Everything was phenomenal from the food to the service to the atmosphere I couldn’t have a better meal in restaurant week and it was our last meal of the week good way to end the week
The food was very good, though I found my entree (chicken the chocolate cake was what every chocolate cake should be -- dark and rich. We had a lovely ocean view and very attentive, charming server.
We went for restaurant week. We normally go to a steak house but wanted to try out seafood. The stuffed shrimp were small and only got 3 of them. The crab stuffing was ok. Not as good as the crab cakes that Phillips is known for. I'm going to stick to my steak house for restaurant week. I never have been disappointed in a meal there.
Took advantage of Atlantic City Restaurant Week special dinner menu
Love the open atmosphere. Beautiful decor and spacious dining area. Our waitress heather was such a pleasure and make our dining experience that much more memorable. We dined during AC restaurant week so we definitely got our $$ worth. Phillips is truly worth every cent though and ive never been disappointed with their menu or service. Looking forward to going back soon.
I made reservations to have dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday and this was noted in my reservations. We arrived a few minutes early and was seated by a member of staff and given menus. They disappeared for a few minutes then came back to take our order. We ordered drinks, oysters, and main courses. Drinks came shortly after then they disappeared. During drinks I received a call from someone asking if we were still coming for dinner. I explained that we arrived 30 minutes ago and seated. Food took long to come out and at the end of the day...not even a cupcake and candle to acknowledge his birthday. I had to get folks attention to even get my bill.
This restaurant was nothing special. The crab cake was so small, I actually laughed when the food runner brought it out. The roll was a plain potato roll, the coleslaw was gross. The fries were delicious. The restaurant’s saving grace was their homemade bread pudding.
There are too many other good restaurants in Atlantic City. I will not return.
We visited Phillips for the first time during restaurant week. The menu choices were good and the value was excellent. Our server was not very attentive and made several mistakes throughout the night.
Our Sunday lunch meal was extremely satisfying, likely in part to the timing. There weren’t many guests, so the noise level was ideally low. The carpaccio appetizer was a bit frosty, but the surf and turf was great. Our food server Jamar was also very good and checked with us at the appropriate times. We will definitely eat there in the future.
Dinner was very good. Service was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu.
Very nice setting. Very close to the boardwalk hall, making it convenient to eat at before an event
The food was good. The service was horrible. Our server was Ronnie G. Upon coming up to the table the first thing he asked was where we were from. Seemed innocent enough, so we answered Pennsylvania. Upon hearing this Ronnie unbuttons his dress shirt down to his waist to show us he is wearing a Steelers tshirt, and spouts out that's my motha f'n team. Completely unprofessional. At this point we just started telling him our order. After ordering he was at our table to deliver the first round of drinks and the entree, another employee brought the appetizer and second round our drinks. The food was pretty good. The crab soup and the $120 boil we ordered was delicious. The appetizer was literally 3 crab balls that were not even the size of golf balls for over $15. We had a house speciality cocktail called The Secret Lover that was super delicious. Finally we were done and ready for the check. We asked Ronnie as he walked by socializing with another male waiter about a female if he could get us the check and to go containers. 15 minutes later after his next conversation with a female hostess he finally went and retrieved our check. We then had to ask for to go containers again even though half of the boil was still visibly not eaten. Keep in mind this was a weekday on the off season where this server had a total of 2 tables he was serving while we were there. Very disappointing. Although the food was good, next time I want to spend $100+ per person to eat I will eat at a place with a more professional and respectable staff. This was a special dinner for my birthday and our server made it feel like a cheap diner at best. 😞
My food was all cold and steak wAs overcooked. They redid the steak but the rest if my meal was finished by the time I got it. We also wAited a long time for the food.
I don't know if the kitchen was having an off night, but the experience was awful. When our food was delivered, out of six dishes, one never arrived (literally came out 20+ minutes later), one was undercooked, and two were very cold. After the undercooked dish was addressed, it came back out extremely overcooked and essentially inedible. The waitress and manager both tried to fix the situation, and it was clearly a kitchen problem, but considering how expensive the meal was, it was pretty unacceptable. They took those dishes off the bill, but it was still overall super disappointing.
Once we finally got a waiter, the rest of the meal went well! Management compensated us for the delay.
Typically Phillips is great. I am not sure if it was because it was a busy weekend or if they were understaffed but the service was poor. Food was cold. Wait time was very long.
Very nice restaurant. There is some foot traffic on the outskirts of some tables lining the outer border of the restaurant but it is structured so that it is not intrusive. The food was excellent!
Awesome waitstaff! Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding and worth the price.
This was an impromptu early birthday celebration for my daughter.
The food was delicious and our server was very friendly and helpful
Our Waitress, corrine, was AMAZING ! She was SUPER friendly and recommended very delicious things. She always was not pushy, she gave us time and didn’t make us feel rushed or forced to order prematurely.
Awesome staff, awesome food! Great value, great taste!
Food was exceptional. Really enjoyed my meal. Would definitely return.
We had lunch at Phillips and enjoyed it. The service was great. The lobster roll had shrimp added to it and it was delicious, we always go to lunch at Phillips when we are in Atlantic city. We are never disappointed at Phillips we will be back
Always love the bloody Mary’s. Great
Portions were smaller than expected.
The food was absolutely delicious. Fast service. Watched fireworks from our table.
Scott is an amazing server - personable and attentive. All 3 of us loved our dinners. Being New Years Eve it was a festive occasion.
The food was cold .small portion for the price. Cocktails has no taste . Reputation was bad
Phillips is a very nice place but it’s expensive. Every meal (which varied) each of us had was at least $35. My husband and I regularly go for their surf and turf special for $19.99 which they did not have this time. I’m not sure if they still have this special. The rolls were also hard. Otherwise we had a nice time.
Nothing special expected for $100 a plate lobster tail add on very small shrimp cocktail was really small.
The service wasn’t bad but the food is over priced & under rated wasn’t pleased at all.
Server messed up order. Manager never even acknowledged. There was no offer to make it up.
My headline would be TERRIBLE !
My appetizer of baked clams were so tough I could not chew them.
Main dish was to be a Cajun Mahi Mahi with shell fish.
There was nothing Cajun about it. Just grilled fish. Served at below room temperature almost cold.
The surrounding shell fish were clams and mussels.
A few mussels were OK. Clams were just like the ones in the appetizer, uneatable.
Biggest problem were some clams and mussels were served unopened.
This is very bad they are uneatable.
Won't be going back.
I loved the service! We were seated immediately and our waiter was very attentive. Food was AMAZING and it was the perfect date night vibe. We even received a birthday card signed by the staff for my partners birthday which we were celebrating. Definitely coming back! Thanks Atlantic City Phillips
Ashley was so nice, cool & professional! Enjoyed every bit of our experience!
Had a great time celebrating my birthday on Saturday night! The Waiter was awesome, ambiance was nice although quieter than I would have expected on a saturday night. The Baked shellfish imperial was DELICIOUS and birthday chocolate mousse cake was good as well. A nice time was had by all.
Great food and great service at an affordable price.
The food was disgusting for the price we paid... my lobster was uncooked
