one. The cheesecake was even strange in texture. It was not light or fluffy, nor creamy. It had the texture of like.. polenta almost. While it tasted fine, the texture wasn't my favorite. The place was packed, probably due to popularity and it was the Chicago Marathon weekend, so it was a bit loud and very crowded. The tables were tight. All in all, I don't think I'd recommend to my foodie friends, but perhaps we all just ordered incorrectly.
As Tony the Tiger says, “it was grrrrrreat!”
The only issue I have is how tightly they place the tables. We were put right next to a table that we actually sat right against the side of the other table.
The calamari was awful and we should have sent it back but didn’t. That put a bad spin on the rest. The ambiance was nice the cocktails were generous and service was good. Expensive and I probably will never go back.
The food was very good, but the service was awful. We waited more than ten minutes before our drink order was taken, the we waited more than another 20 minutes for our order to be taken. And finally we had to stand up to leave before they rushed over with our bill.
EXCELLENT FOOD, EXCELLENT SERVICE, AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE, HIGHLY RECOMMEND, THANK YOU FOR A GREAT EVENING!
I love this place, so when my husband asked me where I wanted to go for our anniversary, it was an easy decision. I was especially thankful when our anniversary arrived and it looked like we might be able to eat outside. This is easily the best outdoor restaurant space in the city! It was a bit chilly but all the heat lamps were on and it was so comfortable! The service and food were incredible!
Beautiful courtyard with heaters
Very good service; seated where requested. Food quality very good and tasty.
Absolutely the best service we've experienced! The food was the finest fresh ingredients & savory sauces.
My second time being here and the second time was even better. Amazing hospitality and service. Food was amazing. Such a great date night spot. Will absolutely be back.
Pasta and Pizza did not feel fresh. Ravioli especially were hard and not what I have had at Picolo before.
Excellent meal and the selections by our waiter were on the spot. Not the best value but worth the cost. Definitely coming back. Ask for Franco as your waiter.
Not sure what all the hype is about. The food was nothing special and the service was far from impressive.
On the garden on a nice evening is always a good idea. Food is good, a excellent professional staff. Can be a little crowded at times and definitely prefer ambience out on the garden.
First time here. It was a beautiful fall night so everyone was on the patio. Fairly loud and the tables were packed in tight, but the service was excellent and the food was nearly as good!
Consistently excellent classic Italian food, nice selection of wines, and great service. This time I was there for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday although the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere for a group celebration or date night. For outdoor seating, the patio is a slice of heaven in an urban setting. We started by sharing a caprese salad and the calamari which was grilled to perfection. Two favorite entrees are the lasagna if you are in the mood for pasta or the grilled salmon if you prefer seafood. The lemon custard for dessert was delicious. Will continue to return to Piccolo Sogno!
Overall an enjoyable experience. This was my second time eating there and the food has been great. The service is good, but the courses can be a little too quick in being delivered to the table. My guests had never eaten there and enjoyed it. The patio is nice when the weather is good. I would definitely go back to this restaurant.
Everything was great except it is hard to have a conversation bc it’s so loud
Food is always great, staff is very friendly, and bar seating and service is perfect!
I had high hopes for this place, but my entire experience was disappointing. Our meals came late—my family and I ordered our main meals before 8 (at this time, we had already finished the appetizer), and we did not get our meals until 8:45. We were waiting for a long time. By the time our food came, no one was apologetic. The food did not equal its value. Most of what we ordered was bland. I thought this place would live up to the hype, but it did not.
Great meal in beautiful outdoor setting
Great food and service
Piccolo Sogno has the best outdoor setting in Chicago accompanied with the most delicious Italian food options and great specials every day.
Amazing experience! Amazing service and staff!
The outside is the most amazing ambience! The food and service are both amazing.
Fab food, fab ambiance, fab service, fab place to gather with friends or a romantic dinner for two.
lovely meal and setting. Service great, friendly staff
The branzino was amazing!
This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Chicago! By far the BEST Italian food in Chicago! I highly recommend experiencing this restaurant!!
Ciro and Tony created magic and named it Piccolo Sogno. All these years later, the consistency, quality and experience have never diminished. We love going here.
My husband and I are both Italian American and it is one of our favorite places to dine in Chicago.
Everything from top to bottom was incredible. Very good place for a date!
We’ve eaten here several times. Always excellent.
Our server was really nice however, his assistant was rushing us through our orders. Instead of picking out a few, popular dishes for our reference, he sped thru the most expensive items and just stood there, clicking his pen. In our Uber home, our driver said that he’s yet to pick up a happy couple/group from Piccolo Sogno, which was interesting. The duck I ordered was over salted and everything else was very meh. The patio was, however, beautiful. Would not return and will not recommend to others.
The Mediterranean Sea Bass was excellent. I also had a mixed green salad, dessert and coffee.
Service was good. Ambiance was fantastic. We sat outside, under a tree.
