We love to travel, and to eat! We have found that our most enjoyable and memorable dining experiences have been where we were able to order many small plates with just a few perfect bites of food, that we could share. Sharing food and experiences together made our connections to one another as a family stronger and more meaningful.
Piattini means "small plates" in Italian. Our fabulous creations are crafted from the finest, freshest ingredients; Organic, farm-raised, and locally sourced. We offer gluten- free options for 90% of our menus.
Food and drink brings people together, which brings community together. We hope that Piattini will become a favorite neighborhood spot in which community can gather and enjoy delicious meals, share some wine and savor good company.
Another excellent meal at Piatanzi.....always reliable.
Our experience here was fantastic! I took my boyfriend out for his birthday, so we went all out. From the wine, to the appetizer (mussels - so good!), to our entrees, to the dessert (I loved the tiramisu), to the cappuccino we shared, and to even the BREAD (haha), all of it was incredible. The service we received was stellar too. Great date night spot! I highly recommend. We'll be back.
Fair, the menu has been expanded and there are a lot of choices. I had clams with pasta and my partner had the shrimp with pasta (they called it scampi, but it wasn't). Not bad, but a bit un-inspired.
We love this casual neighborhood Italian restaurant where the pizza, pastas, and appetizers are very good. The full entrees are undoubtedly wonderful also, but we tend to like smaller plates and have not ever been disappointed.
One my favorite things about Piatanzi is its price points, especially for wine. Rather than starting at charging double for a bottle, this place seems to truly value having you accompany a well-prepared, tasty meal with a very good bottle of wine, and not gouging the patrons. The noise level can be quite loud here if you choose to dine at 7:15 or earlier, but it subdues somewhat after 7:45, probably owing to how it's tucked away in a quiet, kinda affluent neighborhood. The truffle oil fries are very simple, but they are hot, crisp, and pretty addicting. If you're craving pizza, theirs are large and filling. Generally everything on the menu is very good though on this night, the carbonnara seemed to underwhelm my partner. All in all, I am happy Piatanzi has been nearby for about a decade.
Food was not very good. Ambiance and service were nothing special. Very pricey!
Piatanzi is consistently good with its seasonal specials, a good wine collection, and service.
I always enjoyed dining at Piatanzi, and I was more impressed this time around by the owners' professionalism and service. Fantastic dishes (including seasonal plates), great service, and a fine place to do business lunch or dinner. This is a local gem that deserves a visit.
I live close by and is very handy to walking distance and the food was great.
Always a special meal, whether for a celebratory reason or daily life.
This was our first time at this restaurant and we were very impressed with the service, food and ambience. Four of us had a variety of appetizers (I would go back JUST for the roasted brussel sprouts!), followed by pasta, chicken. One of our party did not care for her wine choice, and the waiter, then manager were prompt to suggest alternatives until she was pleased. We were delighted with the food -- and there was plenty of it which we took home. Amazingly delicious even reheated!
The restaurant looks newly built and has a modern upscale vibe, although not snobby at all. We are looking forward to returning and trying more dishes.
Found this restaurant on my GF app when I was visiting Albuquerque - went there for lunch and ended up taking family and friends there for dinner the next night. Everything was fantastic from the service to the food.
This was our first time here. The service was great right from the start! They were good about asking if we needed to be out by a certain time for a show (we did!) The portion size was decent so we could share an entree (lasagna bolognese), got our own salads (misto very large) and shared a dessert (chocolate flourless torte with whipped cream and strawberries). Everything, including the wine was excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant!
Had a lovely evening last Friday with good food and a nice bottle of Malbec. Our waiter got us served and presented the bill in plenty of time to make a oerfornance - nothing was rushed
I recommend it all the time and take visiting friends and family there all the time. I live in the neighborhood and am so delighted we have a reliable white tablecloth restaurant just up the street as it were. Keep it up.
Inattentive service. The waiter wasn't very good, which is uncommon for this restaurant.
Great place to meet friends for a casual and quality dinner out!
A great place for all occasions with a wonderful wine selection and great and knowledgeable staff!
Consistently fantastic dishes and ambience for business or personal dining. The restaurant is a gem.
Great food!! Great place for couples
The best pizza I have had outside of Italy. The crust was amazing and the sauce just right.
We are here on business and absolutely love the New Mexican food, but are lovers of all things Italian and these guys are fabulous at what they do. Had the special scampi with pasta dish! Delish!Could not finish as I was too full , but I almost did.
Enjoyed our food very much. Gluten free pasta needs a bit of work, but overall very tasty. We will be back!
Consistently excellent food quality and service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone, whether it be for business or for a date.
Just getting worse and worse. Bad wine suggestions, bad service, and lousy food. This used to be a great place. What happened ?
A terrific experience. They have a large, Italian-centric menu that covers most of the bases and a wine list that does the same. My wife and I had a late dinner at Piatanzi on New Year's Eve and it was perfect. One of the very best restaurants in New Mexico.
We went in on New year's Eve with our 6 month old. Wasn't too dark or lit, no noise, and while bistro seating normally bothers me, it wasn't a problem here. Our server, Jessica, was kind and knowledgeable. We ordered the polenta and grilled artichokes for appetizers and they were both amazing. The caprese salad really wasn't great, but this isn't the first place we've experienced that buffalo mozzarella and burrata don't really exist in New Mexico... and that's okay. We ordered a margarita pizza and fettuccine with green chilis and had to get them to go. Neither was good, honestly, but the appetizers were and the ambiance was and the service was great.
It's a regular for us - a gem in every way - always good food, good service, good atmosphere
Their pasta tends to be too salty, lacking in subtly in general. Good beer selection.
Piatanzi is a neighborhood restaurant that we frequent often. The wait staff are friendly and the food is good.
This Saturday night was not very busy, at least until the after-Philharmonic crowd arrived. Service was very prompt and the food excellent. My wife had the pork tenderloin special with risotto, and I had the lamb ragout special. We shared a generous Caprese salad and a dessert with coffee. The wine list was excellent, fairly extensive and reasonably priced, and much superior to the seriously out-of-date list on their website.
We look forward to returning.
A nice experience, as always.
Ordered eggplant parmegiana and it was 85 percent pasta. I did not want macaroni. Disappointed
Delicious food!! Great service! The dessert was also amazing.
My fish was dry -- (over cooked). My wife's veal dish was huge and the waiter should have pointed that out.
Delicious and different smoked trout pasta. Also ordered the special salad of the day with smoked mozzarella and arugula, both were very delicious, YUM!
The restaurant is understated in decor, with calming colors. It is in a residential area, and looks as though it would easily be a local neighborhood favorite.
Menu is extensive, as is the wine list. Lots of choices. My friend and I were taken by the watermelon/beet gazpacho. Who thinks to combine these two? It was quite good. Sandwiches for lunch were well constructed on delicious bread. Server was attentive but not intrusive. Wine pours were generous, unlike some restaurants who are stingy with the pours.
First time for my friend and I'm sure she will return. I'll be back as well.
Dinner was wonderful ! We truly enjoyed our meal, & the staff, & the ambience were very relaxing . We will be back!
