Has a fun Palm Springs ambiance, and misters on the patio. Great Happy Hour and entree menu and nice cocktails too! Some of the dishes have come out a bit salty for me, but I definitely love going here for a casual dinner with friends.
Happy too write this, I have been searching for food such as 533 Viet Fusion for the 19+ years I have lived here. My group of 3 were really happy. The space has dramatically changed over the years yet it looks great. Music is good. Staff is very tentative. We all tried different dishes and were please. I had a yellow curry dish and it was so very delicious to be sure. I was also impressed with their dishes and flatware... it was authentic and different too. Looking forward to September when they return from summer vacation.
While discovering this wonderful restaurant accidentally, I’m a repeat diner now. Comfortable & cozy dining couches make the creative cocktails even easier to love. Now about the menu.... while I’ve not tried everything, I’ve come close. Crazy about the Thai chicken meatballs, & the chef does things with lobster & mango which makes it addictive...in a really good way. Service is professional & friendly.
Great spot. Food is fresh, creative and delicious! Fun Happy Hour menu and the staff is terrific!
Good food and great service. Always a pleasure that eat at this restaurant.
Tried this out on our recent trip to Palm Springs - we both love Vietnamese cuisine and knew this would be more fusion, so we were well prepared to 'not' have authentic.
Host at front desk was extremely sweet, accommodating and responsive when we arrived. Server came not too long after sharing there was an issue with the technology and he would be back, which he did about 15 minutes later. Not a fan of that - how hard is it to get a drink order going for two people without technology?
We ordered two entrees to share - the pad thai with duoc pork, which I preferred, and the Saigon noodles, which my husband preferred - both were good. The 533 sauce which is the house spicy sauce is excellent. They should bottle it for resale.
Server did recover from the earlier 15 minute wait to see him again, and the server support with water, etc, was excellent.
Noise level not too bad, but there were children there that were a little less than quiet...
overall, would go again, maybe later in the evening when less likely to see kids and perhaps sit closer to bar area.
Great place, love their spring rolls! Second time we were there, will definitely come back.
Food was great. A nice way to start the weekend with a nice lunch. Not as loud as it can get which was also nice.
Yes with reservations. I always order the Vegetarian Pho, vegan style (steamed tofu in lieu of fried tofu). Although I ordered steamed tofu, I got fried tofu. The reason this makes a difference to a vegan is because the frying vat is used to fry meat and therefore cross contaminates plant based food. The vegetarian broth is also inconsistent, so I have taken to asking to taste the broth before I order it. When it is good, it is good. When its not, it is bland. 533 Viet Fusion is one of my favorite restaurants and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I keep going back because of that. There seems to have been only one waiter working last night, so maybe that was the problem.
Great food and outstanding service. They don't have a kids menu per se but they worked with us on appropriate size for our 8 year olds who love Vietnemese food. Really liked this place a lot.
Great place to bring friends. Very consistent overall. Service is excellent, staff very attentive. Al is welcoming and gracious.
Not authentic Vietnamese dishes... but it draws a good crowd so perhaps go more for the social and less for the food.
Initially this was not the best experience; we were basically ignored at the host stand for quite a while, and then a server finally gave us a cursory “someone will be right with you” and walked away. Once seated however the service was very good and the meal delicious. Management would be smart to review their customer greeting procedures with the staff...
Tasty food but ambience rather basic and plastic. Also expensive compared to similar standard of cuisine.
Nice open indoor casual dining with outdoor patio seating area. Good Vietnamese fusion food. Liked the crispy egg rolls, fried chicken, Saigon noodles and summer rolls. Will need to try their pho. Great friendly service.
We had a great dinner last night and it was amazing food and service. The vermicelli salad was excellent and tremendous flavor. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
If you enjoy spicy Asian fusion you will I’ve this restaurant.
They have a separate menu just for pho and another for spring rolls on top of the traditional items. The food and service is excellent but the spice is not for the timid.
Quiet early dinner, 5:30pm
Ordered many appetizers, bottle of wine , 3 entrees!
