I have been many times but tonight was the most disappointing. I ordered a salad with grilled salmon and I have never been served a smaller piece of fish ever. It was literally the size of a small biscotti. One of my friends had the same thing and we were both disappointed. I have ordered this before and the portion was acceptable. Service was mediocre. I don’t think you should ever have to ask for something multiple times. Especially when it’s just water or a compliment to something else.
Nothing to write home about but not awful either. Portions are large, my friend and I split a Caesar and a pizza which was plenty, Caesar tasted like bottled dressing, not homemade. Pizza came out cold. We had our waitress warm it up and it was better. Had the eggplant parmigiana pizza special. Would have been better if they didn’t bread the eggplant. It was way too crispy. We went for lunch, I would give it another try as the first for the pizza wasn’t bad,
Can't go wrong at Piattino! Appetizers are always amazing, pasta is always fresh. Arugula Arugula, Arugula!
The food was OK, nothing great and nothing worth running back here for. The server was attentive and friendly and made up for the odd interaction with the hostess who did nothing but look you dazed and look spaced out the entire time.
I love this place, it was my second time there and have nothing but great things to say. The food is amazing, atmosphere is warm and friendly and the waitstaff is fun and welcoming. I can't wait to go back.
Nice restaurant in the neighborhood. Fries a bit soggy, but everything was cooked to specification
We have eaten here several times and the food is great. This time we had Awkward service. We made reservations and arrived early to have a drink. host staff approached us multiple times to see if we would sit at the bar even after expressing we preferred a table and were happy to wait. We were also served salad before appetizer was completed and table was cleared. Had to send back due to small table for two. And then my white wine was served room temp which they replaced gratis, which was nice of them. Overall good but had some room for improvement.
Great addition to the neighborhood. Reliably good food, nice atmosphere, not too loud
I have never been disappointed here - quality homemade sauce on the meals with amazing service makes Piattino a place to frequent and enjoy.
They just can't make the pizza in the oven without burning it. Especially the mezzaluna. It either comes out burned or undercooked.
Always great, nice menu and good service! The pizzas are a must!
Can't go wrong here. You never get a bad meal. A go to for us.
Wonderful as always. Our favorite Italian spot. Everyone is super friendly and they are very accommodating of our 7 month old. Delicious meals.
My family goes to Piattino a lot- it's a favorite! We normally order calamari, salad, soup, and pizza. My mom and I went for a quick/easy dinner tonight and the food was sub-par, but still yummy. The calamari was flakier than usual, making it hard to dip. My Margherita pizza was delicious, but mom ordered a custom pie that was only okay. Service and ambiance was amazing, as always!
Very good, as usual. Apps came out quickly followed by the main courses. Everything fresh and delicious.
We went on Father's Day for the second time. Food was just as good as the first time. Service is very good as well. They don't rush you. It's a small place but doesn't feel small. I would definitely recommend this place as a solid casual eatery with good food and drinks.
Very good service and food to match. Ambiance could still use a little something but this is a nice restaurant.
Always a great place for lunch or dinner. Wait staff is always pleasant, and the food is very good and consistent. The bartender( young lady) is very nice and helpful with cocktail suggestions. It's our "go to" neighborhood place! I recommend this restaurant. Great for a quick bite, or cozy dinner with family or friends. Hosts are always friendly and accommodating.
I have ordered the same dish 4 times in four visits and it went from wonderful to mediocre. Service was not good as well, it took 10 minutes for someone to even come over. Pricing is high relative to value. I guess it is priced for the neighborhood.
Had a hard time picking from the menu , there were so many things I wanted to try. Went with seafood pasta which was absolutely delicious. It was on the smaller side, but ended up being plenty for me. Homemade pasta was yummy. Price was also on point at $22.
Service was good and the waiter gave honest opinions. Manager was also very attentive, noticing right away that my boyfriend wasn't sure his thick swordfish steak was cooked enough for his liking . Took care of it right away. Gelatos were excellent, esp the raspberry.
Would absolutely go back again, with or without kids, as there were many kid-friendly items (pizzas, traditional Italian meals) and there were lots of families in the restaurant.
