Online menu much larger than Sunday lunch menu.
Every was good except for the fries that came with the meal. They were cold and hard.
Celebrating 32 years of marriage and wanted to enjoy the Inner Harbor. As always the food was great, my meal could have been a little hotter temperature wise, even the appetizer fried lobster balls on a bed of cold slaw could have been at least warm. We used Open Table to reserve a table and was able to walk right in. The evening was awesome! The wife really enjoyed it!
Nice night to eat outside in Baltimore. Met with a friend that I haven’t seen in a couple years and have a good start to he evening here.
The food was outstanding. The service was extremely good. We went for an early dinner so no waiting for a table. A fantastic experience overall.
Our waiter was HORRIBLE. The food was good but I just could not get over the horrible service we received. We waited over 20 mins to get our drinks refilled AND that’s after we had to wave her down. When we sat down we were given bread, but had no utensils to eat it with.... My guest seen our waiter while she was walking to the restroom and asked for more warm water and that took her 15 mins to get. I’ve NEVER waited 20 mins for a refill/ or to pay our bill. She was VERY un attentive! She NOT once ask how our food was after it arrived and our entrees came before the soup we ordered which I had to cancel (had to wave her down to ask about our soups when she never came to ask us about our food) because I HATE that a appetizer would come BEFORE a maincourse. My overall experience was just frustrating. Ive never had to wave down a waiter so much for service!
Service terrible. Food average at best. Price too high. Been here several times. Was probably the last time.
We visited Baltimore and knew we needed some great crabs! We were originally seated in what appeared to be a bit of an overflow dining room. We chose to move to the high-top table / bar / piano bar area and it was a GREAT decision. In addition to no crying kids (I’ve been there and done that), the service was excellent, the clam bake was delicious and the crab artichoke dip was ridiculously good! We will definitely be back!
Overpriced and food was
Anytime I'm in Baltimore on business, I make it a point to have dinner at Phillips. The seafood is fantastic!
Our server Faisal was fantastic & it was his 1st day serving there!!
We were looking forward to a good seafood meal after visiting the Aquarium but terrible service ruined it.
Ordered appetizers which took a long time to come out. Food was good.
Then after an extended wait, the dinner arrived. Well, most of it. My daughter's meal wasn't served. When we asked the server where the meal was, she blamed the kitchen and that they brought out the other meals before the order was complete. She had ordered the crab cake slider with fries, os that shouldn't take but a few minutes. Wrong.
We took our time and her meal finally showed up, after everyone had practically finished their meals.
The server said she would offer a cheesecake to make up for the late meal, which was nice. We asked for desert menus and asked if we could substitute something else instead of the cheesecake. The server said sure and left without clearing the table of the dinner plates.
We waited a while and the server showed up with a cheesecake and the check. We reminded her that we wanted dessert menus. She says okay and leaves, without taking the dinner plates.
We wait. She comes back with the dessert menus and we ask if she can please clear the plates off the table. We order dessert, keeping the cheesecake.
By now you get the point. The only low point for the food was my fried fish was undercooked and mushy. Everyone else's food, at least the food that arrived, was good.
For the price, the experience was a disappointment. Will not be back.
We went to Phillips for my birthday. We had a wonderful meal, premium seafood platter and the ultimate crabcake. They were both wonderful. My fiancee had signed up for the Phillips club to get a free appetizer, but the email never came. We told our server, who asked the manager, they gave us a free crab, artichoke, spinach dip. That was also delicious. Overall, I highly recommend Phillips, we'll be going back, but probably for special occasions.
Soda comes with a kids meal but a Shirley temple( which every other restaurant on the planet makes for a kid) is $3.50 extra which the waitress did not mention. Other drinks were forgotten along with soup and double charged for a burger because we sent the first one back because the bun was swimming in grease. (Extra burger was taken off the bill at our request)No I would not recommend this place very disappointed
Food was ok but not worth the price. Way to expensive for the amount and quality of the food. Service was good.
Overall very good. Server pleasant. Little too much time between appetizer and meal.
Wonderful. Best pasta ever!
Food and service were terrific
Outstanding Lobster and white sangria! Didn’t like a catered dinner was going on. It was bit noisy. But overall nice experience for the first time
The service was poor and it took a long time for the food to come to the table. When I asked the waiter why the appetizers where taking so long (20 minutes at the time I asked), his response was, “We are busy”. The restaurant was about half full. 5 minutes later, our appetizers and the meal came out together. 3 of the 5 meals were not cooked to order.
Lucas was an exceptional server. Crab cakes were phenomenal as usual. The $5 special of 4 oysters and 6+crab claw lollipops were so good we had to have 2 servings! The bloody marys rocked!!!
Amazing. Baltimore is so nice and the people were very kind and the live music was really good.
This was my first time going here and I was completely satisfied with the food. The crabs cakes were so good. Seafood was fresh and very tasteful.
