Excellent as always.
Piccola's was recommended to me, and I had friends from out of town. So I thought I would try it. The menu was diverse and the food was delicious. Our server, Mark, was attentive but not bothersome. Would highly recommend.
Very disappointed in my food. My steak dish was horrible, and the pasta dish I had ordered was absolutely tasteless. The only sauce available for the pasta was a watery and tasteless Pomodoro sauce. When asked if they had some kind of marinara sauce, they said no. What kind of Italian restaurant has no decent pasta sauce?
We have been here several times. Its our favorite Italian restaurant. We always love the fried oysters appetizer. The specials are always great and a nice change from the regular menu.
Food was outstanding!! Very good service!!
Food is delicious. We are at the bar. Bartender Tony is awesome.
Great food, and a little gem in Ocean Township. The prices were a bit high, but overall, its a fantastic place that will not disappoint. Yum!
Nice restaurant in a plaza. Menu is very limited so you would only go there once in a while. Service was perfect. Food prepared to order.
My husband tried Piccola Italia after hearing good things about it. I immediately noticed the front door was in sorry need of paint. The restaurant looked tired. It definitely needs a facelift. The food was adequate but not great. The "amuse-bouche" was a sorry sight- a watermelon cube with goat cheese? All in all, I feel the restaurant is over-priced for what it is. Sorry to say we will not be back.
Piccolo Italia's Food never disappoints. The fried oysters Rockefeller are an absolute favorite. The Shrimp Scampi is so subtle yet so delicious - we just can't get enough. This is our 4th time there since we discovered this hidden secret - and we'll be back many many more times.
The food is very good but the ambiance needs changing. It looks depressing and it's very noisy. And a little too pricy for pasta.
Piccolo Italia is one of the best restaurants in the county. You can always count on excellent service and food prepared with great care. The menu has something for everyone but don't forget to try the specials. I tried the stuffed zucchini flowers over a salad for an appetizer and a homemade pasta with crab and shitake mushrooms. They were both excellent.
We always enjoy our dinner here. This time we also took a takeout for someone.
The food is always delicious here and drinks are awesome!
Wonderful as always, we went for my birthday and everything was perfect, they brought me and my wife a glass of wine and a dessert at the end which was perfect! Always a great experience
Our second time there, it was recommended by a friend. Good food, ambiance just ok, service a little slow but it was also filled to capacity. Hostess was less than thrilled to be doing her job. It showed.
Wine list was outstanding, service first rate, every dish we ordered was delicious
What an amazing experience! The food, cocktails, service- everything was amazing. I had a 9:15 reservation with a group of 6, which can sometimes mean not so great service; however, Robin, took amazing care of us and made us feel comfortable and in no way rushed. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Service was fantastic. We received complimentary after dinner port and dessert for our anniversary. We enjoyed the oysters rockefeller. I enjoyed the scallop entree but my husband did not care for his dinner as his risotto was not soft and creamy, but hard. They were also out of the bottle of wine we ordered, but when they told us, our dinners had already come so we just opted for a glass of wine. overall we had a nice experience, mostly due to the waiter.
Food was good. Especially the ribolito soup
Love this restaurant. The food is excellent. The service was courteous and unobtrusive.
A bit of a strange night. For kid, waiter told s they had penne so we orderd it. When the order arrived it was rigatoni which my kid hates. When we alerted him, he just said, sorry we don't have penne. Ok so if i ordered the freaking chicken dish and you didnt have it would you bring me pork? Absolutely HORRIBLE. So unfortunate. All you had to so was come out and say you were wrong.
The other dishes we had were over salted and mediocre.
Waiter was very nice but was trying to up sell alcoholic drinks which we do not drink.
I had often dined at Piccola Italia before they expanded and got a liquor license-years ago. Here's the deal: the food is quite good, well prepared and nicely served. The problem is two-fold: it's quite pricey, and the decor of the original dining room is ORIGINAL and doesn't really reflect the cost of the food. Some freshening would be in order. It's located in a small mall, and the prices make dinner for 2, WITHOUT WINE/DRINKS, close to $100.00 for two. A bit high.
No need to leave asbury area for this restaurant.
Went with family
4 kids age 6 5 5 11
And 2 adults
Asked for some simple dishes for kids
Like a butter pasta and just brought cooked ricatonni
Ordered the crostini which was good
The linguini clams was terrible
Veal chop mediocre at best
Most food over seasoned with pepper
Had a half bottle of wine
Rigatoni with sausage no sauce ??? Was terrible
Bill was 260.00
wow The server Marc didn’t pay attention to us
Late in picking up dirty dishes
Brought wrong orders
I think he was just upset we brought kids
But in fairness we’ll behaved was an early dinner
And as a foodie this place is not worth your time
Delicious food from appetizers to dessert. We had the oysters and roasted asparagus as appetizers, both we outstanding. The crab coated cod and crab cakes special were fantastic. A great bottle of wine and a dessert of home-made gelato and we had the perfect meal. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a real gourmet meal.
My boyfriend ordered the NY strip steak special and said it was the best steak he ever had. We both enjoyed our meals and drinks.
My wife and have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed everything. We love the unique food and wine selections. This was a special occasion and we brought four other people with us. We all enjoyed our meals and wine.
Food and service were impeccable. Lovely experience. It was very cool that the chef came to our table. Our kids loved it. The hostess (wife of the chef) was lovely and very accommodating.
Very nice and good food and service
We’ve been going here for years. Always great food and friendly service. This resturant never disappoints. Would recommend for any occasion or just yummy food for no occasion at all.
We got to the restaurant about 6 and had reservations but we were the only people in the restaurant. Started with calamari. It was cooked perfectly and they make it into strips not rings which was different. Some people don’t like the heads, they didn’t serve any with the order. Then we all had some thing different from the special of the NY strip steak, to shrimp scampi, to pork Milanese. The pork was awesome. Everything was prepared perfectly. For desert we tried the chocolate mouse cake and vanilla creme brûlée. The chocolate mouse cake fell short, the chocolate was bitter. This is coming from someone who doesn’t eat sugar other than what comes in fruit naturally. Only on special occasions will I have a bite while out to dinner. The creme brûlée to me, was more of a flan consistency.... more eggy and less creamy. I would still recommend this place so give it a try
I have been going to this restaurant since it opened and have never had a less than great meal there!
I don’t know how it took us so long to discover this little gem. Really creative and excellent food.
Ate at the bar by choice. Loved my food and service was good.
Delicious, best mussel special appetizer ever
Everything was divine!
We enjoyed our meal very much.
One of my favorite restaurants in New Jersey! Service is impeccable and the food is A++.
