Piccolo Restaurant of Huntington
A "faithful" crowd stays true to this upscale New American-Italian in Huntington, which "deserves its reputation" for "superb cuisine" spanning "delicious pastas" to "phenomenal meat and fish"; the "top-notch" service and "intimate" setting with a pianist Sunday-Thursday will "make any occasion special", but make sure to reserve ahead because the cozy "close quarters" fill up fast on the weekends.
Received the "Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator in 2017.

Food is excellent service is nice attentive but over worked running from table to table. Never sat at the tables near the bar before much to noise rude bar group not considerate to other guests or staff. Not comfortable recommend main dinning room. Not near the bar for sure. Brought new customers never there before don’t think they would go back because of discomfort of table and noise too bad great food and hard working service.
This was an absolutely outstanding restaurant. The food and service were exceptional. I highly recommend it!
We went to Piccolos for our anniversary. Service and food were great! They even knew it was our anniversary via Open Table and wrote a message on our desser plate. It’s a Huntington gem!
As always the food, the service and the warm atmosphere made our dinner a "special night" to celebrate the best of dining on Long Island. The Pork Valdostana was outstanding in a mushroom sauce. My husband loved the cauliflower soup and the chicken pizzaiolo. hugs to all the staff Ellen and Mark Sherman...
Great service, everyone in our party loved the food, nice atmosphere.
Excellent food excellent service a wonderful evening as always
This place is always great. I was able to get a last minute reservation for 6 people on a Saturday night. We were treated like royalty. The food was delicious. I got my favorite eggplant meatball appetizer. The swordfish was amazing. This is one of my favorite restaurants.
Piccolo is a an excellent choice for a special occasion or everyday dining. Our most recent dining experience was excellent as are all of our visits to Piccolo. Highly recommend!
Unfortunately we had a much longer than expected wait for a 8:30 reservation weren’t seated until 9:30 for 4 peeps, who were newbies to Piccolo
Suggest make earlier rather than later reservation
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. We had reservations, but still had to wait for a table. Then we sat down, were served burnt bread & waited approx. 20 minutes for a cocktail menu.
I requested linguine instead of capellini, but was still served the capellini, which were over cooked. Our waiter never came over to ask how everything was & if we needed anything or if we wanted dessert. I’m 100% Italian & know good Italian food. I used to love this place, but they have gotten way too busy & cant keep up with providing good service. It’s unfortunate, but I will not be returning. We could hardly get out of the place with the crowd because they were so backed up...ridiculous!!
Been here several times and it’s always wonderful. The food is delicious. This particular night that we were there the service wasn’t as good as usual. It was all due to one waiter. Everyone else was great as they always are. It wouldn’t stop me from going back but I hope I don’t get that waiter again.
Piccolo is always great. Service is excellent. It's better during the week or early on the weekends. Saturday nights is a little crazy!
The food was good, I wouldn't wait over an hour again to eat here though. The place was packed so I was expecting AMAZING food, it was average. Our first server (after we waited for an hour and a half) was rude, dismissive, forgot our drinks, messed up our appetizer and was not at all welcoming. Our second waiter was nicer and did make up for the first one. This was our anniversary and while it was a good evening I don't know if I'd return
Food was terrific. Table for 4 was way too small and dining room was extremely over crowded. Our table was essentially in a hallway with staff and guests bumping into us all evening.
We have visited Piccolo many times in the past. I ordered Tedesco's Free Range Half Chicken on this occasion. It is simply a matter of taste but I found it to be lemony. I'm not a fan of chicken francaise due to the lemon in the sauce and it came as a surprise because the menu indicated that it was being served "natural jus".
The fingerling potatoes and mixed vegetables were excellent and the chicken was good too - I just don't care for lemon. We were a table of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was very, very good. We sat in the back of the restaurant past the bar; it is our preferred area to sit. It is dark and perfect for a group to sit and enjoy a conversation but it was especially loud, particularly after 7 pm. Our reservation was at 6:15. It was a Saturday night so the numbers waiting for a table at that hour are to be expected.
