About Piazza Sorrento

Voted "Best New Restaurant" by Harrisburg Magazine in 2009, Piazza Sorrento is a modern Italian restaurant based on the "Old World" Italian recipes of the owner's family back in Italy. The Bolognese sauce they grew up on and the tradition of family is the cornerstone of the Piazza Sorrento dining experience. Dedicated to providing the finest in service, food, and wine at a fair and competitive price, Piazza Sorrento makes regional and classic Italian cuisine using premium local ingredients while keeping the history of the dish and region intact.

Piazza Sorrento not only provides the best in authentic Italian cooking this side of the Atlantic, but also believes that all patrons, whether adults or children, should be welcomed like one big family - even those with certain dietary requirements. That is why Piazza Sorrento is widely known for their extensive Gluten Free menu, another reason patrons routinely drive over an hour or more to dine in relative ease and safety.

Inconsistent is the one word that constantly comes to mind. Sometimes great and sometimes horrible. Wait staff seems to change all the time too. I think that is part of the problem. Maybe the owner sucks to work for. Don't know. It will be a while before we go back

This was an amazing local Italian Restaurant that has an extensive and delicious Gluten Free Menu. The food was outstanding! We thought we were eating in a restaurant in New York! Everything was fresh and the GF pasta was fabulous. Even if you aren't Gluten Free the regular menu was equally fantastic!

Great atmosphere, very comfortable. Came for mothers day. Great service. Food was another story. It was only ok. For 20 to 30 a plate we thought we would get more veal and the gnocchi tasted awful. Not worth money when we don't go out often.

We went to an event in Hershey and wanted to find somewhere to get dinner that was good without breaking the bank. We were pleasantly surprised that it was right around the corner from the Hershey Lodge. In driving up it was next to a Subway and a gas station in a strip mall. So the expectations were not too high. We had reservations and were seated fairly quickly. The environment was nice, there was a mix of young couples, older couples, groups, families with children and all without it being unpleasantly loud. Our server was good as was the service. I requested a change from chicken to fish in the dish I ordered and received a smile and a no problem answer. Our dinners did not come out really quick nor did it take forever. The food was better than average. I would have no problem recommending this restaurant. A fair value and no disappointments.

We had never been to Piazza Sorrento's before. Decided to try it since it was very close to the Hershey Playhouse. It happened to be restaurant week in Hershey so we got 2 great entrees, 1 appetizer & 1 dessert for $30, a GREAT value. It was quiet when we arrived, early reservation, but got busier & louder as dinner progressed and our waiter seemed pretty busy, so he had to make an extra trip for more water & he forgot a 2nd glass of wine.
Still an overall good experience & we will return.

Only place I go to for Italian food in Hershey. Met an old friend here for lunch and were never rushed even though we were there for quite a while. Have the shrimp soup, salad and meatball sandwich. Delicious as always.

We were in town for the Heart and Soul concert at the Giant Center and had eaten at this restaurant several years ago. It was great again! We had a drink at the bar with an incredible bruschetta appetizer. Then we had dinner in the restaurant and the food and wine list opportunities were amazing! I had the eggplant parmesan and it was outstanding. Other in our party had the veal parm, chicken parm, and pappardelle bolognese. Everyone loved their dinners. Our waitress was very kind and efficient, and moved us out as soon as we were ready! Will definitely be back.

I expected this to be just another place to dine in, but I was mistaken. To put it simply, it's one of the best Italian restaurants I've had the pleasure to visit. The food was great, the service was great, our waiter was timely, polite, knowledgeable, and bilingual to boot! (Thank you, Milton!) To top it off, after a three course meal including drinks, we didn't break the bank, totaling less than $75. Finally, I want to compliment the best sauce and texture I've tried in a pasta dish. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area, too bad I was just visiting or it would happen again!

Have been here many times, coming in from out of town. This visit was very disappointing. Crab cake special was good; asparagus done perfectly. Lasagne was outright terrible, especially for the other Italian dishes that are good. Not sure where the pasta was...thin layer on top and one on bottom it seemed, with a mush of ricotta in the middle. Was tasteless, and the "meat" sauce on top was scant and lacked flavor. Waitress Kelsey was outstanding; knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Will think twice next time to visit Sorrentos.

The soup, salad, sandwich combo at Piazza Sorrento is a bargain for lunch. It is served quickly with generous portions. Homemade soups and salad dressings to choose from and several delicious sandwich choices . . . What's not to love!

