Excellent food and the best service I have experienced in quite a while. Out of the way, but worth it if you are in the area.
Jaime was very attentive to our experience. This is a great place with a great view and artwork throughout. Excellent food and an excellent value for our Valentine's Day night out.
Very attentive service pacing the meal as we saw fit. Great food as always.
Absolutely NO ambience. The restaurant is wedged between what looks like a cafeteria and the bar. We made a reservation for a Friday night at 8PM - no need since there was only ONE other table having dinner. So - two tables in all - and the service was so slow. The food was fine, nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about either. I especially liked what they called "Italian Wedding Soup" - although it was not actually Italian Wedding Soup.
Jaime was our server and host and he did an amazing job with recommendations for dinner selections and was a very professional and knowledgeable server. The shrimp scampi was the best I ever had.
Next time if they have big parties going on in
The lodge they should b more prepared and have more staff
We had a great time! The server was nice and the food was great!
My husband and I have dined at the Piazza a few times. It is always a positive experience. It is a hidden gem in Oak Brook. I am a vegetarian and my husband has a more varied diet. We both find entrees to suit our individual tastes. The wait staff is very attentive and will try to please you any way possible. It is quiet so you can hear each other talk without yelling. Free parking is across the street from the hotel. We will definitely dine at the Piazza in the future. I highly recommend it.
Restaurant had about 30 guests and only 1 waiter that acted as a receptionist and buss boy.
Food generally good. Calzone was bad! Dinner stretched to 2 hrs.
Too bad...may not try again for more staff.
The restaurant wasn't very busy the night we went. The wait staff was excellent. Very attentive. The foods was terrific. Thinly sliced veal cooked to perfection and chicken vesuvio were our choices. Delicious cocktails, yummy desserts...we had a lovely evening!!!
Fantastic food, service, & ambiance. Hopefully will remain open with sale of property - it is a gem.
Anniversary & won a gift certificate from Chgo Gourmet Auction
Our waiter, Jaime, was excellent. He was enthusiastic and extremely attentive. The appetizers, main course and desserts were all delicious. Our group had a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Absolutely the best "hidden gem" fine dining restaurant in the Chicago area.
Our server was wonderful! Food was great! The noise from the bar was a little intrusive
Disappointing. However, I should start by complimenting our server, Jamie. He was delightful and tried his best. But, he was the only one there and had to do it all--set the tables, pour the water, take and bring the orders, etc. This is the Hyatt! How could they not provide more help. The host (?manager) assisted very very little.
The food was just ok. The restaurant opens at 5. We arrived at 7 and they were already out of some dishes (including the one I noted online and was most interested in). The sausage soup has 2 little pieces of sausage and was very salty. I did send it back and noticed that the "chef" seemed upset by that.
I have read the other reviews. Maybe, we were just there at the wrong time/wrong day; however, for us there is no reason to go back there when there are plenty of other good restaurants in the area.
I've been coming to Piazza for over 10 years and it's always been a wonderful experience! Food is delicious, great variety and beautiful presentation. Friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff. Take your time to relax and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. Love it!
The food was ok. The chicken parmigiana was not what we thought. It was really a breaded fried chicken cutlet. There was no sauce or cheese on it to make it a true parmigiana.
Outstanding food. Impeccable service. Love this place. So relaxing. Jaimie our waiter always makes us feel special.
We celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday at the Piazza. The staff there made sure we had a very special and memorable time. The food was fantastic! Both, the younger and the older guests, enjoyed themselves immensely. Thank you!
The best hidden gem in the Chicago area . . . here's hoping that with the sale of the property that we don't lose it.
Utterly fantastic. All food terrific, and service delightful. Thank you!
This is an exceptional casual/fine dining restaurant with beautiful ambiance and excellent service.
The food is cooked fresh and the options include Lamb, Chicken, Pasta, Ribeye and Filet.
A great place to slow down, relax and enjoy a quiet evening!
This was my second time here, and I was possibly even more impressed than the first time. The atmosphere is generally quiet and peaceful, although there were a few more energetic groups . The food is really divine and one-of-a-kind. We started with zucchini cakes (a little like a potato pancake, but much more interesting) and then had the watermelon salad. The flavors were really unique. For my entrée I had the tricolor pasta with smoked chicken and yellow bell pepper cream sauce. It was unbelievable, a true comfort food, warm and inviting. I really enjoyed the distinct and delicious combination of flavors -- and the visual appeal was great as well. Will definitely be coming back for another memorable evening!
Outstanding service and food. Dining room is kind of empty on weekends but lots of activity with weddings at hotel. Will definitely visit again.
Service excellent and so was food !! Overall experience delightful.
I found this place to be tucked away for all the Oak Brook Mall traffic with valet parking, great wine list, and tremendous service.