I would never discourage anyone from visiting Piccolo and I hope this review didn't because their food is excellent. Shrimp alla Peggy is my favorite entree; Piccolo cooks pasta perfectly on every visit and this is a great dish. We will be back soon.
Piccolo is reliably excellent. Although it can be a tad noisy seated by the bar, it typically is a rare restaurant I can go to in Huntington where it is not pandemonium and I can actually have a quiet conversation. The service is impeccable but not hovering, although my wife’s initial dressing on the side wasn’t. The replacement came in what it seemed like seconds. They have a pretty expansive menu, but I usually order from their nightly special menu. Food always comes hot and expertly plated and prepared. Oh, and the tiramisu is as close to the perfection I’ve experienced in Cortona, Italy!
This is an elegant restaurant that looks like it's from a classy retro movie. The service that was provided was
totally attentive. The atmosphere was comfortable with beautiful design and elegant materials creating an
advantageous environment. Two menus were available. A seasonal menu incorporated quite creative offerings which were a whiff of fresh air compared to many restaurants typical items. A classic menu is
also available so there is much choice. This is also advantageous if you have any food issues which are
respectfully accommodated. I can't imagine anyone not appreciating this unique and hidden gem in
Enjoyed the comfortable feeling and the excellent wait service.
Food was very good, but the little neck clams were too small in size for my taste.
We were not rushed and the wait staff was not only efficient but were attentive without being annoying.
There were some dishes I would have liked to see on the dinner menu.
From the moment I step through the door, I am happy. The food is always delicious and the ambiance is romantic. I have visited Piccolo many times and I am never disappointed. Thank you for another wonderful evening.
Delicious food. Excellent service pretty atmosphere.. great ambiance
Big portions. The food is typical Italian and very good. Very loud crowd. So go early or late.
Good service, delicious food, always consistent. We haven’t been there in awhile but we will go back
Nice atmosphere and accommodating. Service was good, but it was costly for mediocre food.
It was good. A creative Italian menu. A little old fashioned though
Another outstanding meal at Piccolo. George , Mark and all the Waite staff always exceed our expectations. We are foodies , fortunately dine everywhere and when we return to Piccolo we always say “why do we ever dine anywhere else?” Dean Mario and I thank you always !
Great food and service always fun going there. Specials are great love this place.
We had a gift cert granted it was old but issued
by this long standing restaurant it was for 125
they would not honor it even though someone
paid them at one time 125 for the cert
very bad business
I have never been disappointed with the food choices. Our waiter George was very attentive. The seasonal choices are always unusual and delicious. Dining room is small so I try to make early reservations.
I absolutely adore this place! A little
local gem. The food is amazing and the service is great. One of my favorite places to go for dinner!!
Wonderful dining experience as usual.
Happy to see they had Martini glasses for our Martini's - even chilled! Bread and butter always good. Love the Blue Point oyster. Had a great table - excellent service!
Always amazing. Dean and his staff have this place running top notch every night
Soft shell crabs were wonderful . Along with all other dishes. Service was professional. A little out of the way.
We had a wonderful time.
As always a delightful dining night at Picollos. From the moment you walk into the door, Jason makes you feel at home. George always is ready to please and do what he can to make your evening extra special. Willie is an exceptional chef whose soups, sauces, entrees, and appetizers are consistantly creative delicious. My husband and I have been dining here for years and truly feel that Piccolo is a true "gem"... Thanks again.
As always, Piccolo is an excellent choice for a romantic dinner or special occasions. Excellent food and atmosphere. The service is impeccable.
The staff was excellent, the food was delicious. We didn’t feel rushed.
Piccolo never disappoints!☺️ Our family was celebrating a birthday and we all enjoyed! The service was outstanding as was the food! The staff was very attentive! We always enjoy dining at a Piccolo!☺️
Always feel like a VIP when dining here. The sword fish was the best I ever had--white, tender & tasty. George will even cater to your taste & provide Duck with orange sauce!
