My sister and husband were in town and a friend recommended Piazza Bella. It was amazing, fresh ingredients, and handmade pasta. Great for any pasta lover. Our server was awesome, friendly, and comped a free appetizer and limoncello. We will be back soon!

We had a lovely dinner here the other night to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was excellent--huge portions and perfectly cooked. The service went above and beyond what was expected. It was really a very enjoyable evening.

This wonderful gem is worth it every single time. I've been here with both large groups and small intimate dates and have never been disappointed. Even though my last meal was a late reservation they treated us so kindly and kept things fresh and light, the wine, the food, the staff, it keeps me coming back for years and years - 5 stars, cdont miss this place it's truly one of a kind. (Oh and there is valet if you are driving)

Took by 17 year old son out for dinner in the neighborhood. I knew we were taking a risk because I had not heard good reviews from others that live close by but we decided to take a chance. Big mistake! This is NOT the same restaurant that it used to be. It is incredibly loud and to speak to your table mates you have to yell. I know that doesn't bother some people but you should beware if this is not your preferred situation. We were seated immediately since we had a reservation but it took forever to be acknowledged by our server and to get water etc. The server was polite but not attentive. The bus people kept trying to take our appetizer (fried calamari = eatable but extra chewy) before we were finished. I defiantly felt like they were trying to get us out of there a quickly as possible. They never came back to see if we wanted another drink and my son had to ask to get his water glass refilled. The final straw was my entree. I ordered the Capellini because I LOVE Capellini with "fresh cherry tomatoes and basil" which is exactly how it was described on the menu. But what they brought out had a red sauce with chopped tomatoes and basil mixed in, plus a ton of sliced raw garlic. So much RAW garlic that when I fished it all out I ended up with a pile of it on my bread plate. ( Who eats raw garlic? Tasted it just to be sure ) My son had the potato gnocchi which he said was ok. 3 stars are for the nice patio, pretty setting and the wine was good. Would have had another glass if they had asked.

Once again this neighborhood staple came up trumps - the lamb meatball special starter was delicious, and easily enough for two. I recommend they add it to the regular menu as a main as I would get it again, probably as a new go-to if the specials don't get me first! We shared a steak and a dessert too, both of which were cooked to perfection.

We always come here after attending Cubs games. Great, warm atmosphere. Very well appointed. Always have special pastas that are homemade. Great flavors. Sautéed calamari a must. Generous poured cocktails. The true definition of a "neighborhood find."

This is a neighborhood staple for us, particularly midweek, where we can rely on a few delicious menu dishes like the agnolotti, bruschetta or filet steak. But best of all is they have specials to offer something different to consider every time, and the staff are super friendly and generous with their time. And now the weather is good, they have the patio out front which is great for people watching!

We enjoyed a delightful meal at Piazza Bella on a Wednesday evening in July. We sat at a lovely table in the window and had a responsive and delightful server. The potato gnocchi in bolognese sauce was delicious and we loved the shaved slices of Parmesan cheese on our salad. The atmosphere is charming! We will definitely return!

We had the rigatoni pasta with sausage, absolutely delicious. Pizza was ok, probably could have stayed in the oven a little bit longer, but the sauce was outstanding. Overall very good.

Always dine here after a Cubs game. Great location away from Wrigley Field. Sautéed calamari is a must. Risotto dishes are especially good. Always specials offered that make choosing an entree difficult.

We recently returned to Chicago after four years and made it a point to have dinner with friends at Piazza Bella in our old neighborhood, Roscoe Village. This place is still a neighborhood gem! Excellent pasta and meat dishes, and the best, most authentic, risotto you will ever taste. They even made us their four cheese risotto even though it wasn't on the menu that night! Terrific!

This is a neighborhood favorite; so if you hope to have dinner there, be sure to make a reservation. If, however, you plan to have lunch and the weather is not yet warm enough for the patio, be sure to arrive in time to put in your order before the kitchen closes for dinner prep at 3pm. We arrived at 2pm on a Saturday, and there were very few people there, so it was quiet and the service was wonderful. We have also been there for dinner-- with a reservation-- and atmosphere and service was great then, too.

Over the years we have had mixed experiences and the last one was a reminder why we had taken a break from the restaurant. First they were not crowded but would not accommodate a change in table request. Then, they were out of lasagne at 6 pm on a Sunday night, the dish my son chose the restaurant for. When asked if he could get a half portion of pasta with just red sauce we were told they don't make accommodations for kids. So he ended up getting a large bowl of soup. My squid ink pasta, which I have had before and loved, was overly oily and not well presented. The experience did not feel like a neighborhood gem, but more like what you'd expect in a tourist big chain area. Very disappointing.

For years this restaurant was a neighborhood staple with a robust menu. The menu has become very limited and no longer includes the basics that they did so well. The food is good, but it used to be great. The service is always excellent. Good neighborhood place.

Very disappointing. Worst dinner experience in a long time for my wife and me, and we eat out a lot!! All this hype about home-made pasta a sauces translated poorly. Chef Boy R Dee would have been an upgrade. Ambience is as advertised, very nice, and the service was good. But the food was a disaster. My wife had the scallops. Marginal in freshness and the bed of pasta was bizarre in flavor. Actually tasted as if sprinkled with sugar. Same with the so-called Caprese salad which for some reason came as a chopped salad. My ravioli was equally disappointing. The sauce was thick and tasteless (and cold). The Chicago dining scene is very competitive. This is Little League food in a Major League ballpark. Stay away from this place. Not good at any price.

Stopped by for lunch. Wonderful, warm staff....very attentive, kind and informative. Loved, loved, loved the spinach, egg and chicken broth soup....wish I had gotten a bowl. Warm, fresh bread with parmesan and olive oil. Lively lunch crowd but the noise was not overpowering. The sauteed calamari was well prepared but not my best experience. Will try the grilled calamari next time. Will definitely be back. Cheers!
