Piccolo Restaurant of Huntington
A "faithful" crowd stays true to this upscale New American-Italian in Huntington, which "deserves its reputation" for "superb cuisine" spanning "delicious pastas" to "phenomenal meat and fish"; the "top-notch" service and "intimate" setting will "make any occasion special", but make sure to reserve ahead because the cozy "close quarters" fill up fast on the weekends.
Received the "Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator in 2018.
$25 corkage fee on .750ml (we have a great selection of fairly priced wines)
$4pp cake cutting fee.
All of our desserts are baked daily by our pastry chef. If you would like us to make a personal cake for your special occasion please call for details.
A little loud
When made reservation they asked occasion and said they’d arrange a special something ..they didn’t do anything
The best staff the best service the best food. Love dining at piccolo
Food was delicious and fresh! Staff was impeccable and attentive.
What a wonderful evening. Service was on the money! Truly an enjoyable event. Food is always my favorite.
Wonderful as always
All four of us ordered Pork Chop a la Toomey which is a huge plate sized pounded center cut pork chop. Very tender but kind of flavorless, we felt, based on the leftovers we brought home and sampled the next day. When I prepared the leftover pork chops for dinner two days later, I added smashed garlic, sliced red pepper, sliced onion, and three sliced red cherry hot peppers and, wow, what a difference. Put all on top of some gemelli and escarole and heated until the mozz. on top of the pork melted. Really better than what we ate in the restaurant. Chef should take notice of jazzing up this good entree.
Really nice special occasion restaurant as well as locals who always enjoy eating there. Waiters are very professional but don't "hover". We will go back.
Short Rib Cannelloni was excellent.
Outstanding restaurant. Always consistent... You can never go wrong. Very attentive staff. Bar area is always very tight. We will certainly be back.
Delicious food and very accommodating. Very pricey drinks. 35 bucks for a glass of cheap wine and a scotch at bar while we waiting for a table.
A belated Vanentines dinner for many. The mozzarella & tomato was excellent. The pear salad was very good but the cinnamon in the pear was overwhelming. The chicken and veal parm were large portions and also very good. For dessert we had cappuccino, lava cake, and the apple crisp all of which were excellent. We were seated promptly when we arrived at 6:45and received a good amount of attention but within the hour the place filled up and it became increasingly difficult to get the attention of our waiter. When we did, however, he was friendly, funny, and informative about the menu. The tables were set up almost to close in two's for the holiday. We will definitely return.
Food was outstanding. Service was great. A bit pricey, but wife declared it is her new favorite restaurant.
I thought Piccolo was great...excellent service, food very good. THe only reason I gave the food 4 stars instead of 5, was because there was a bit of sand in some of the mussels. That may not of even been anyone's fault, and I don't hold it against them . I will definitely give them another visit in the future
The food was fantastic, and the service was second to none. Jeremy, our server, provided 5 star service throughout our dinner. Nothing was an oversight. As if the food and drinks weren’t excellent enough, he was the frosting on the cake. After dinner, we made our way to the bar where the service was equally as excellent. We will definitely be back.
Seems like there’s a new Chef. Fist time 2of our dozen oysters were not good. Service was very good, as usual
Our absolute favorite restaurant. We live 45 min away and still try to get in at least once a month. Our favorites for appetizers are the burrata and coconut shrimp. For entrees, we like the duck and their pasta specials--specifically when they do the browned butter gnocchi. Love the tiramisu for dessert. Such a great atmosphere and always great service. Highly recommend!
the restaurant needs a over haul . very dated . they over book reservations big time . so either if you go on open table or call in you are doomed . 45 minute wait . the food is good . sword fish special was a genius piece . the Balinese sauce was like vodka sauce with pieces of chop meat . stay away . . plus over loaded on the sauce/ looking for the pasta . . came out like soup . the service was good . much older crowd attends this restaurant . . that helped the decor of the 1970S .
