Piccolo Restaurant of Huntington Ratings and Reviews
This place is a classic, always really good food. They have all the typical Italian dishes and great specials. My favorite is the Veal Chop. They will modify anything that I have ever asked and no one in my party has ever complained or been disappointed in years. I would highly recommend.
The last 2 times we visited, they were out of Martini glasses! A restaurant of this caliber and for the price they charge for a drink, they should NEVER run out of glasses! We had a 7.30 reservation and did not sit down until 8.30pm.
Piccolo is a regular in our rotation because it’s very dependable. Always. Good meal at a reasonable price with a rotation of specials to keep things interesting. Bar area can get very crowded which makes it difficult to check in standing by the door on a cold night - but if that’s the worst that can be said about a place... that’s pretty good!
This restaurant has high quality food and very good service. What it does NOT have is a good place to wait for your table on a Friday or Saturday evening when it will undoubtedly be crowded. Don't come early to have a drink like we did. The bar is small so it doesn't take much to fill it up, and just too small a space between the bar stools and the aisle where people have to walk to get to their tables and inevitably there is bar spillover waiting in that aisle as well. they have an ancient piano sitting there taking up some room that is so unnecessary although it will not make a huge difference in the tight space. we found it really uncomfortable and almost left. They need to rent some additional space in that shopping center and create a bar/waiting area.
One advantage is that parking is good there vs. around Huntington, which can be bad if something good is going on at the Paramount.
The food was on point as always. The service was very attentive and didn’t rush us through our meal. The only negative was the Dirty Martini was truly terrible. I asked for a very dry martini but got one with more vermouth than vodka. The martini wasn’t even chilled
From my point of view the service from the wait Service excellent. They were extremely attentive. The restaurant seating was overcrowded and uncomfortable. The food was just ok. My overall feeling is that this restaurant is highly overrated and overpriced. This has been my third and last visit.
What a treat it was to have Thanksgiving dinner at Piccolo! We had the scallops appetizer and the hot antipasto for two. Both were divine! Then we had a gorgeous salad and shard the small linguini with clam sauce. One cocktail each! The bill was $102. Can't wait to get back there!- but - one negative--- it was quite chilly/drafty in there -- wear an extra layer!
Date night for my wife and I and we were not disappointed. I started with the roasted figs with goat cheese and prosciutto and it was fantastic. Also came with a large slice of melon with prosciutto on the side. I had the Panko crusted tuna and she had the short rib cannelloni. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. For dessert she had a lava cake with pumpkin gelato and I had a banana croissant bread pudding and they were unbelievable. She had wanted the Creme Brûlée but unfortunately they had sold out. I definitely recommend this place.