Small cons: Restaurant is not very large, making acoustics an issue when crowded and the small bar area got a little loud at times with people watching the games on tv. Air conditioning was also up and down throughout the night.
Was hoping for more. Cute place. Good service.
However, food was very so-so. Ravioli not terribly appetizing. Steak frites, which was recommended by server, was cooked well...but simply amazingly bland. Perhaps that's my overall one-word review: bland.
Great local spot for a nice meal
One of best places in Morris. Never a bad meal. High quality food and staff
We have been here several times now. The food is excellent. We always start with the meatball sliders and someone always the ravioli or gnocchi as their entree. We've tried their pizzas as well- all excellent. We would highly recommend it.
Very nice and family friendly intimate restaurant. Personal service and very good food. Creative Italian American. We loved it our first and second time. We had to drive 45 minutes but it's worth it.
Our special occasion was never mentioned. Our points did not happen. We were to check back
later to get them. What is that. Server was not attentive. Food was fantaic. Great when we have two people but if we bring more, the service is never so good. The food brings us back.
What a find for us! This neighborhood restaurant has a "scratch kitchen". Everything is homemade and delicious. The portions are generous. I had the Piatino salad and enjoyed every bite. We had the meatball and clam appetizer - so good. Our meals were scrumptious. We are adding this to our list of favorites.
The mezzaluna pizza was spectacular but most of the rest of the food is ok. Trying too hard to be unique or a "foodie" spot. A bit overpriced as well but it is Mendham NJ. Been there several times only because it's close. Part of a chain with black horse pub and inn. 40 north I think.
Always love this place. The food is consistently very good and the service is wonderful.
My husband and I were looking to branch out from our usual dining spots in the Randolph, NJ area and saw a mention of Piattino on Trip Advisor. We gave it a try and were so glad we did! Although it is Italian, the menu offerings were creative and not just the usual choices. The green salad was plentiful, fresh and the dressing was light and delicious. My husband's bolognese ravioli with a white sauce was phenomenal as was the veal and gorgonzola risotto I ordered. The tomato flatbread served in place of bread or rolls was a nice touch. Our waiter was efficient, knowledgable and friendly and the ambiance was cozy and delightful. We will return!
Great food and what a great find
Food was excellent
Our first time at Piattino was a good experience. Home made Pasta and Meatballs were out favorite dishes. We had a little confusion with our or order which was quickly addressed by our waiter and hostess professionally and with speed, which was greatly appreciated. Seating can be a little tight if you are not in a booth.
Overall, a nice local establishment with well trained servers and good food.
Excellent service for a birthday party -- all were happy!
Delicious wonderful great wines by the glass. Loved it!
Dropped in for a quick meal before an appointment. Our server, Katie, was very accommodating to our schedule. Very friendly and genuine staff. Fresh delicious Italian food came to the table quickly!! Unexpected light, homemade pasta (tagliatelle bolgnese) and fresh, delicate swordfish with white beans. Great little focacia bread too. We didn't have time for the small bar/wine selection or dessert but we'll be back. A gem of a place in a strip mall!!
Had another great experience. Food and service was spectacular. Can't wait to go back again!!
My husband and I had dinner here recently. It was just ok for me. My husband loved it so much, he'd like to return. We were served "bread" upon seating. I would call it flat bread with dry sauce. Tasty, but not your average "bread" and butter. My husband ordered the chicken parmigiana - the best he's ever had. I had the Almafi Seafood pasta - not the best I've ever had, but the jumbo shrimp was the sweetest I've eaten in a long time. I drank a rose wine with my meal and thought it was a bit strong. It was the only rose they sold by the glass - I'm not a wine drinker, but have been looking to try a rose.
Hubby would like to return to taste their spaghetti and meatballs dish. I'd like to try their pizza - cooked in a stone oven.
I met my aunt for dinner, it has been a while since we both were here, and it did not disappoint! It was still delicious.
Seasonal menu additions that reflect different regions of Italy are quite excellent, and always make the offerings look fresh and new.
