I went to dinner here and it was excellent everything cooked to perfection. The desserts were pure decadence. I will certainly be back and encourage anyone who is thinking about it to give it a try! It is an Italian restaurant but don’t just call this a pasta place, they have fish and meat on the menu as well. Perfection!
One of the best Italian places out there!
We love coming to dinner at Piccolo Sogno - wonderful food, great wine and fun neighborhood atmosphere. Great spot for a date or a celebration.
Any restaurant that carries the Fileno Grillo from Canicatti is entirely "Italian"authentic. Put this restaurant on your list to try, you won't be disappointed.
The food was amazing. The restaurant was packed though and they really jammed everyone in there - probably because of restaurant week. The service was great. Would definitely go back!
Piccolo Sogno has tremendous food.
The staff are attentive.
The ambiance if you're in the main dining room is very nice. If you are in the porch addition it's cold and noisy.
The noise is an issue. We've had three meals there now, and when it starts to fill up with people the noise is insufferable. Our first visit, two years ago, was so bad we hadn't been back until a couple weeks ago. We were seated two feet apart across the table and couldn't hear each other talk.
Then two weeks ago we arrived at 5pm and had a nice meal in the main dining room. Then two days ago we returned, and were seated in the addition. This started our OK, except it was cool. But as soon as the tables filled up the noise became prohibitive, and we left instead of ordering dessert.
Please find a way to deaden the sound reverberation. I would love to consider Piccolo Sogno a "go to" restaurant.
Piccolo Sogno is one of my favorites Italian restaurants. The food is consistently outstanding, the ambience is beautiful and the service is impeccable.
Loved the restaurant week menu and our sever was great!!
Food was just average, good but nothing special. Service was fine. Overall is bit over priced. Have been there several times and food was good, but this time was disappointed in the dishes we ordered. Love the convenient parking lot right in front and that lunch parking is complimentary , so would definitely recommend for lunch.
The service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. We tried a salad, pasta, pizza, AND dessert and loved them all! The ambience is cozy and quaint. We will certainly return!
Went to celebrate my birthday on Sunday night. My cornish hen (same as my husband's) was VERY chewy. I did not send back as was starving. The waiter had an attitude and pretty much ignored us most of the night.
We had a wonderful meal all around, only tempered by a very loud and boisterous table behind us.
This is my FAVORITE place!! Food is amazing, service is always wonderful!! Everyone is nice!!
Food was great, as was service. There was a very loud party next to us, to their credit they moved us to a better location to finish our dinner. Will go again. Loved the special and homemade pasta
Fritto Misto was delicious - excellent light breading. Pasta was good, albeit quite dense. Bread plate on table was covered in oil when we were seated and. Is boy didn’t seem to care when we pointed that out. Server was cold and a bit snobbish from the get-go. Not attentive, not helpful. Guess I might try it again? Not sure.
The special risotto was excellent.
I'd forgotten about this little gem until a friend suggested we go there. The food was excellent...true Italian. Portion sizes were perfect. The staff was friendly and service was outstanding.
Never disappoints! Long leisurely lunch with a client friend, the owner always makes a point of checking in on various tables and makes you feel so sincerely welcome. If you've never tried this place, try a late lunch for a more relaxing time or late happy hour for a bit more buzz. Casual to dressy you will always be treated as the only customer there. They really do care about your total experience!
Always great service and food. Our favorite place!
Food was great. I didn’t realize I ordered a $200 bottle of wine. I believe the server misheard me. The wine was amazing. But I’m surprised for such an expensive bottle. They didn’t double check with what’s on the menu.
Fantastic. Great food and service. A destination.
Birthday! Just a lovely evening at Piccolo Sogno last Sunday night! I did think the prices for the pasta dishes were high and should be lowered to the teens.
Wonderful!! The server, Jose, was the best.
Great food and excellent service as always! I would recommend the caprese salad the tomato’s are roasted...best I’ve ever had!
Always on point, almost to a fault. To a fault because I never try something different. There is no other restaurant that does branzino as well as PS! So I know when I am there I am eating the best branzino in the Chi! In addition the service is aways exceptional too. I say I like xyz" about a wine and in 1 taste they nail it!
We were at Piccolo Sogno for an early New Year’s Eve dinner. Certainly not a place to go if you are looking for a quiet dinning experience. This past summer we ate here and sat outside. It was busy but not annoying like the other evening. The food was excellent and will return but during the warmer months.
This dinner experience made our night kick off in the best of ways. The food and service was amazing. I need to frequent this establishment more often.
Had a reservation at 7:45 and did not get seated til 9:05
Birthday dinner with family; food and service great; too long a wait but it’s very popular so understood
Great as always. Well trained staff and great food.
It was OK! I wished I had ordered something else though.
We went to Piccolo after the Symphony, and we're glad we did. A friend at work recommended Piccolo and when I started folks I was going there, they confirmed it was a great place. So my expectations were high when I got there, and they did not disappoint! We were seated promptly and greeted promptly. We ordered a pizza for an appetizer which was excellent and I got the pasta special, which was superb. Our party of 6 all ordered something different and everyone enjoyed the meal. Service was impeccable. Their was no shortage of wait staff and as soon as we even looed like we needed something, somebody approached us as delivered. I can't say enough! I recommend you go an experience it your self. Simply put, the food and service was excellent. The two main things I look for when dining out.
We enjoyed the table setting, very cozy for date night. The food was cooked to perfection, The waiters, staff and bar service were outstanding.
Piccolo Sogno is a gem! They never disappoint! From the service to the main meal to the dessert and after dinner drinks! They do it right!!!
Christmas cheer with friends
From the booking process, to being seated, to the service and the food, everything was spectacular.
First off I want to give a huge thank you to the restaurant. I had informed them that we were on a time crunch, and at every point of the meal, they made sure that was was kept in mind so we had an amazing experience even with a limited time frame. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, respectful and overall a delight to chat with.
For 4 people the meal cost around $55 a person including tip but value you got for that price was perfect. 3/4 diners had a fabulous Sicilian Red Wine, we shared 2 appetizers both were absolutely delectable (1.Polpo, 2. Caprese salad w/ unctuous 15 year old balsamic vinegar), and had 3 entrees (1. Veal Milanese, 2. Anatra Arrosto, 3. Gnocchi), and shared an Italian Mille cake desert with espressos. Describing the flavor of each dish would be too long for this review, but to generalize all together, my fiance has now found her new favorite Italian place here in Chicago.
Thank you for an amazing experience and we will surely be returning hopefully very soon.
Good food but way too noisy
So very disappointing. Not sure which was worse.... the food or the service.
Will not recommend EVER
Excellent bday celebration. Food & service outstanding & best table by window! Thank u