We love this place. It has some delicious foods that you don't find everywhere. We started with the prosciutto, mozzarella and sage crustiini. This is outstanding. The flavor combination in amazing. They also have meatballs that are fabulous. My favorite dish is the homemade grilled gnocchi. It is grilled gnocchi with sundried tomatoes, spinach, peas and sausage in a delicious cream sauce. It is making my mouth water just thinking about it. It is THAT good!! This restaurant is a little on the pricier side but DEFINATELY worth it!!

During previous meals at Piazza Sorrento, I have ordered and enjoyed the butternut squash ravioli, both kinds. Neither was available during this visit. The waiter was very apologetic. I decided on another entree, Salmon Spinach Risotto, which was quite satisfactory. I ordered a glass of wine - not available. I asked about at least two other wines - not available. The waiter was again very apologetic and suggested a wine that his mother had ordered and liked - a red, the Federalist. I generally do not order red wine with seafood, but my options were limited this evening. I enjoyed the Federalist and would consider it again.

My fiancée and I tried this restaurant for the first time. We are both from Italian backgrounds so we are hesitant to go out for Italian as opposed to cooking. The food here is very authentic and delicious! We already plan to visit again soon and hopefully weekly. Our whole experience was amazing!!

This is the best restaurant in Hershey- a hidden gem! Skip the Hershey hotel and go here! From the outside, it doesn't look like much. Nestled between a 7-11 and a Subway, it appears that this is your run of the mill pizza joint. Inside, the restaurant is divided by a bar into the pizza area and a nice sit down restaurant.
We chose to eat in the restaurant with our family. The service from Jilian was phenomenal. She was so attentive to our needs, asking about allergies and food preferences. All of the pasta is made on side each day, as is the bread and soups. We had the lobster ravioli, chicken piccata, pappardelle bolognase, and the penne vodka. They were all amazing!
We'll be back here every time we visit Hershey!

food was excellent. Service was a little slow due to busy lunch and apparently maybe being short staffed that day. No reflection on our server - she did an excellent job under the circumstances. Always a pleasure to dine at Piazza Sorrento.

Attending a local convention with my wife, I was looking online for a GF restaurant because my wife has celiac disease. I came across this one which was highly recommended. It lived up to the billing. The kitchen was a little backed up but the food was excellent and they were and very accommodating for for GF allergies. We will be telling everyone about this one.

My wife and I went here for a Valentines's Day dinner a night early on Saturday 2/13/16. Our reservation was for 8:00 PM. Upon arrival, at 7:45 PM, we were told that things were "running behind" and that the wait was 45 minutes. Finally, at approximately 9:15 we were seated. The food and service were good, with the food making it to our table about 9:45-10:00 PM. However, soon after you could see the staff cleaning nearly every table for the night. We were never offered dessert (which looked great!) and by the time we made it out of there it was after 10:30. Needless to say the romance part of the night was long gone. Also, two other couples with were with stated they had about the same reception with their reservations which were slightly later then ours.

let me start out by saying the food was exceptional. We had reservations for 2 but didn't get seated right away, there was an additional 30 minute wait. The waiter was nice but he couldn't keep up, we didn't get drink refills until we specifically asked and that was well after we needed them. With all that being said the food alone is well worth the visit.

Pluses: I had Nonno Vincenzo's sausage and pasta, and it was really good. Our waitress was great. We were actually able to get a reservation, which wasn't easy with a huge marriage conference nearby. Then we found out why.

Minus: only one minus, really, but a significant one. It was the Saturday of Valentines weekend, and they severely overbooked the reservations. When we arrived for our 7:30 reservation, the hostess thought we were supposed to be at 8:30. I told her no, 7:30, and I had the e-mail confirmation. She told me they were running behind and it might be "a few minutes after 7:30 before we got a table. They finally got done calling the 7:00 reservations and started calling the 7:30 reservations about 7:50. At 8:20, she announced that the 7:45 reservations were about to be called. I called out 7:30, and she looked over at me surprised, asked my name again, checked the book again, and we finally got a table. Unfortunately, the kitchen was so overwhelmed that we didn't get our food for over an hour after we got seated. I felt sorry for our waitress. She was working her tail off trying to keep everyone happy, and doing an admirable job under the circumstances, but I'll bet she was never so glad to see a shift end in her life.

The food was amazing. My husband got the lasagna and I got the gluten free ravioli. They are excellent in catering to gluten free eating. We were told all pasta, sauce and mozzarella cheeses are made in house. You could definitely tell because the dishes were so delicious! Also had many homemade dessert. Will be going back soon!
