Guests of Picante should begin with the amazing appetizers that include homemade soups, ceviche and sampler platters. There are meat and poultry choices too, and traditional dishes such as enchiladas, tacos, burritos, enormous fajita platters and combo plates ensure something for anyone who pops into Picante. The desserts are extensive and worthy of a visit too.
Great food, festive decor and Salsa lessons. What's not to like. A fun time was had by all!
We always enjoy going to Picantes. The food is Excellent! The service is always friendly & prompt. We love it!
Incredible food in large quantities for lunch.
This restaurant serves real Mexican food. The food tastes like you are in Mexico.
Many options on the menu. The wait staff was well informed about the dish ingredients.
My second times here. The food is good. Stop by check it out.
Seated right away. Server was attentive. Food (including desert) and drinks were great.
I ordered the shrimp fajitas which was a very large portion and came with a side of rice (choices included beans and cheese as well) with salsa, sour cream, cheese, guacamole and four flour tortillas. The is also the option of getting corn tortillas with every dish. The shrimp fajitas tasted amazing; my friends who ordered the bean & cheese chalupa and the ground beef tacos also loved their dishes and said the portions were very generous. We went at dinner time on May 4th (a Wednesday) and the restaurant was not too crowded, but definitely had a decent amount of customers. The ambiance is very lively, colorful and authentic & the service was quick and polite as well! I will definitely be back!
Great food. The owner comes out to talk to you about where in Mexico the dish originated and how the type of spices and chiles used. He gave us samples of the various sauces. We really had a good for our large group of 9 people. We will go back !!
Nice place for simply good Mexican cuisine.
We have been eating at Picante for over 15 years and are never disappointed. The food is consistently good, the service is always wonderful, the staff is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is casual. If you are in a hurry and want to avoid fast food~~this is the place for you! They have salsa dancing and drink specials too.
I'll come back when I'm in town. Thanks
Surly staff. Blah food. Weak margarita. Empty at 7:30 on a Sat night for a reason. Very disappointing.
The food is authentic Mexican food with a great variety of dishes and incredible flavors. Picante may be located in a strip mall, but the food and friendly, attentive service are way above average. The grouper special served on Valentine's Day was better than at most seafood restaurants in the area. Ask to sit on the side of the restaurant by the bar - the ambiance is nicer. If you are lucky enough to meet the owner, he will share the rich history of many of the dishes and the region they come from. I've made a few visits now for both lunch and dinner and it has never disappointed.
Very friendly and attentive staff, with good food makes for a pleasant night out.
Great food, attentive service. Lots to discover on the extensive menu. Wish I had been there for pleasure, rather than a business lunch - plenty of tempting margaritas on the menu. Great fajita option for vegetarians with portobello mushrooms and a hearty side helping of cheese if requested.
While some people prefer the generic chain Tex-Mex restaurant that offer a consistently decent menu tailored for the average American palette, my wife and I enjoy authentic, regional Mexican cuisine. Picante gives us exactly that - excellent dishes mainly from the state of Chihuahua but also from other parts of Mexico. The great food and the very attentive and friendly staff makes Picante a pleasure to visit time and again.
I was hoping this would be a neighborhood gem, but the food was only fair to good. I had a tamale, very heavy and not good flavor, a green tomatillo enchilada--eh. And a mole enchilada--substandard. The margaritas, although made individually--(I heard the blender) were bland and flavorless. The server was sweet and friendly.
My wife ordered Alambres, sauteed green peppers, onions, mushrooms, bacon & sirloin beef smothered in cheese served with homemade flour tortillas. I ordered Adobo de Puerco, lean pork cooked in a savory sauce made with herbs, chiles, guajillo, ancho and costeno peppers served with white rice. Both were delicious. There was enough left over for another complete meal which we enjoyed again that very evening. Service was very friendly and helpful. We just found our new favorite Mexican restaurant!
great time for a special occasion. great entertainment!!!!
Great food for Cinco de Mayo celebration! Good music and good performance.
This was our first time at this restaurant. The food was great and our server was great. It was nice that we weren't rushed through dinner. Nice date night.
Not a bad place to go to on a Sunday afternoon if you're in the mood for some genuine mexican food and some shots of tequila!
