My wife and I had a lovely evening dining at Piccolo. The meal was well prepared and tasty; the wine pairing was excellent and the service was exceptional. Chef even came out and had a chat with the last few diners. Would definitely recommend. Seems the menu changes frequently, so check if you're going for a specific item.

The food is always delicious. The only people in the restaurant:
there was a wedding party and my party of five.
I like going there not only is the food consistent; but it is a place to dine and to spend the evening.

Food was good. Customer service was lacking but worst of all, the chef was a total jerk! I saw his reaction to a special request that was quite simple. I won't be coming back.

We felt like we were dining in a family trattoria in Rome . Our hostess/waitress was warm and personable and made us feel at home. She perfectly described the dishes and helped with recommendations. Their menu is small but we enjoyed every course. Salad was beautiful and perfectly dressed with a light lemony vinaigrette and the three meat meatballs had a great depth of flavor. We liked the bison Bolognese and the fusilli amatrichanna as our main courses. We would order them again. And dessert was an awesome peach cobbler. This was our first visit but won't be our last. In a town with many great Italian restaurants this one is one of the best.

We were looking for a new Italian restaurant in town (we're veterans of the big 2) and figured we would try Piccolo because it's close by. We were greeted warmly by the owner and were blown away by the quality of food. The menu was very creative for an Italian restaurant. Prices may seem high for pasta dishes, but you're paying for better ingredients and the creativity I mentioned earlier. Our only critique is that they could probably use a couple of standard appetizers for diners not looking to stray too far.

Highly recommend! Give it a shot

Piccolo is a great little Italian gem tucked away among the restaurants on Commercial. It's tiny with about 5-6 tables only. We were the only ones there when we arrived at 8pm on a Saturday night and saw one other (vegan) couple come and go while we took our time dining. Now for the food: There was no seafood on the menu, and the overall choices were limited to 1 steak, 1 poultry, and 1 pasta - all unique dishes as well. The food was excellent! My husband and I both got the duck pasta special that night, and it was filling and absolutely delicious. Piccolo is family owned and that shows in the high-quality service as well.

The server was the owners brother in law and he was very attentive and good. The kitchen did not follow the food requests and the food was very salty. I felt it was also overpriced for what you got. Will not return.

Always a pleasure to dine at Piccolo's. A small place where a reservation would be strongly suggested. They have an good wine list but patron's can bring their own choices with a corkage fee.

Entree's are seasonable an creative, with many of the favorites on a menu rotation.
This evening Lamb chops were the meat of choice, other times it can be a veal chop or a Fillet. There is always a special of a fish as well as a game bird . Pasta is always plentiful too.
Coffee is made by the cup so it is always wonderful and fresh.

Took old friends, both first generation Italians, on recommendation of a friend.
He had quail because it reminded him of boyhood hunting trips with his father. She and I had short ribs. Great comfort food seldom found on restaurant menus. All were delicious except I was ill all night after (need to stay away from fatty meats I found).
What we also enjoyed was the intimate ambience and ability to have a private conversation without other diners chatting loudly or wait staff interruption of our conversation to inquire how we were enjoying everything.

Piccolo is our favorite special go to in pompano beach. Family operated, the welcome is warm and service impeccable. The food is fantastic. Only a few entrees each night, but each is prepared with the highest degree of chef skill
It is a little pricey, but you get good value with interesting preparations.
I only gave a slight downgrade for ambiance because it needs more diners. Most times we go there are few tables occupied so it feels a little lonly. But please go and patronize this gem of a restaurant

Andre the Chef and his wife and other family (a new addition is coming in March) serve outstanding special South American classical Italian deliciousness. Amatriciana rotini was goodly spiced and al dente; the house meatball superb; the funghi risotto was superb and the recommended wine was a great pairing. Lots of service yet no intrusion to our small talk with friend went uninterrupted. Of course forcing us to have a dessert with4 spoons--Chocolate brulee--was wicked!!.

