Piacere Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
We were excited to try this place having heard good things about the food. Unfortunately service was not good. It took forever to be seated even with a restaurant and we were constantly told by our waiter that they were so busy, even though there were several empty tables. We were not given water when seated and had to ask for it, even then we were given only half glasses full of FREE TAP WATER. I would not go back and I would not recommend. Which is unfortunate because the food was good and the value was good too. This restaurant needs to get its act together.
The food is just OK. Service was a little slow as it was busy with a few larger groups that had celebrations. The pasta and meat dishes were just fine but the pizza was not at the standard that's expected from the more authentic wood fired pizzerias that I've been to.
We have enjoyed dining here for many years. The food is consistently delicious. It can get noisy as it did this time. There were multiple large family groups, birthdays etc. They accommodated all well, service was friendly and efficient.
On other occasions there were all small tables, couples etc, so noise was not an issue.
I would highly recommend, prices are a great value for the quality of the food. It seems to accommodate large groups very well too. House wine was also an excellent value.
I was completely dissatisfied with my experience. The menu boasted many great options, but when the food arrived, it was not up to par. The service was absolutely horrendous. The bus girl removed my plate as I was eating my meal, and the waitress shouted across the restaurant many times throughout the night. Worst romantic Valentine's date. I'm so sorry to the owner for the disgrace that his employees are bringing to his restaurant. I will not return, nor will I recommend this restaurant.
My husband and I visited on Valentine's Day so, understandably, it was quite busy. We were greeted very warmly and offered a lovely table, however; being in the corner, we were overlooked quite a bit. Others who were seated after us, had begun on their mains before we had even received our app. Our server was very pleasant, but absent quite a bit. Let's just say we enjoyed a 'leisurely' meal and some 'time for us.' My husband and I will definitely return (on a less 'hectic' day). The food is always delicious, the staff friendly and the price point very reasonable.
My wife and I showed up for our reservation on time 8:15. Another couple shows up and states they do NOT have a reservation and they immediately get seated before us. This happens a second time and my wife and I begin to think it's because of our Asian background. I politely ask what is happening and I get a finger waved in my face and we are told to wait again. We were never rude nor confrontational with the waiting staff at any time. We leave the restaurant never having been seated and never having felt so discriminated. I really hope the owner can check the video recording and make sure this never happens again.
Three couples went out for a Saturday night dinner. The appetizers were excellent and generous portions. Entrees were well received, the veal Marsala was tasty, the pasta with lamb was sublime. The rack of lamb was juicy and tasted great. The salmon was delicious. Everyone commented at the quality and quantity of the vegetable sides. All in all a night of good food, good friends. We would happily return.
The food was great, however, the service was even better! I enjoyed every moment spending at the restaurant and I can definitely say I will for sure visit again! It was a very nice atmosphere, I felt as if I was home. The service was fabulous, the waitress was outgoing, but professional and made us laugh which made our night even more special. Looking forward visiting the place again with friends after the holidays!
The food was good but the service was horrible. The server seemed to want us to leave right from the start. She was rude, grabbed menus forcefully from our hands and told us we couldn't change our minds despite the fact that she hadn't even finished taking our orders.
We were chatting and she came over to ask us something. When I asked her to repeat herself, she rudely told me that I should have been paying attention and she began to walk away. I told her I still hadn't heard what she said and was told that someone else already answered the question so I didn't need to know.
The server brought the bill without us asking for it. We were celebrating two birthdays and chatting. When she brought the bill, I asked her to split it. She went into a tirade about how they don't do that and it says it on the menu. I said that was fine and that we would all take out our calculators. She came back a few minutes later and said that she would split them this time but it's against their policy. She then leaned right in to me and lectured me about how I should have asked for that when I arrived and that I had plenty of time because I was the first one there. My response was that we hadn't asked for the bill yet so her having to redo it was her own fault.
The server came out again and asked if she could clear the dessert plates as the dishwasher was leaving. We said that was fine as long as we could keep the glasses. She then reached across the table and made us pass her the plates instead of walking around and collecting them.
There were many other incidents during our dinner but the letter count is dwindling. Suffice it to say, we will not return to this restaurant. I refuse to pay for lousy service when there are plenty of restaurants in and around the city.
Attractive although basic decor. In a strip mall. From the minute we walked in til we left, the service was either overdone and too familiar or absent. Overly friendly service is great in a bar but not for dinning out. The appetizers were very good and enjoyed by all. However, the mains were just average in flavour and my Oslo buccaneers was tough.....with a horrible sauce.
There are other choices in Woodbridge....
As always, my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at Piacere.
From the time we were greeted at the door (until our departure) the staff was friendly, yet very professional.
The food. Well, what can we say?... other than utterly delicious! Yes, the presentation was artful, but more than that, everything we tasted was cooked to perfection (the large pieces of calamari fritte had a light coating, fried to perfection). This is not your 'standard' Italian fare. It's been elevated to sublime.
After dining here, most other ristoranti fail in comparison.
Bravo Piacere! You never disappoint!
We had grilled octopus to start. It was perfectly cooked. The pasta with smoked chicken could do with a little more flavour but it certainly not drenched in cream sauce and it was good. The bacalao was a monthly special and it was recommended by the waiter. It was delicious and could eat that again and again.
The restaurant had too many tables and chairs. It is very crowded. We were a table of 8 guests and were placed in a very tight corner. The waiter got our orders wrong. He tried to correct them but ending up serving food that was burned. We weren't offered a discount or a free dessert for the waiter's error.
