About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Great for outdoor dining
  • Charming
Our name, which means “little dream” in Italian, was chosen by partners Tony Priolo and Ciro Longobardo because it had always been their dream to open a restaurant of their own. “The restaurant fits our personal goal to get to the heart of Italian wine and food,” says executive chef Priolo. “You go to Italy for simple food prepared by hand with local ingredients. We wanted to bring that experience to Chicago.”

Piccolo Sogno features a menu of seasonally fresh rustic Italian cuisine. The impressive all-Italian wine list boasts over 400 selections to pair with your meal.

When the weather allows, enjoy al fresco dining in the hidden garden patio-regularly recognized as one of the best in the city.

Starting December 1, Monday-Thursday we'll open at 5 pm rather than 4 pm.

You are welcome to bring a cake to celebrate. If you do, we will charge a $3 fee per person cake-cutting fee.

Beginning January 1, all credit card transactions will be charged a 3% fee.

Restaurant rushed appetizers. It is supposed to be high end restaurant—let diners enjoy each course

Loved the atmosphere. Definitely sit on the patio. Lovely. Like the ability to order appetizer portions of the pasta dishes. Great way to try a couple. Wine was great and reasonable priced with great options. But the food was just fair. Pasta was overcooked and greasy.

Order was incorrect again. The food is expensive for what you're getting. The service and the Manager is one of the rudest service employees I have ever met. Never again.

Once again, our afternoon at Piccolo Sogno was outstanding! Felt like we were transported to Italy to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday with our family. The stuffed squash blossoms were a perfect starter…and my whole roasted branzino with citrus sauce and charred asparagus was to die for! I tasted other people’s dishes and each one was better than the last. Our server, Sara, had only been there a few days but she seemed like a seasoned professional…and her family came from the same area as my husband’s which made everything that much sweeter. The patio was beautiful as usual…so we didn’t even mind the heat! So glad this place is still what it has always been…GREAT!🥰

Lovely evening. Great service. Delicious food. The Branzino was cooked perfectly. Our waiter, Rueben was a 10. I love summer evenings at Piccolo Sogno. They never let us down.

Food is always good there. They have a very large outdoor, covered patio which really adds to the ambiance.

Absolutely amazing! Chef Tony outdid himself, the outdoor patio is the perfect Chicago hideaway, the branzino and the pasta were phenomenal. 20/10 recommend!

Had: Caprese salad. It was very good with the 40-aged balsamic vinegar which is advertised bottom right of menu. Ravioli “Piccolo Sogno” was pretty bland and had a harder bite than Al dente. Uncooked. Needed cheese and fresh cracked black pepper to bring out the flavor. Tonnarelli “Cacio E Pepe” was a letdown for my night unfortunately. The pasta was not its usual eye appealing white and cheesy texture. It was brown with red undertones. If you let the pasta sit, the sauce curdles almost looking like beans and leaves an oily puddle. Turns out the chef is experimenting with this simple dish and add a red reduction sauce. Service was great. One server, who wasn’t ours said they did not have pecorino cheese, but overheard him tell another they had it in the back but didn’t wanna get it, so why check up on a table who isn’t yours ? Our serve was great, busy but attentive, and made up our dinner with biscotti’s.
