Piccola Italia Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic as always. The people are great and the food is even better. We came for a date night in December, and they remembered us from when we had our Baptism gathering here way back in April. I had the best sirloin I have ever tasted, and my wife had the scallops. Both were done to perfection. I would gladly return for all of my special occasions and then some.
We were visiting the area and came upon this restaurant through Open Table. We were very pleasantly surprised. We dined very early and were met with a warm welcome and a tasty amuse bouche. It got even better from there! The food is imaginative, flavorful and made with local ingredients. Our favorites were the “loaded” potato soup, the house special seared scallops and the Nutella crepe brûlée. The staff is professional and courteous. The dining room is tastefully decorated with colorful artwork.
The entire dining experience was enjoyable. We’ll definitely be going back.
Celebrating my husband’s birthday at Piccola Italia was a wonderful experience. It was our first time here. Our server, Robin was attentive and personal. Starting g with appetizers through the main course and dessert, each was a culinary delight. The chef came out to introduce himself and offered us a complimentary white port wine after dinner drink. We highly recommend Piccola for your dining pleasure.
The food was just outstanding. Two of us had the rigatoni entree which was amazing and the other two in our party had the pork chop and buratta ravioli. The service was fast and attentive. We can't wait to go back! Definitely a spot I would bring family or friends for a special occasion.
Piccolo Italia is one of the finer Italian restaurants in the state. The food is prepared with great care by a very talented chef. I started my meal with the homemade burrata which was incredible. My main course was Veal Ragout with homemade pasta. Both were enjoyable. Looking forward to my next visit to try another dish on the menu.
six of us got together for dinner, I had the Claims Claims Claims its several different types of claims in a lite butter sauce over pasta. The claims are super clean and fresh. This dish was so good 3 of the 6 of us had the same dinner. My wife had the Tuna special and it was very good. The chef comes out to check on how you are doing, The staff is very good, they are there to help you and see that you have everything you want with out hanging around . Looking forward to going back soon.
Another Amazing meal! The specials are always creative and use the best fresh local ingredients!! Try the gnocchi, they are amazing! The menu changes often. Friendly service, always attentive and helpful with the specials! I cannot wait to go back again.
The bar was a wonderful selection of wine by the glass. I prefer the single malt scotch with the big ice cube. Great place to watch the ballgame.
Recommended to us so we thought we would try it and were not disappointed. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the martinis and the food - crab cake appetizer, tortellini soup, Kobe burger and pork tenderloin. One note.....would recommend that the chef remove the waffle fries and replace with hand cut French fries. We will definitely return to this excellent find!
Here we have great food and wine. However you must deliver menus and bread to customers within 5 minutes of sitting not 15 minutes Probably the best home made biscotti I have ever tasted. The scallops were very good but substitute risotto for mashed potatoes underneath. We will return
Early dinner so we were the only one in the restaurant. Dinner was very good. Wine list a little disappointing in that there is nothing under $35 and it went up over $100. I just think it is unnecessary for everyday dining. Service I'm not sure what to say. Three staff members came to the table at different times. One seemed rather odd. It was just awkward.
Food was very good. We sat in the bar area so it was noisy but not a problem. They had a couple big party's so service was a little slow. Waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable but disappeared for long periods. Clams and linguine, ceaser salad and lobster roll were excellent. My wife has some dietary restrictions they were very accommodating. I would definitely go back.
I hate to leave negative reviews but the food is totally Bland and not worth the price here for the portions! I had the shrimp scampi and he had the scallops. We split Escarole and beans and a caesar salad. The dressing on the side for the Caesar salad was totally watered down with no taste at all! Escarole and beans should read beans with garlic with only a few specks of escarole in it. The shrimp were about the size of 21 - 25 and only 5 of them and again totally bland sauce with a taste if lemon. I will not be back!
We went for dinner on our anniversary on the recommendation of friends. It was a Thursday night and not very crowded which made for a nice, quiet time. The food was mostly delicious. One exception was the broccoli rabe in my main course. Appetizers were excellent: calamari and also a bone marrow salad. The latter was very good and very surprising. A nice start. Wife had big, beautiful scallops and I had rigatoni (with the broccoli rabe). Desert was an apple cake with ice cream. All good and the price was very reasonable for such a well-prepared meal. We will return.
This was my first visit to Piccola Italia, after having read through several outstanding reviews left here on OpenTable. I made a reservation for 7:45, arrived at 7:00 (Prior plans ended earlier then expected), took a seat at the bar while awaiting for my table to open.
While sitting at the bar, the bartenders had their hands full with a full restaurant and some inebriated (also, loudly obnoxious) customers a few chairs down. Minding my own business and enjoying my drink, I overheard the wait staff talking between themselves standing behind us when one asked "How much trouble will I be in if I forgot to book someones entrees?" This isn't something I wanted to hear upon my first visit, so I shrugged it off as an accident.
My date and I were seated at 7:45, orders were taken, and at 8:30, our server came to tell us that he as well, forgot to enter our entrees. Now, this was a different server then the one we heard say that while we were at the bar, and in doing so, our two drinks were removed from the bill. Our entrees arrived at 9:15, and after 15 minutes, we were tired (Having been there total for almost two and a half hours) and asked for the check.
With that being said, the food was very good but we felt the portions were smaller then expected. After reading so many positive reviews, I left feeling like it might have been an off night for perhaps the servers.
Love this restaurant. I have dined here several times and never once did I have anything even mediocre...it is always outstanding ~ creative, delicious, fresh. Chef Brian is a Master. So grateful to have this hidden gem in our town.