Maybe I am just old school, but we were a bit disappointed. EVERYONE online, and even a random person walking down the street raved about how great the food was, so I had very high expectations. The available menu was quite different from what I saw online, and selections were very limited. Food was tasty, but not really your traditional Italian fare. Service was outstanding and very friendly. Tables were very close, so expect to hear your neighbor's conversation. Advice is to call ahead for what is on the menu, before paying in 3 figures for a couple of meals you're not really crazy about.

I would recommend this restaurant because it is small and intimate. However, the night we dined there, the 4 of us ordered the pasta special which we all agreed was not up to par. One of our guests ordered the octopus appetizer which was also not the best.

We had been to this restaurant a couple of years before this visit and found our meals to be very good, so I wouldn't discount it entirely as a place to dine.

My favorite local restaurant- always makes you feel like a VIP. Great menu that changes seasonally, and the daily specials are top notch. Would not feel out of place whether you're dressed to the nines or enjoying a casual night out. Will keep coming back as I can't wait to try everything on the menu!

This ambitious little restaurant is definitely worth a try. We dined here for my husband's birthday, his pick. Decor is very nice, it felt like a special occasion. The restaurant is VERY SMALL. But we were not uncomfortable. Front of the House staff is super...Alison (who took our order) and her colleague (who we didn't meet, but had the pleasure of having him bring a course or two and pour wine for us) are the right amount of friendly, and skilled at working the room. Between the two they took care of the entire place like maestros, each table felt THEY were the favorite. Both are worth double their weights in gold. One thing we are still talking about...many items were already "sold out" at 7:30 on Saturday--bad form. Take them off of the menu, because it makes guests feel like they missed out, which is a disappointing way to start an evening. We decided to share one each of the menu categories. Caesar salad was really a stand out. Loved the wedge presentation and the dressing had the perfect tang. Appetizer--Polpette of the day, described as house blend. Was tasty, loved the homemade ricotta cheese and the marinara was good. However, I could distinctly taste bread crumbs and the meatballs fell apart. Both my husband and I had hunks of unground cartilage--just ew. Pasta course--linguine with mushrooms and truffle oil. Just a tad too much funk, and I DO realize truffle oil is funky...just way too much and I do not think that the pasta was made in-house--which is room for growth especially at an upscale Italian place. In Italy, even Nonna's make their own pasta and it does makes a difference. Veal Chop--perfectly cooked, DELICIOUS! Risotto was a bit TOO al dente--Not nearly creamy enough either, which comes from rushing it I think. Wine list was OK. I don't mind small but a bit more imaginative selection. Dessert was good. We'd go again. We have high hopes for Piccolo and thank them for helping push Broward's fine dining envelope. KEEP IMPROVING!

I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said! We've eaten at piccolo at least a dozen times and it continues to be one of our absolute favorite restaurants. While I'm addicted to the bolognese, my husband usually tries something different and I always love what he gets as well. It's not just the food, as excellent as it is, but it's the warm family environment they've created. Not only are they family, but they make us feel like family too!

We were told of Piccolo's by our friends who live near by. We agreed to meet them there and made early evening reservations (very limited space, so a must). We found a very knowledgeable & gracious Alison as Hostess / waitress extraordinaire. She made great suggestions for our wine and food selections. As Arnold says - Weeel be baaack!

This is a great little restaurant. My wife found some reviews online so we chose it for a delayed anniversary dinner. Beautiful little restaurant with a very diverse menu that will have something to offer everyone.

We shared two appetizers: eggplant and meatballs. Both were spectacular. I had crab encrusted mahi-mahi that was delicious and cooked perfectly. My wife had shrimp over pasta. She enjoyed it but thought the shrimp lacked "something". Overall, she still thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

The service and staff were spectacular. Couldn't ask for a better performance.

My only criticism is that the place is too small and intimate. Lots of people might love it for that reason; others, like me, might not. The owners are clearly doing their best to serve as many tables as they can in a small store-front area. I don't fault them for trying to maximize their space. But most of the tables are too close together for my personal comfort. Not to the point of being intrusive but close enough that --for ME-- it impairs conversation and relaxation.

We still had a wonderful evening and would not hesitate to return
