Piccola Italia Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Nice restaurant in downtown Manchester. Decor/ambiance was okay (aging) whereas the food was quite good albeit (maybe) just a bit over-priced. The service was very good and the waitress was quite knowledgable although her Italian accent made you concentrate as to what informaion she was imparting ... which did lend to the ambiance.
We were super early for our reservation - had some friends finishing up at the bar and were able to get their seats . The entire restaurant was hopping due to some shows downtown, but the service and food were both exceptionally good. Not friendly to walk ins or changes, understandably during busy hours, but they aren’t unheard of as well- just something to be prepared for and really makes you appreciate the reservation you do have. This will continue to be our go to downtown date night restaurant!
I arrived at the restaurant at 6:10 for a 6:15 reservation and left at 7pm without being seated. They screwed up all reservations and everyone was standing helpless at the door. I decided to leave and find something to eat before 8pm show. I didn’t want to give the restaurant any money. They put a fake review up on you site for Saturday evening, I reported.
Good spot for an Italian dinner with friends. Since my husband is Italian its hard to rate anyplace really high, but we had good service, our reservation was respected, food was good and not outrageously priced. I would recommend and very convenient to the Palace theater!
Ten plus stars! This will be the restaurant for me whenever I am in Manchester. I do a significant amount of business related travel so when I find a restaurant that meets my needs as a vegetarian I am very happy. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. The minestrone soup was homemade delicious and the garlic broccoli pasta was exceptional. The biggest surprise was the homemade bread, yummy. The hostess was very attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. I am still salivating as I write this review. I have a discriminating palate as an excellent cook and one who has been a vegetarian (no meat, fowl, fish or cheese and no for most dairy) for 48 years.
Just sublime. The service was unexpectedly fantastic. The table-side caesar salad was the best caesar salad I've ever had. The server went above and beyond finding multiple a allergy friendly pastas in the kitchen for a difficult allergy. Just a great meal.
Simply a gem in Manchester. Non-descript and so quaint. The building is unpretentious but the food is over the top. The service was spectacular. Don't pass on the butternut squash ravioli, they are delicious. The gnocchi are also spectacular. Every dish we had was perfect.
Dinner with friends. Great location if you are planning to go to the Palace Theatre (as we were). I lived in Boston's North End for 3 years. The food, service and atmosphere here were very similar to the better restaurant's there. Authentic Italian food. The service and atmosphere made you feel like part of the family.
Simply stated, this was somebody he best Italian good we have had anywhere. Undoubtedly, my fiancé, who had the Eggplant Parmigiana, said it was the best she ever ate anywhere. The Gnocchi Piemonte was awesome with a very delicate cream sauce and fresh mushrooms. For dessert, we shared a generous portion of Panna Cotta with a caramel sauce and fresh berries. The wine list was very good and our server was top notch. This was our first visit but will certainly not be our last . Highly recommend this fine restaurant!
Excellent food, lovely waitress, but other personnel were not as friendly or pleasant. We were celebrating our 10 year old granddaughter's birthday. There was no kid's menu, but the waitress assured us that they could do half portions of whatever dish she wanted. Her serving of cheese ravioli was huge! So were our dinners - eggplant parmigiana and
Pesto pasta with shrimp.
I was drawn by the very positive reviews. The reservation was for my mother's 99th birthday and she requested Italian cuisine.
We were the first patrons there--being let into the restaurant when it opened and we were pretty much the only ones there which was OK since my mother is hard of hearing.
The food was a bit disappointing. The calamari was rather soggy and bland. My husband and mother reported that the eggplant parm had something hard (uncooked?) between the eggplant slices. The pasta and sauce that accompanied the eggplant was excellent. My ravioli was satisfactory but thought the creamy sauce was soupy.
The service was good.
Not sure we'll return.
In Manchester for only one evening, we found this restaurant through excellent online reviews. We were not disappointed in the least! Our table was ready as soon as we arrived, and our server Amanda was there almost immediately to take our drink orders. The menu is pretty diverse, but still contains many of the dishes you'd hope to find at an Italian eatery. Don't pass up the Caesar salad that is prepared tableside. Amanda did a fantastic job with this, and we agreed it was one of the best we ever tasted. The portion was large, and we were even able to share a sample with an adjoining table!!
First time back after several years. Liked the new layout with the exception of how tight the tables were...if someone at another table was loud, it was hard to hear. We ordered an appetizer and 3 different meals and all were delicious. Desert menu was limited with what we were looking for, but the ones we selected were good.
Been there close to a dozen times. Day or Night - impeccable service and incredible menu. Arranchini, calamari, anti-pasto and Shrimp Toscana were great apps.
Veal Gemmelli, Veal Fabiano, Chicken Lorena, and Scallops were great as was the standby Fettucini Alfredo with Chix & Broccoli.
The female bartender was cheery and very helpful and she handed off to one of our fave waitresses, Linda.
You cannot get a bad meal or shoddy service at Piccola. It is the Go To for classic and creative Italian meals.