Good for everyday dining and special occasions.
Food is always good
Excellent food, wonderful, knowledgeable and professional waitstaff, charming and intimate atmosphere. Our absolute favorite restaurant.
We have been going to Piccolo's since they opened 30 years ago. This is our favorite restaurant. The food is always exceptional. The service impeccable !
Good but not great - my wife & I thought it was a bit overpriced. Coconut shrimp appetizer was good but three average size shrimp for $18.00 or one crab cake for $19.00 seems excessive. Waiter’s suggestion to try their signature duck dish was a big disappointment taste wise though portion size was fine. Were it not for a gift certificate to Picolo, we would have chosen another restaurant in Huntington to celebrate our anniversary.
We love Piccolo! The atmosphere, food and service is stellar. We’ve been dining here for years and will for year to come. Piccolo is a true Huntington Village gem.
Another amazing meal!
Food is good, but they jam too many tables into the dining room. Waiters can be pushy and too fast. They try to clear the table too quickly after a meal. Put down your fork and the plates disappear.
We had dinner at Piccolo on a recent Saturday evening. It's been popular in Huntington for decades, so we made an early reservation to enjoy most of our meal before the place filled up.
This is a classic Italian restaurant with a mature crowd and formal service; it's not a trendy hot-spot. We got the impression that their customers return again and again.
Because we were early (5:30), the staff easily attended to us nicely. By the time we were ready for a check, every table was taken and our waiters were less available.
The food was excellent. We had Thai calamari and Caesar's salad as appetizers. The former may be too spicy for some, but we enjoyed it. For dinner, our table of 3 had 2 chicken dishes and a pasta dish (ear-shaped pasta with 2 types of sausage, and broccoli-rabe). We all enjoyed the entrees.
For an enjoyable and somewhat formal dinning experience, Piccolo's of Huntington won't disappoint.
Food was outstanding!! Service was great. We will definitely be back.
It is my husband's favorite restaurant in Huntington and we eat there often. It is rarely loud and we can hear each other talk.
Great meal and service as always.
Great food and service always! Linguini and clam sauce, mussells and chicken piccata are standouts for us!
Jason is the best! So is the food!
This is a great restaurant- warm ambience, very good food and if you steer away from Saturday night service is relaxed.
Nice neighborhood restaurant. It was a bit cramped and loud, but it was a Saturday night. Servers seemed a bit overwhelmed, but the food was very good.
Always reliable and professional service, menu and food. A local gem.
We went on a date night for some good food- excellent!!! service and great ambience. Nice night out away from the kids! The artichoke was the best I ever had!!!
Our New Year's Eve family celebration for three was marked by excellent service and excellent food and we hope to return in the near future.
New Year's Eve dinner at Piccolo was amazing..was first of three seatings and did not feel rushed to leave, dinner was delicious and staff was amazing in their attention to detail and great service...Have eaten here before and was happy to spend New Year's Eve in this wonderful restaurant!
We usually love piccolo. The food is always good. However, new years eve ay 5 30 pm they squeezed us onto a small table in a space between the wall and the bar so people were constantly bumping into us as we were dining. My husband was worried a waiter would spill something on him. The noise level was much too loud and some inconsiderate party of 6 or 8 came in with party hats with bright flashing lights and never turned the lights off. Thank goodness we were finishing up our dinner at that time. I think management tried to squeeze in as many people as possible without regard to clients' comfort.
Horrible service, terrible food. We came for our anniversary—we actually eat at Piccolo several times a year. The server was terrible. I’m not sure if the owner has changed or if there is a new chef. The food was pretty bad too. I ended up sending my pasta back because it was so bland. When I finally got the attention of the server to tell him I wasn’t happy his reaction was just to say ok. Not how can we make this better, can we get you something else, etc. He just removed the pasta.
Food was adequate and overpriced. Was very disappointed. Cute place, good service but not worth going back to.
