Excellent food and service . Atmosphere is very comfortable as well.
Cute little neighborhood place! Not a big menu. Appetizer we had the breaded goat cheese, big portion for 2 people could easily feed 4. It was not the best but good. Apparently very popular because they sold out as the night went on. I had scallops and they were huge! I did not care for the cauliflower and pine nut mixture they were laid on but the scallops were cooked just right. My husband had the special Mahi Mahi and he loved it. They make an okay dirty martini and his Manhattan was just okay too. Tables are very close together so no big jackets or handbags. We will definitely go back.
Been to Piazza Bella multiple times now. Love this place! Great food, great service! The Lasagna is absolutely to die for!
Always more than satisfied with great quality food, delicious specials and great service. Been coming for 10 years and food is always exceptional. Quality of sauces is unmatched to any other italian restaurant .
This restaurant is consistently very good. Cozy with a comfortable bar and staff is always friendly and willing to please.
It would be easier to go here more often if there were more budget friendly wine options.
Delicious late lunch on a cold winter's day
Returned while visiting from Milwaukee. This is a great neighborhood restaurant reminiscent of being in Rome. Great value
Definitely on the louder side for a small restaurant. But the short rib ravioli is a MUST! Loved the servers as well. Perfect date spot.
A neighborhood favorite.
Piazza Bella is reliably good for interesting Italian dishes. Real Italian waiters and a osteria feel. Always a good choice for dinner.
The menu is a little small but the food was delicious and they are very accommodating to any dietary requirements not addressed on the menu.
Wonderful! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and our wine , appetizers , and dinner were really great!
Good food, good portions, good service. A few larger party tables so the noise level was loud...but it is tgat time of year!
My sister and husband were in town and a friend recommended Piazza Bella. It was amazing, fresh ingredients, and handmade pasta. Great for any pasta lover. Our server was awesome, friendly, and comped a free appetizer and limoncello. We will be back soon!
Love this place. Yummy food in a favorite neighborhood spot. Very friendly service.
We had a lovely dinner here the other night to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was excellent--huge portions and perfectly cooked. The service went above and beyond what was expected. It was really a very enjoyable evening.
This wonderful gem is worth it every single time. I've been here with both large groups and small intimate dates and have never been disappointed. Even though my last meal was a late reservation they treated us so kindly and kept things fresh and light, the wine, the food, the staff, it keeps me coming back for years and years - 5 stars, cdont miss this place it's truly one of a kind. (Oh and there is valet if you are driving)
We had such a lovely time at a family dinner! The food and atmosphere was authentic.
A charming restaurant in Roscoe Village. The best spaghetti sauce and tasty meatballs. Highly recommend. Will return when in the neighborhood.
Great local spot in Roscoe Village if you are looking for Italian.
The bread was good. Lasagna tasted like just meat sauce. Calamari was ok. Waiter took forever.
Pizza Ella is the best, the best food , best service, best ambiance, it's an all time favorite! Love love love this restaurant!
Took by 17 year old son out for dinner in the neighborhood. I knew we were taking a risk because I had not heard good reviews from others that live close by but we decided to take a chance. Big mistake! This is NOT the same restaurant that it used to be. It is incredibly loud and to speak to your table mates you have to yell. I know that doesn't bother some people but you should beware if this is not your preferred situation. We were seated immediately since we had a reservation but it took forever to be acknowledged by our server and to get water etc. The server was polite but not attentive. The bus people kept trying to take our appetizer (fried calamari = eatable but extra chewy) before we were finished. I defiantly felt like they were trying to get us out of there a quickly as possible. They never came back to see if we wanted another drink and my son had to ask to get his water glass refilled. The final straw was my entree. I ordered the Capellini because I LOVE Capellini with "fresh cherry tomatoes and basil" which is exactly how it was described on the menu. But what they brought out had a red sauce with chopped tomatoes and basil mixed in, plus a ton of sliced raw garlic. So much RAW garlic that when I fished it all out I ended up with a pile of it on my bread plate. ( Who eats raw garlic? Tasted it just to be sure ) My son had the potato gnocchi which he said was ok. 3 stars are for the nice patio, pretty setting and the wine was good. Would have had another glass if they had asked.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Excellent traditional Italian food in a comfortable quiet setting. Meat and cheese plate was delicious.
Once again this neighborhood staple came up trumps - the lamb meatball special starter was delicious, and easily enough for two. I recommend they add it to the regular menu as a main as I would get it again, probably as a new go-to if the specials don't get me first! We shared a steak and a dessert too, both of which were cooked to perfection.
We always come here after attending Cubs games. Great, warm atmosphere. Very well appointed. Always have special pastas that are homemade. Great flavors. Sautéed calamari a must. Generous poured cocktails. The true definition of a "neighborhood find."
Met with some friends that lived in the neighborhood. The service was outstanding. Families, couples and business people all together in a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended
This is a neighborhood staple for us, particularly midweek, where we can rely on a few delicious menu dishes like the agnolotti, bruschetta or filet steak. But best of all is they have specials to offer something different to consider every time, and the staff are super friendly and generous with their time. And now the weather is good, they have the patio out front which is great for people watching!
We enjoyed a delightful meal at Piazza Bella on a Wednesday evening in July. We sat at a lovely table in the window and had a responsive and delightful server. The potato gnocchi in bolognese sauce was delicious and we loved the shaved slices of Parmesan cheese on our salad. The atmosphere is charming! We will definitely return!
Our favorite restaurant! We no longer live in the neighborhood, but come back often to eat here.
We had the rigatoni pasta with sausage, absolutely delicious. Pizza was ok, probably could have stayed in the oven a little bit longer, but the sauce was outstanding. Overall very good.
Always dine here after a Cubs game. Great location away from Wrigley Field. Sautéed calamari is a must. Risotto dishes are especially good. Always specials offered that make choosing an entree difficult.
Outside seating was great. Perfect day for a cold glass of rosé and a meat/cheese platter!
We recently returned to Chicago after four years and made it a point to have dinner with friends at Piazza Bella in our old neighborhood, Roscoe Village. This place is still a neighborhood gem! Excellent pasta and meat dishes, and the best, most authentic, risotto you will ever taste. They even made us their four cheese risotto even though it wasn't on the menu that night! Terrific!
We love Lupe and his staff! Our service is always amazing, the food fantastic, and we love the front tables by the windows.
Lupe was wonderful fixing a seating issue. Thank you, lovely evening. We will return!
Usually good. This time both past a selections were overcooked. We are not complainers and it was eatable but not up to standard. The caesar salad and wedding soup were above average.
This is a neighborhood favorite; so if you hope to have dinner there, be sure to make a reservation. If, however, you plan to have lunch and the weather is not yet warm enough for the patio, be sure to arrive in time to put in your order before the kitchen closes for dinner prep at 3pm. We arrived at 2pm on a Saturday, and there were very few people there, so it was quiet and the service was wonderful. We have also been there for dinner-- with a reservation-- and atmosphere and service was great then, too.
Love Piazza Bella. Consistently a great meal and always outstanding service!