The duck confit carbonara was out of this world. It was so smoky and creamy amazing, the lobster ravioli was disappointing at "good." I wish we had both ordered the carbonara...for dessert too (although the tiramisu was delicious).
Our waitress, Kristen, anticipated our every need, provided valuable menu suggestions and made our dine memorable and enjoyable.
We've been visiting this restaurant that's hidden away in McDonald's Corporation's Hyatt-run hotel, located in a wooded campus on a small lake--tranquil and beautiful. No one, and I mean no one knows about this place, as there is no signage to indicate that this place exists. The midcentury modern facility is warm and inviting with a comfy seating area; oh, and yeah, the food is excellent with a solid bar. Service is really a strong point--very elegant and attentive. Love coming here, especially since we're only one of three tables that had guests! It's like having your own private restaurant. If you like the boisterous, hyperactive--ahem--ambiance that nearly all restaurants force upon patrons today, you won't enjoy this special place.
We've been to Piazza three times and it is never crowded, always quiet and the service has been attentive.
Our server, Zuza was a charming young lady who went out of her way to give us personal, unhurried service.
The food was excellent, as has always been the case and we will be back soon.
My wife and I went here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The food was just wonderful.
IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS SINCE WE LAST DINED AT PIAZZA. UNFORTUNATELY, WE FOUD THE QUALITY OF FOOD AS WELL AS THE PORTIONS TO HAVE DIMINISHED SINCE OUR LAST VISIT. TH CHICKEN VESUVIO LOOKED MORE LIKE A CORNISH HEN, THRE DUCK BREAST VERY SMALL AND NOT TENDER. OUR WAITER WAS WELL INFORMED AND HAD AN OUTSTANDING PERSONALITY. HOWEVER, NOT A VENUE WE ARE LIKELY TO CHOOSE AGAIN.
The Mrs. and I were staying at the Lodge for a one night stay-cation and gave the restaurant a try instead of going out. The food was good with the exception of dessert, service was decent but a little under staffed at points. If you're staying at hotel it's a great option since you can just walk back to your room. Nice ambiance and the potential for some great views (everything was snowed in when we were there.)
It has been a long time since we have gone to Piazza. The food was excellant. We could not give the same recommendation for the service. Our waitress may have been somewhat new and seemed to be much more busy than the other servers. The restaurant was busy but not overwhelmed. She was pleasant but just seemed like she was always behind. Again the food was great and we will return.
It's risky, sometimes, to eat at a hotel restaurant--seldom does the food exceed expectations. Piazza is far better than many. The food and service are very good. We had a prix fixe menu for Valentine's Day, and the food was very good, with modest, but satisfactory portion sizes. Each course was presented beautifully and prepared well (the fish was just a touch dry--our only criticism). Wine prices were reasonable, too.
There's a lounge/bar adjacent to the restaurant area, and there was a group that was loudly enjoying the Olympics, but even that wasn't enough to disturb us during our meal. Service was prompt and attentive, but not obsequious or intrusive.
Went here with a small group for Valentine's dinner and the prix fixe meal was outstanding. From the table bread to the berries/fruit encased in a HUGE chocolate "paper bag"... superb! Worthy of the fine dining experience found in the Chicago downtown restaurants. Service could be better, a little slow, but I guess it was an unusually busy night for them. The management was exceptional in their service when we had a little trouble with the parking situation. Warning: the Piazza is not an enclosed area. The raucous merriment normally associated with a bar, which is separated from the Piazza only by columns, can be readily heard in the Piazza. We didn't mind, but it did take away some of the romantic ambience on a Valentine's evening.
Easy in-out access, to quiet tucked away gem. Food & service excellent. Had Valentine's Day menu, very good and dessert was off the charts!! Going back soon to try regular menu. Adjoining Hearth Bar has vibrant feel, but also quiet spots around huge fire place.
I understand it was Valentine's Day, yet this had a pre-fixed menu and it was not overly crowded. The food was cooked ahead of time and I think we were served and done with dinner in 45 minutes. The fish was supposed to be served with brussel sprout(s). Well, if there was 1/16 of one sprout, I'd be surprised. The dessert was a chocolate box with cream and fruit and it was nasty. I think they filled it the day before and it was not fresh and pretty.
We went to Piazza kind of on a whim, and loved it. We ordered the white pizza as an appetizer, and thought quite highly of it. Beef ravioli and fettuccini alfredo for dinners, both of which were excellent. The fettuccini is up there with one of the best I've had. The chicken that accompanied it was top notch, a perfect balance of texture and taste. The only bummer was that we went in the cold, snowy winter, and weren't able to enjoy the views of the beautiful campus. Chances are quite high that we will head back when the weather turns to sit outside and enjoy this wonderful place again. Our waitress was fantastic, although her name escapes me (started with a Z). She was quite helpful on suggestions and was enjoyable to work with.
