We went to Philip Marie to celebrate a birthday. Food was fabulous! Started w Roasted Oysters w goat cheese and spinach, then on to the Tuesday special Clambake. More food than I could finish. Highly recommend this treasure of a restaurant!

2nd time coming here... It was a Sunday for brunch. Quality of service was definitely sub-par; from being seated, to being waited on. We both ordered a martini, not good. Food was dry and lacking. Save your time and money and choose any one of the other choices in the area.

Philip Marie is one of my favorite places to take family and friends for a casual yet satisfying meal. We went for brunch on this trip to meet up with friends we haven’t seen in a while. There was quite an extensive brunch menu and the addition of bottomless mimosas/bloody marys was a bonus. The meal arrived in a timely fashion and our waiter kept our drinks filled without needing to ask. Attentive, friendly staff, delicious drinks and food, and a comfortable spot right in the Village. What more can you ask for?

Read good reviews so tried it for first time - not disappointed. 6 of us on a 7:30 reserv but arrived early and seated quickly w/no fuss. Good wine list w/reasonable options. Our party worked the menu and everything was excellent from short ribs to fish to chicken pot pie (really good). Will be back, very efficient service and very nice front door folks.

Loud, and more importantly they did not use open table. Having reservations written on paper when people book online it’s not very efficient.

Great brunch special! I got the Cajun chicken sandwich while my friend got the French toast with grilled cheese. We both did the 1.5 hour mimosa special and had a great time.

We had a sirloin steak, tasted very good and was tender. Paired with a good californian Cabernet Sauvignon..... Norberto and Richie also did a good job to make us feel «at home».
This night in november, - a nice and quiet place despite lots of guests in the restaurant.

Long standing neighborhood eatery that we hadn't been to in ages. Brunch for 5, nice menu with many options. Everyone enjoyed the food. Super welcoming and friendly service. Great environment to hear ourselves and enjoy. Will be going back again soon. Glad it is sticking around with all the crazy changes around the city.

Always a hit, we recently took several friends to Philip Marie for bottomless brunch. Our glasses were kept delightfully full, and our food was prepared with care, as always.

I didn’t give 1 star as I can’t say I hated it as I didn’t get to sample the restaurant. I am extremely disappointed I booked a table for a special thanksgiving dinner for myself and my daughter on our last night in NYC. We arrived 5 minutes early for our reservation to be told it was going to be a 45 minute wait. Lots of people in the same position left standing about, we ended up leaving very hungry. We paid for a taxi there and had to get one back, out of pocket into the bargain. It’s a shame we have loved NYC and this put a bit of a dampener on it. The food I could see everyone eating did look nice, just a pity I didn’t get to taste it.

Thanksgiving Reservierung für 20:15 hat gepasst
Essen prinzipiell lecker aber kalt
Service katastrophal
Wein warm, einziger Tisch ohne Brot
Tisch eine Frechheit also genau beim Eingang neben den wartenden Gästen („one of the Most romantic Restaurants in nyc“?????????)
Noch vor dem beenden des Desserts ungefragt Rechnung hingeschmissen bekommen obwohl außerdem Weinflasche noch halb voll war - bekamen den Wein ja auch erst kurz vor dem Hauptgang
Totale Katastrophe
Nie wieder - absolute Frechheit

Thanksgiving was an utter failure on the part of Phillip Marie. We arrived at 8:10 for our 8:15 reservation. After struggling among the crowd to get to the desk, we were informed the wait would be at least 45 minutes. Apparently, the hostess and maitre d were seating guests in the order they arrived, not by their reservation time. No surprise, then, that the woman in front of us with an 8:45 reservation was seated ahead of us and our 8:15 reservation. Finally, we were seated. There was so little space between our table and the next that they might as well have been eating with us. Upon ordering we were informed that they had run out of a dessert that was part of their pre fix menu; when we got to dessert, they were out of even more choices. At no time did our waiter check on us while we were eating, and at no time did anyone apologize for this fiasco. I heard the owner introduce himself to other patrons, so he was present. He should have been embarrassed. I would never patronize that restaurant again.

I had booked this place 2 months in advance as it was thanks giving, we arrived 5 mins before our booking, but we had to wait just over an hour for our table. This place was over booked, i think the price didn't reflect the food, it was below average. We where still eating our dessert and they gave us our goodie bag as they where desperate for our table as the queue was still out the door. Very disappointing thanks giving meal.

We made reservation for Thanksgiving dinner well in advance. Unfortunately the reserarant was very overbooked or something, not sure what happened because it was very busy and we had a long wait. not wanting to look around for an alternative at the last minute we decided to wait it out. We were offered a free cocktail by the owner for our inconvenience, which was really nice...It was loud and lively and kinda fun... MOST people just accepted the situation. I think we waited around 45 minutes but once we ate it was worth it. Dinner was very good and we were given a full platter for the next day. All said ... we had had a great meal!

We are from Texas and came into town for Thanksgiving. Closest thanksgiving southern meal we could find and they did not disappoint. It was delish! We are still talking about it. The owner is so incredibly nice and personable! The wait was very worth it.

My family and I were in town for the holiday. We ate here for Thanksgiving Dinner. It was prixe fixe. Our meal included appetizer, main course with all the Thanksgiving trimmings, and dessert for less than $50 a person. The portions were generous not to mention very flavorful. Water glasses were never allowed to get less than half full. Our original reservation was for five, but due to a schedule conflict, we only had four. There was no problem when we showed up with one less person. The host and all the staff were extremely friendly. We really appreciate them working on a holiday so we could have a family dinner. We hope to have the opportunity to visit again when in town.

Way beyond expectation!

For Thanksgiving dinner we originally had reservations at one of our favorite pricey restaurants for $105/person.

Then we had second thoughts about spending that much, so we searched on Opentable to find a highly rated but less expensive alternative. Phillip Marie had a 96% rating and was less than half the price with an excellent menu so we changed our reservation at the last minute.

We arrived at 1:15 PM to a friendly, warm and comfortable restaurant and had the feeling we were going to have a really good time. The Maitre 'D, Richie, was wonderfully friendly and gave us our choice of tables. The atmosphere was lively, but it was easy to have a conversation.

The food was superb and plentiful. Our waiter, Ricardo, was perfect in his attentiveness and helpfulness.

At the end of the meal, I had to take out a large amount of leftovers. But then it got even better- we were presented with a very large bag with extra full plates of almost everything we had eaten (not the appetizer or dessert).
We couldn't believe the sheer generosity of this! Then we had multiple meals at home with these delicious dishes.

We wil be back.

Such a great place!!

We didn't have to deal with the noise level typically at a great bar because they moved our party downstairs to a private dining room. WONDERFUL service, great food, lovely venue. I would go here again in a flash!

This was one of the worst brunches I've had in ages. The crab cakes we mushy mess with crab 'flavor', the bacon side was cold, fat, poorest quality bacon I've ever seen. The scrambled eggs were well cooked though so at least there was that. This is one step down from a diner. And I expected so much more from a french place in the west village. Next!

Known for having the most romantic table in the city, you don't have to lock yourself in the wine cellar to enjoy a good meal at a fair price. I've never had a bad meal here and enjoy taking new people to this one of a kind restaurant in the West Village. Known for some of the game foods they prepare, my favorite night to come is Sunday for the BBQ dinner. It's good food at a reasonable price and a lovely setting.
