About Our Executive Chef & Owner
John P. Greco III is well known throughout the restaurant communitiesof New York, Rome, Milan, Frankfurt and Brazil. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Before opening Philip Marie, he worked at such renowned establishments as San Domenico, NYC & Imola, Italy, Cipriani/Harry's Bar, NYC & Venice, Le Cirque, NYC and Torre di Pisa in New York, where he was executive chef. With classical training and broad experience, Greco's love of American Heartland preparations has inspired his creative take on good ol' American food.

I have gone there before and it is always the wonderful service, the " We are willing to do anything to please you" attitude that has me going back again and again. Of course that food is excellent, but it is the entire "package" that makes this restaurant so special.

Celebrated a birthday and had a very enjoyable dinner. Staff are terrific. Food was fantastic.
This restaurant was great for our occasion, we were not looking for a ‘scene’, so we were very happy to have a quiet meal and be able hear ourselves. Service was great and so was the food. We ordered different menu options and everything was cooked to very good standard. Would recommend it and come again happily for lunch or dinner.

Philip Marie has a menu and drinks list that are excellent. The servers and staff are excellent also. The specials are always varied and very good. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. You should make it a point to eat at this restaurant!
I love this place and have come here many times. This was first time for steak, and while the steak was okay, their other food choices are always interesting, and use different tastes and spices. So I highly recommend the restaurant, but go for something more exciting than a simple piece of steak!
And they have a wonderful wine cellar! Wine pairings are always delicious.

I found Philip Marie through a general Google search, trying to find a place offering 'bottomless' brunch in the West Village shortly before noon on a Sunday. Making a reservation was easy, and the restaurant actually had more space than I would've thought given the timing and the quality. The bottomless drink offering was very reasonably priced, and it was awesome that they offered a variety of drinks to get/switch between. My group got the mimosa's, sangria, and bloody mary's - all were very tasty, and each glass very generous. Sometimes at bottomless drink places, you really have to fight with the staff to get a refill, but the service at Philip Marie was top-notch. Refills for both our hard drinks and water were plentiful, and by the end of our brunch, I had to start declining refills (which is a very good thing)! In fact, they even kept refilling our drinks even after we'd paid and tipped, which I think speaks to the quality of service of the staff. The food was also very tasty; the bottomless drink entry comes with any entree on the menu, and as far as I could tell with my group, everyone cleaned their plates and left full. Next time I'm in town, I will definitely be going to Philip Marie again!

We each ordered the salmon and it was outstanding! It came with the most delicious red quinoa and fresh asparagus. We will definitely be back!!! Our servers were also pleasant, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Our dinner at Philip Marie overall was 5 star!!

Staff all very friendly, but very disorganized
I requested 2 drinks at the bar, when I went to pay, the gratuity was automatically added. Not a fan of that, give me the option, don’t force the issue. The food was rushed out and it wasn’t appetizing. Very disappointed. I understand it was busy and your trying to move customers in and out, but the experience did not feel good. Sad because I dine there consistently. I’ll be taking a break for that restaurant.
Excellent food. It was very crowded, so noise level was intense and difficult to hear the others in the party (table of 6).......would have liked a bigger glass for the iced tea...it was a bit small and no refill was offered.
We made a large group reservation for 2:00 and had even called and confirmed it two days beforehand. Despite this, we were not seated until over an hour after our scheduled time and were given no type of apology from a manager or any type of compensation to our bill or food.
Meat was very fatty, couldn’t finish eating it. Appetizers were excellent, very tasty. Service was amazing. The young gentleman was very enjoyable, attentive. Great personality (I think he was new)
This was my second visit to Philip Marie. Both times were outstanding! I have already recommended it to a friend.
I love coming to Philip Marie. Service is always great and the food is excellent. You can't beat the location either. You can enjoy people watching outside or relax for a quieter ambience indoors.
We went for the tasting menu and were not disappointed. Noberto, our server, was attentive, helpful and polite. I've been to PM many times now & except for the noise level when it's really crowded, (like Sunday brunch) I've always enjoyed it.

Delicious food, kind and courteous service and energetic atmosphere.
Loved the crostini appetizers served: one with wild mushrooms and melted cheese and the other with smoked salmon and a corn mix.
The steak for two was flavorful and cooked to perfection accompanied by an excellent glass of red wine.
Will be back for sure :)

Our server at brunch was superb. The food was good, timely, and reasonably priced. It’s a great little brunch spot.
Saturday night, Service quite rude and pushy. Kent spilling our drinks &water. Assumed we were leaving a 50% tip which is preposterous. Food was ok. Manager came to apologise when he sensed we werent happy.
Service was pleasant, but a bit on the slower side. Drink orders took extremely long, and yet the restaurant was hardly filled to capacity. Food was okay and a bit bland, nothing outstanding. I had their popular chicken pot pie my friend had the “paella”, both of which needed several generous shakes of salt and pepper. The beet salad with goat cheese was lacking goat cheese. The two mini dollops of goat cheese barely equaled a half teaspoon. I don’t think that it should be called “beet and goat cheese salad” if the goat cheese is going to be used as merely a garnish.

We had a nice steak dinner. The second glass of wine we ordered was horrible, we had to send it back. Otherwise a very nice time.
My go-to spot for brunch with friends! I love their bottomless w/ entree deal, vs. other places where you have to pay for bottomless + whatever your entree ends up being. They are very generous with the refills, and even let you switch once between Mimosas and Bloodys if you can't decide. Not to mention their food is just incredible. I got the Bourbon Eggs Benedict last time which was amazing.
I wish I could recall the name of our server he was SO NICE and went above and beyond!!

Wonderful experience! We had the most energetic and fun waiter ever; we could tell he loved what he was doing and was very pleasant and helpful throughout our dinner.
The food was absolutely delicious from the appetizers to the main course. We loved the tasty crostini variety and the green salad too. Our steak came grilled to perfection as we had asked, flavorful and absolutely sizzling hot.
We will be back for more :)
A couple of Big Tables contributed to a high but tolerable noise level. The food was excellent. Service was fine. Good beer and wine list.
LOVE Phillip Marie. It’s our favorite date spot. Was just a little noisy and busy this one time. Still will for sure be back. The best mimosas around and has the BEST food.
