Piccolo Mondo Restaurant
Great food in a place that is not top of mind. Also great service.
A gem! The food was delicious. Such a pleasant evening.
The food is outstanding and the service is excellent too. Definitely my favorite restaurant love it there can’t wait to go back again!
Food was excellent, cocktails spot on, service was attentive and friendly, had a great mother's day dinner! Only off kilter thing was the music. Listening to Stairway to Heaven does not say fine dining italian restaurant. Just a bit odd. But other than the background music, everything else was amazing!
Always good all around , good wine list great food
Food and service were excellent! The staff is attentive and helpful and we all enjoyed our meals. I like the size and personal attention at this restaurant.
We've been living in Dix Hills for just about 3 years and we finally got to Piccolo Mondo, and I am glad we did! The food is outstanding. We shared baked clams and fried calamari to start and they were both delicious. We were 4 people and all had something different and we loved all four main courses. I had parmesan crusted chicken with spinach, my husband had frutta di mare pasta, and our friends had prosciutto wrapped scallops over risotto and the pork chops. All were great! We had gelato for dessert. It was good. I'm sure there are more interesting desserts on the menu but we were too full to order anything big. The service is very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was very busy and the noise level was a bit loud but that didn't bother us at all. I would say the prices are in line with what to expect at a good/casual but upscale restaurant on the North Shore of Long Island. We will definitely be back!
Another wonderful meal at Piccolo Mondo! We were there during restaurant week and the quality of the food and service was great, as always.
The waiter was outstanding as was the cuisine. Looking forward to dining there again.
Another incredible meal at Piccolo Mondo coupled with a great bottle of wine....thank you Roland!! No matter what new restaurant we try, we always come back here.....definately our 'Favorite' restaurant! The food is always outstanding....Nice variety and always fresh and professionally prepared.
From start to finish my friend and I enjoyed our meal and dining experience. Piccolo Mondo located in a strip mall can easily be passed by. My suggestion, don’t pass it by, pull in, park and dine in and expect a delicious meal.
Just moved to the neighborhood and we’ve found a neighborhood gem. Service was outstanding, the presentation was exceptional, and the meal was even better. We’ll be back again soon and often.
We have previously dined in this restaurant. It was Restaurant Week and I happened to see that Piccolo Mondo was participating. They had a very nice menu available. We went on Sunday at 6:30. Had the mussels as an appetizer which were outstanding and chicken for dinner which was delicious as well. The remainder of my party had baked clams, codfish, rustic salad and pork chop. Everyone agreed that the food was terrific. Tangerine sorbet was delicious as well as the flourless chocolate cake which came with banana gelato. We will be back for sure.
Not enough wait staff. Dinner for 3 took 2.5 hours. Had to wait to get our check and had to wait to get our signed receipt back. One server doing 80% of everything for 75% of the tables: taking orders, bar tending, delivering food, etc.
We went the first night of Long Island restaurant week. The restaurant week menu was generous. The food was delicious, the regular and gluten free options were prepared expertly.
The service is attentive and not overbearing. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!
Was my first time there although my Lady has been there before. We were with another couple and nothing could have been better! We will be back again soon
All requests were honored (round table off to side- no rushing). All 5 agreed food was delicious. Only (mild) complaint is that they knew it was a Birthday celebration but did nothing to recognize that. No one I know wants singing but a candle or a little “happy Birthday” drizzle on the dessert plate goes a long way.
Celebrating Easter and two birthdays. Piccolo Mondo’s is our favorite restaurant and Roland is so gracious. Will be back very soon.
Every bit of our night there was outstanding. The new menu was great...fish dishsr were delish <3
Highly diverse and interesting menu. A neighborhood jewel.
It was my birthday
the restaurant was greet. they did not have our res but they worked it out.
can you explain how something like that could happen? thank you
Love the place. Neighborhood GEM! One of the best places to eat for miles around Northport. New menu is awesome. I bring friends and clients here and its always a hit.
Piccolo Mondo is consistently outstanding. The food is extraordinary and the service impeccable. It is truly our favorite restaurant.
Delish!!! Will definitely go back, the atmosphere was very nice and service terrific!
The Food and service is top notch. Looking forward to dining there again soon.
The food and presentation are outstanding. You definitely feel as though you are dining in an upscale restaurant.I definitely can’t wait to dine there again!
Overall a Good meal but selection for non-fish diners were limited and not the best entrees.
Will return to take a second look
My Wife and I along with another couple tried Piccolo Mondo off a friend’s recommendation.
We were all pleasantly surprised, we had a cocktail at the bar, we sat on time for our reservation.
The menu and specials were all inviting. We all enjoyed the entire experience. If we had to say one negative it took quite a while for our second cocktail at the table, but that was made up with 2 deserts on the house. Apologizing for the delay.
We will be back!!!
The food was excellent. The appetizer of calamari was one of the best I,be had. The octopus special was also delicious, tho I thought the piece was a little on the small side. All four of us enjoyed our main course, especially the veal chop and the salmon. The only reason I can’t give it a Five star all the way thru is because of the noise level. It is a small restaurant and the tables are very close together. I think next time I will give it a try during the week when it may not be as busy!
Menu has changed not for the better. A lot of heavy sauces added to the dishes- would like to have cleaner choices
And make to order dishes.
Great menu and wonderful execution. Service was magnificent.
In my opinion, one of the best restaurants on Long Island.
My go to Italian in Huntington! Loyal customer for 14 years, and with the new menu, even better!
Having grown up in this area, its always a pleasure to come visit my dad and go to this lovely gem of a restaurant. The food is consistent, and the service impeccable. My only disappointment is not realizing that this fabulous restaurant has been there for a while! On our last visit, we had the muscles, buratta, and shrimp appetizers off of the menu - all were abundant, perfectly made and just delicious. For entree's my dad and I had the Linguini Fra Diavolo - the homemade linguini were incredible in this dish with plenty of scallops, calamari, and shrimp. My husband had the Gnocchi, and although delish I think next trip will be just the linguini for me. Cant wait to return!
Our server Erin was so friendly and nice. She was great with handling our drink orders and letting us know about specials. The drinks were great I loved the signature cocktail. The appetizers were delicious we shared them all as a table.... clams, shrimp, calamari, scallops. Everyone in our group(there were 6 of us) loved their dinners. The desserts were also delicious. This place is a gem!
The restaurant had a special event going on, had to sit at the bar. Was a special birthday date, disappointed that restaurant did not let us know that beforehand. Will certainly visit again. Food was very good.
Very nice local restaurant
My wife and I went to celebrate Valentine's Day which also is our engagement anniversary. We've never been dissapointed here!! The food was amazing. And server was pleasant and helpful. However, since it was Valentines Day, the seating was a bit crowded / close; which is why I didnt give all categories 5 stars.
