Piccola Bussola Ristorante - Mineola Ratings and Reviews
My entire party was disappointed with this restaurant. It may be that it was restaurant week so they didn’t care to impress or provide good food and service but everything we tried was from mediocre to bad. I went here thinking it was similar to the Piccolo restaurant on old country road in Westbury but I was wrong. I would not recommend this to anyone. We were placed in a dingy back room that left a lot to desire for. Overall bad experience.
Went there for restaurant week looking to plan an event price was right for the affair I was looking for. decided to taste the food had veal parmigiana which was at best very soggy the breading came off wasn’t crispy the bread basket tasted stale the salad over dressed was thinking my guest would probably opt for this meal. Was very disappointed. I’ve eaten at the other piccolo not sure if affiliated but food was far better. The restaurant wasn’t crowded yet so I can’t say it was busy
The best about this experience was Thomas he was delightful knowledgeable provided us with the information I needed. Unfortunately this will not be my venue
Late lunch for a large family group. Wait staff was helpful and friendly and although we did not mention a birthday directly to them, they picked up on the fact that that was what we were celebrating and treated our birthday girl to all the special trimmings. We stayed well after our meal was finished, but no one tried to hurry us out or push the check on us. We appreciated being able to relax and take our time.
We had a large group but the dining room is spacious and well suited for large groups (we were across from a group of about 20, and next to another group of about 10. The food was delicious... the stuffed mushrooms were outrageously good! Everyone was happy with their meals - good solid Italian food!
Food was very good. Portions are huge!. Small means a normal, good size portion. FS means family size (not full size). The FS portions can feed 2 - 3. We had Veal Marsala, Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Bruschetta and Seafood Risotto. All in the small (individual) size. We took home at least another meal of two of the entrees. We started with Calamari which was well fried, not greasy, but needed salt. We were too full for dessert.
Valet parking made it easy as the restaurant is on a busy street.
Food was beyond excellent. Service OK too- Monday night we were the only people there. Apps, Salad, Dinner, Wine - 13 people - could not even finish what we ordered. No room for desert either. Not one dish was less than amazing. We ordered everything. Bill came and I could not believe it $670 with a nice tip for 13 people - $50 PP total - cant beat it especially for a business dinner.
I have always loved the food, and that is why I return. This time it was very obvious, it needs a face lift. Room is old looking and has an odor. The bathroom was a mess. Not gonna visit again. Order to go. So you don't have to go. Sorry, love the food. Fix the place up
a great old style italian restaurant. the portions were huge and we had the small plates! my red snapper was perfectly cooked as was my wife's dish. our waiter was great answering all our questions, he made the meal more enjoyable. the stoli elite, my favorite, was perfectly served! we'll definitely return
Had gone for restaurant week and loved the food, so went back , very disappointing experience. Food was average , had the salad special, nothing to rave about then veal, which was tender but only 2 small pieces, I am not a big eater but it was not what I consider a regular portion. Not worth making a special trip
