I was really excited to try this place. It had great reviews on all platforms. I was disappointed in both the service and the cuisine.
I ordered the braised short rib burger, which I waited over an hour for. In addition the burger came out over cooked and the bun was burned. This should have never made its way to my table.
The noise level was practically unbearable and I kept getting bumped into my servers and diners.
The short ribs were delicious and the staff was fun and friendly.
Great food and dining experience! Had the wild boar special- awesome! Love the neighborhood feel of the place and the staff that makes you feel special!
Don’t expect a warm response from the host. The venue was very inviting, our server was incredible. The noise level is a little high and with the acoustics of the room you may find yourself yelling at your fiends. The brunch deal is also great any menus item aside from one, with bottomless mimosas or Bloody Mary for $29.99 (2 Hour limit).
The host on the other hand was very standoffish and rude. We had a reservation at noon arrived a few minutes early (party of 3). There was a window seat available and another table across the room, toward the front of the restaurant that was also empty. We asked if we could sit in the window seat and his response was ‘you defiantly can not sit there’, as we walked past the other table we also asked if we could sit there instead of the back of the room he responded with ‘that’s being saved to combine with a two top for a party of 6’. Both tables remained empty for 1:30 min after we arrived. The “6 top” he mentioned had a party of 3 at it as we left after 2 hours and the window seat had 2 guests both were sat 15min prior to us leaving.
So don’t expect to sit where you would like but if your not concerned about that everything else was excellent!
Exceptional experience on every level. Great staff. Extensive wine list. Excellent food choices.
Food was delicious and servers were very attentive. Would definitely go back!
The wild boar was delicious. We had a great Easter Sunday dinner.
Easter Sunday was great.
Rude waiters and nonexistent management
Really great service for brunch! The servers are friendly and keep your unlimited mimosas filled at all times. Food was also tasty!
Always a pleasant experience. Great service and meal.
Enjoyed a weekday bottomless brunch with a friend. Great food, friendly service. Not crowded at lunch time on a Friday of a holiday weekend. Would recommend!
We could not fault the service. Lovely restaurant and very good food. We will definitely be returning.
Amazing food and the manager Richie is beyond personable and knowledgeable. I am looking forward to trying dinner there.
Crab cakes Benedict was one of the best I have had.
Our server Nalberto was excellent. One of the best waiters I have had in a long time.
Food was delicious. We sat at the table for a long time and no one made us feel that we had to
vacate once our meal was over.
Everything was fine, but the host was just very rude and pushy. We were seated late even though we were all on time for our reservation and then he was very forceful about us leaving because he had another reservation.
We were greeted warmly when we entered. We were a little early so sat at the bar. Bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable about his red wines.
Service was very attentive. Our server, Norbert, was amazing. I hadn’t been to Philip Marie in a couple of years. After this experience I’ll certainly be back-sooner than later!!
Great neighborhood restaurant. Friendly service, nice ambiance, tasty food at reasonable prices.
Charming! Great food, service, and value!
great food! The courses were timed perfectly. We enjoyed every course. The steak was cooked to our exact liking. Our waiter was super friendly and professional! The hostess was very nice also!
A great place for quiet conversation and a very good meal.
The wait staff did try. They got the music turned down so at least the five of us could talk. When courses started coming out, there must have been a rush at the door, because suddenly plate after plate was whisked away before we were finished. By the second plate sweep, we covered the unfinished dishes with our arms. That got the staff a bit miffed and overly cordial. The food stunk: who expects limp celery and dried carrots on a Mezze platter with cups of dips scooped from some deli container? Soups were unlikely candidates for the buzz this menu gets on review sites. The sliver-thin fries were good, though! Hard to reimagine a paella in such a bizarre way, but PM managed. Boar - overcooked (although the waiter didn't ask our preference). Fish tacos were acceptable. Citrus salad was limp, citrus was scarce, and flavor anything but lively. Still, the ambience was village-y, the staff tried, and the wines were what we expected. Sorry guys, we won't be back.
If I’m gonna pay bottomless, I want bottomless.
This was a great find. My son and family live in Brooklyn, I live in midtown. We looked on Open Table for a restaurant in between. We found Philip Marie. At one point or another we all commented on how great it is. BTW, the man at the door couldn't be more friendly, they have a children's menu, and the staff is very friendly. Some one there (owner? manager?) sets a good tone.
OMG! Everything was incredible, our server, I shortened it to, Mar, was outstanding! The best service I've had at any brunch outing! The food, delicious, and our mimosas, wonderful! Will , for sure, be going back!
Food was good and generous portions. I’m definitely coming back.
Great night. we started with Calamari and Caesar salad. The Duck, Short Ribs and Black Cod were all superb. I've been there for brunch and it was always terrific. Looking forward to me next dinner at Philip Marie!
Amazing superb service and great food - we were blown away - Phillip Marie does a great job and we had an outstanding meal - thanks to Maitre D Superstar Richie who was so fun and welcoming - he made our night magical and truly joyous
I came here on Friday for a date. When I got there at 7pm it was a little dead so I was hesitant. But around 7:30-8 the restaurant got busier but not too crowded or noisy. The wait staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The Sauvignon blanc was great too. I recommend this place!
We were a party of 6 and sat at a booth in the window - it was just perfect for us. Two kids sitting by the window - thoroughly enjoyed the kids menu and the fired calamari was a huge hit - and the rest of us enjoying our drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts. Really a great night and the waiter was wonderful.
Well prepared food efficient staff
Had the tasting menu with the wine pairings. It was so delicious, and the staff was incredibly hospitable. I enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait to go back !
Fantastic Valentine’s Day dinner! Cosy atmosphere and nice food.
Little disappointed in the special Valentine’s Day menu, appetizer, entree and a dessert for 69.00 pp. It was overpriced by at least 20-25 dollars. Choosing their most expensive app and entree and a dessert from their regular daily dinner menu does not come close to 69.00 which is what they charged on Valentine’s Day per person. For that price it should’ve included a cocktail, glass of wine or champagne and coffee with the dessert.
Amazing food and amazing service. Definitely enjoyed the wide selection of meat and seafood dishes. Will come here again and again!!!
Menu is all over the place,
Great service great food, nice cozy place. Will definitely be back.
Delicious food, romantic ambiance, phenomenal service! Highly recommend!
