Piccola Bussola Ristorante - Huntington
Chef Felix Girasaki, from Peru, started at La Bussola (our sister restaurant) in 1982. He was trained by owner Pasquale Lubrano, & is now the chef at Piccola Bussola. The wait staff is totally professional, & many of them have been with the restaurant since it opened.
All the selections on the menu are served family style on a platter rather than a plate. Desserts are as large as the entree selections! Our tiramisu is believed by many to be the best on Long Island. Wines are reasonably priced with an excellent house Chianti available.
A steady clientele of devoted regulars, & families that enjoy casual dining, make Piccola Bussola a favorite.
served with a pan of fresh marinara sauce
Food was excellent. Our server, Fredy, was great! Best restaurant around!
Food was very good. Service was seriously lacking, especially since we were the only table in the restaurant.
Food and service was excellent. Will definitely be making reservations again soon.
Excellent experience but always is!!!
We had an extremely lovely dinner at this restaurant
This was our first time to the restaurant. We had stayed overnight at the OHEKA Castle and were craving Italian food. The restaurant did not disappoint. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable. Service was very attentive. Noise level was high as the restaurant was very busy on this Saturday night. We especially enjoyed the chopped antipasto salad. We will return.
The Veal Sorrentino was excellent as was the Linguine and white clam sauce. Mussels Marinara was also excellent. The wait staff was excellent. They were very helpful with the menu and they were friendly and efficient. They checked constantly if we were in need of anything. The whole experience was great.
Food was delicious & plentiful. Excellent service.
Always a amazing meal. Absolutely delicious! The staff is amazing! Highly recommend
Outstanding food. Great service. Relatively quiet even though the restaurant was full. good acoustics
The entrees were great. The wine was great!
Waiter missed us with the coffee first pass, otherwise nice cheery service!
Dessert was very good.
Acoustics were excellent.
Had a thoroughly nice time there enjoying good food, good company and good ambiance.
Plan to return again soon!
Cozy atmosphere...attentive service...delicious food
Great place for a book club meeting. Nine of us met for lunch at Piccola Bussola in Huntington and everyone enjoyed their meal and dessert. Portions were large and delicious
My favorite Italian restaurant in all of New York ❤️
We were rushed and the waiter kept hitting into my husband We were disappointed
The food was delicious, service was great ❗️My husband and I enjoyed our dinner and would definitely go back again. Next time we’ll bring family and/or friends.
Long island restaurant week Friday night.
We were alongside the wall, but you can hear everyone’s conversations if you chose to do so. The long table near us had about four babies that lessened the experience.
The waiter was pretty good, considering that he had to serve that long table of about 12 people in addition to others.
The food was very good and serve piping hot. The seafood fra diavalo had a big portion of shellfish and the tomato sauce was to die for. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was good. My wife’s eggplant meatballs appetizer was delicious. She enjoyed her chicken dish very much and had plenty to take home.
Awesome food awesome place
Highly recommended to all
Solid food- great service- reasonable prices- old school Italian
Always an excellent menu. Courteous service is the norm.
I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate my sisters engagement and I’ve been to Piccola Bussola many times at their other location and it was always my go to. Unfortunately, that will not be the case for the Huntington location. I will say that the service was very good- the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. What was upsetting was the quality of the food. I ordered the veal chop, medium rare. It came to the table completely raw on the inside. I asked for it to be cooked more and they obliged but what i got back was a microwaved a rubbery piece of meat. It hadn’t even moved on the plate. Management was kind enough to remove it from the receipt and also offered to make me another dish jut at this point i was turned off and watched everyone at my table eat dinner. One of my companions had pasta with mussels and the pasta was very undercooked- i certainly wouldnt call it Al dente. She did not say anything so as not to upset anyone. This was certainly not the way to celebrate my sisters engagement.
Summary- service was good. Food was not. We will not be returning.
Baked clams are very tasty and meaty and the fried calamari was crisp and not chewy. The Cesar salad crisp and fresh.
Linguine and white clam sauce is always a winner with plenty of clams and roasted garlic.
For the mains the mixed Francese platter gives you a taste of veal, chicken and shrimp with just the right tartness. The Skirt Steak Americano is a tasty blend of marinated skirt steak, roasted potatoes and bacon. Very tasty!
The mixed cakes and tartuffo platter for dessert rounds out the meal with a tasty ending with a slice of Italian cheesecake, Tiramisu, chocolate layer cake and an ice cream ball. There may have been a cannoli in there but if there was it never made it to my end of the table.
The excellent waitstaff rounds things up and enhances the dining experience.
The food is fantastic!
Excellent food and service.
We had a delicious meal on 1/11. Service was great. Made a reservation and we were seated right away.
I really like this restaurant. We drive a distance to get here and we’ll worth the trip.
New Year’s Eve. We had 10:15 reservation and called to come sooner. “No problem”. Was their response. After maybe 10 minutes we were shown to our seats. Waiter appeared immediately. Drinks brought promptly, order taken - all done smoothly with plenty of time for us to socialize with our friends. Food was excellent. Highly recommend and will be a repeat customer. Happy New Year
We have dined here many times however on New Years Eve we were disappointed. Service was disorganized, several different people seemed to be waiting on us. We had to ask more than once for refills on drinks. All of the courses seemed to come out close together which made everything seem rushed. The food was not up to their usual quality. A platter of meatballs came out ice cold for example and had to be sent back and took a while to be returned after we had to ask "what happened to the meatballs?" Steak dish I ordered was definitely undercooked and cold. There was no dessert menu, just the waiter rambling off a few items. When it was time to leave I had to go look for someone to take my credit card. Maybe they had an off night, I don't know but disappointed yes.
The food is always very good and portions are generous.
A great neighborhood restaurant.
Food was delicious. In fact, every dish that we saw being served to other diners looked great, too!
Our reservation was honored promptly.
We’ll return soon.
Piccola Bussola never disappoints and is consistently excellent. The food and the selection of food is outstanding and the service, even on a very busy Saturday night, was great. It is a truly a classic white table cloth, terrific food Italian restaurant. And, given the food and service, the menu prices are very reasonable!
As usual, food was excellent. Service was fine. A consistent, wonderful restaurant!!
Four for dinner on Thursday evening. Everyone was very happy with food, not so with service. Had to ask for some items twice, like ground hot pepper flakes and grated cheese. However, all food items were well prepared and delicious. We all started by sharing a pasta bolognese. We then each had our own mains. I had a pork chop with hot cherry peppers--soft, properly done, excellent. My wife had a branzino. Don't remember what our friends had, but everyone was happy. Twi bottles of wine, 35$ and 38$, both reds, were reasonably priced and went well with the food.
Always enjoyed dining here... this particular time my wife and I were disappointed with our meal.
So the next time we dine here... we will order anything but what we had just ordered.
Service was excellent as always
Enter was perfect but salad and side fell short
Anniversary night dinner it was great and especially the price. Have been coming here too many years to count. always good.
Took advantage of their 26 th anniversary throw back menu.
Amazing deal and the best food and service. We dine there all the time and food always great. Our waiter Freddy always terrific