The food was presented beautifully, cooked perfectly, and tasted delicious! Our waiter, Edgar, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the selections. The restaurant does not offer “sweet tea” but Edgar made sweet tea for me! The host was friendly and we were seated in a timely manner. The atmosphere was enjoyable. We took advantage of the $10 valet parking...awesome deal. We can’t wait to travel back...we’ll definitely eat there again!! Thank you!
I would have given them a 5 star - but I think there may have been MSG in the Crab and Mac & Chez. The wait staff was outstanding and the atmosphere was just what I needed after being at Coffeefest all day. Thanks for making Baltimore a place I want to come back to.
Phillips Seafood hosted the Baltimore Business Journal "Bix Mix". It was a nice business gathering event. The Phillips staff were friendly and professional. The food samples (Mini-Crab Cakes & Sliders) were excellent. The bartenders were on point 5-star service. Phillips is one of the marquee restaurants on The Charm'tastic Mile and they did a wonderful job representing their brand and the City of Baltimore. A job well-done by the entire staff. Thank you!
Phillips was really good. Authentic crab cakes and local beer were what we were looking for, and what we found! Service was good, vibe was good. We went for a late lunch during a work trip to Baltimore. I recommend!
This was one of the best dining experiences ever. Reservations are taken. Immediately seated at my reservation time. Took a minute for our server to free up, but he communicated with us immediately. All of our meal was awesome. Server was superb. Nice ambiance as well. A little loud, but that’s to be expected from a full, bustling restaurant. Server was obviously smitten by my lady...but she’s fine 😍
Phillips was good, but not great. There were several things I considered in my review: food, service, seating, and quality.
Food- While the food flavor was great, it was a bit overpriced. I enjoy fine dining as much as the next and am not one to balk at cost, but the portion sizes were pretty small for the prize. This was something my waitress openly spoke to when helping us decide what to eat.
Service- Our waitress was very friendly and very helpful when we asked her questions not only about the food, but also about the surrounding area of the inner harbor.
Seats- Our seat was the very back booth by the kitchen, and one waitress chose to fully kick the doors open every time she entered the kitchen (which was frequently throughout our meal). This was frustrating and disruptive to our conversation which came off as a bit disrespectful. That aside, our seat kept us cut off from the atmosphere of the restaurant, and made it a bit hard for our (great) waitress to check back on us which left a bit of a wait between refills, etc. Should you come to Phillips, avoid this table if at all possible.
Quality- Overall, Phillips was "good". It didn't go about and beyond, the menu isn't extensive, but the food and service was good. Again, the prices were a bit high for what you get in return, but happy hour and specials might make the price more worth it. I definitely recommend a reservation, and sharing a bunch of appetizers may be a good way to get more bang for your buck while trying a bigger selection of food.
I'm from NYC and every time I come to Baltimore I must go to Phillips for the clam bake. Best around.
I don't really like Phillips Seafood but its a popular chain. This location seems extremely popular. A couple of times I went here it was booked out. The servers are all really friendly and nice. However, the food is a bit salty for me. I don't like the prices. I think the prices are not justified by the food. As a true foodie, I found the crab cakes that are supposed to be famous a bit underwhelming. I find this to be a bit pricey for what you get and not that fancy.
Nice location and plenty of parking around. Food was excellent and staff was very attentive. Priced as expected with good portions.
My husband and I visited this restaurant for date night while in Baltimore. It was wonderful. I have a smaller appetite these days and they gave him the steak he ordered and added a 7-ounce lobster for $20 . It was perfect for me. Our waiter, Jeremy was top-notch. The general manager comes by and visits with you to make sure everything is okay. I will definitely visit this place when in Baltimore again.
Service was slow. Food was bad. Greatly overpriced for quality. I look for good food, regardless of the price. Your restaurant was very lacking. The clams were greasy, the fries were soft. The crabcake was soft. The soup was cold. Huge disappointment.
It was great! The food was great. The service staff was very attentive and answered all of our questions.
Reservations recommended, even hours before: walk-ins had a long wait. Good was excellent, but the menu is limited. Delivery of drinks was slow, but service was very good otherwise.
Ordered drinks and appetizers, after 30 minutes mentioned to waitress about the appetizers, she said it would be in a minute, no appetizers. Meal arrived, still no appetizers, mentioned to the server and he had no idea.
Finally the waitress came over, apologized and had them brought to us after we were half way done our meal.
Waitress then blamed it on the kitchen staff and said her manager would be over. no manager appeared. Surprise!!
No Phillips for us again. McCormick $ Schmidt will get our business
Decent experience. Food was relatively good. A bit noisy, bit to be expected given its location and reputation.
Long wait times for food, drinks and drink refills even though the restaurant wasn't busy with lots of open tables. I asked for lime wedges with each drink and the waitress forgot both times. Had to go get them myself. Food was good, however, salad preparation is unusual. Instead of mixing ingredients together everything is chopped up and severed in separate piles on the plate. You then have to assemble your own salad. This was my entree so it was a large salad with grilled chicken. Never seen it done this way before and I've eaten lots of salads. Honesty it's annoying to try and mix your salad together on a dinner plate. In my opinion the salad should be mixed together before serving.