Everybody enjoyed the experience
Very good food and service. Would go back
We were hoping for great Vietnamese, but this was fusion that lost its way conforming to American standards. We tried Bun (noodle bowl). The barbecued meat was thick and not grilled like traditional cooking and the portion was double the appropriate amount. It tasted okay but was plain compared to a true Vietnamese shish-kabob barbecue. Noodles were not vermicelli but were thick and disappointingly cold. Vegetables were good, but lettuce was added. All told this place was a disappointment having lost key values of Vietnamese cooking.
As always, excellent food and outstanding service!
This restaurant is a hidden treasure! Many veg/vegan options, very unique dishes with amazing freshness and consistency! Make a reservation through Opentable because this restaurant will list different offers when you book your table.
This is a must when we are in Palm Springs. The food is tasty, full of flavor, and portions are perfectly sized. They may seem small but you leave feeling full. Definitely try the Meatball martini appetizer. It's dynamite.
Was one of the first customers @ Pho 533 before the original owner sold, and have supported this space till now. Other's seated after us served first, Pad Thai was dry and a sticky glob. Sadly- I'm done! Always happens - eventually, when out of town ownership seems to only be in the Desert market for a profit!
Birthday Celebration. 533 Viet Fusion’s menu is extensive, and well thought out.
The crepe is the best thing ever. We love this place!!
Awesome staff. The food was very good. I have a shellfish allergy which removed many options for ordering. The cocktail list didn’t draw me in. My Paloma wasn’t good. For beer selections I would have preferred more traditional imports like Singha/Tiger Beer, Tsing Tao, Kirin Amber, Sapporo, etc. or Hot Sake. This place needed “signature cocktail” like an unbeatable MaiTai or a refreshing “Chuhai” (Sochu Highball of Sochu, soda, and sweet lime syrup).
I liked that I could order Pad Thai without seafood. The curry interested me, but I was warned it is very spicy (hot). The spring rolls were well crafted and didn’t fall apart. The dipping sauces were a bit too thin for me, and the dipping sauce container was too narrow to actually “dip” into. The pork based spring roll was our favorite.
If someone has trepidation around Asian cuisine and only likes “familiar foods” the choices are limited. I would not take strangers or picky eaters.
Again, the service was very, very, friendly and attentive. The food presentation was well done. Portions were adequate, but I expected slightly larger for the price, but it was plenty.
I would go back. I think it’s a place that gets better with familiarity and knowing what to expect.
Went to the restaurant due to good reviews. It was a disappointment. Not going to comeback or recommend.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant! Definitely One of my favorite places in Palm Springs.
Can't wait to go back! Very attentive staff, perfect martinis and each course carefully prepared.
Wow! We really enjoyed our Restaurant Week 2019 dinner here. The food was terrific and the whole staff was very attentive and kind. Absolutely will return!
Unique offerings. All fresh and healthy and delicious.
Much quieter for lunch than in the evening. We were given 2 menus. Had to request the Restaurant Week menu.
This refreshing oasis in the desert is an experience not to be missed. Unique and diverse offerings of superb flavor combinations keep the palate anticipating the next taste. From the comfortable seating options (indoor and patio); the superior service staff; the spectacular array of adult libations; and the adventurous menu, this was a Class A experience from check in to departure. Our group of 6 (three couples) could not stop talking about the phenomenal meal that we shared at this incredible dining establishment. Pro Tip: Order the Lemon Drop - it compliments almost everything on the menu and will keep you smiling for the duration of the evening.
Innovative menu. Very well prepared and presented dishes. Good balance of spicy and sweet. Good value.
Our server Philip was very friendly, knowledgable and prompt. Great place, dining outdoors with a view of the magnificent mountains and my special husband.
I think the server had to many tables.
The food was delicious, we love eating at the restaurant.
This was my second time for dinner in as many days, and have already recommended it twice! Philip took such good care of me! The food is tasty and clean and vibrant. Bravo!
Love this place. Food amazing.
