great food! The courses were timed perfectly. We enjoyed every course. The steak was cooked to our exact liking. Our waiter was super friendly and professional! The hostess was very nice also!
A great place for quiet conversation and a very good meal.
The wait staff did try. They got the music turned down so at least the five of us could talk. When courses started coming out, there must have been a rush at the door, because suddenly plate after plate was whisked away before we were finished. By the second plate sweep, we covered the unfinished dishes with our arms. That got the staff a bit miffed and overly cordial. The food stunk: who expects limp celery and dried carrots on a Mezze platter with cups of dips scooped from some deli container? Soups were unlikely candidates for the buzz this menu gets on review sites. The sliver-thin fries were good, though! Hard to reimagine a paella in such a bizarre way, but PM managed. Boar - overcooked (although the waiter didn't ask our preference). Fish tacos were acceptable. Citrus salad was limp, citrus was scarce, and flavor anything but lively. Still, the ambience was village-y, the staff tried, and the wines were what we expected. Sorry guys, we won't be back.
If I’m gonna pay bottomless, I want bottomless.
This was a great find. My son and family live in Brooklyn, I live in midtown. We looked on Open Table for a restaurant in between. We found Philip Marie. At one point or another we all commented on how great it is. BTW, the man at the door couldn't be more friendly, they have a children's menu, and the staff is very friendly. Some one there (owner? manager?) sets a good tone.
OMG! Everything was incredible, our server, I shortened it to, Mar, was outstanding! The best service I've had at any brunch outing! The food, delicious, and our mimosas, wonderful! Will , for sure, be going back!
Food was good and generous portions. I’m definitely coming back.
Great night. we started with Calamari and Caesar salad. The Duck, Short Ribs and Black Cod were all superb. I've been there for brunch and it was always terrific. Looking forward to me next dinner at Philip Marie!
Amazing superb service and great food - we were blown away - Phillip Marie does a great job and we had an outstanding meal - thanks to Maitre D Superstar Richie who was so fun and welcoming - he made our night magical and truly joyous
I came here on Friday for a date. When I got there at 7pm it was a little dead so I was hesitant. But around 7:30-8 the restaurant got busier but not too crowded or noisy. The wait staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The Sauvignon blanc was great too. I recommend this place!
We were a party of 6 and sat at a booth in the window - it was just perfect for us. Two kids sitting by the window - thoroughly enjoyed the kids menu and the fired calamari was a huge hit - and the rest of us enjoying our drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts. Really a great night and the waiter was wonderful.
Well prepared food efficient staff
Had the tasting menu with the wine pairings. It was so delicious, and the staff was incredibly hospitable. I enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait to go back !
Fantastic Valentine’s Day dinner! Cosy atmosphere and nice food.
Little disappointed in the special Valentine’s Day menu, appetizer, entree and a dessert for 69.00 pp. It was overpriced by at least 20-25 dollars. Choosing their most expensive app and entree and a dessert from their regular daily dinner menu does not come close to 69.00 which is what they charged on Valentine’s Day per person. For that price it should’ve included a cocktail, glass of wine or champagne and coffee with the dessert.
Amazing food and amazing service. Definitely enjoyed the wide selection of meat and seafood dishes. Will come here again and again!!!
Menu is all over the place,
Great service great food, nice cozy place. Will definitely be back.
Delicious food, romantic ambiance, phenomenal service! Highly recommend!
We ended up having one extra person in our party and they put us in the wine room which was perfect! We loved it!
Food and service were excellent. The variation in an Old Fashion was great. Recommended.
our servers are always amazing at Philip Marie’s! we did have to wait for 30 minutes for our reservation to open up because we were 5 minutes late for our time. I also wish that they had a few more options for vegetarians/vegans as it’s a very limited menu. but those are my only criticisms for their great brunch offerings!
30 bucks for all you can drink brunch is a great value and they do not skimp on their pours! We loved the food and the mimosas. Great location and a fun, lively atmosphere. Would definitely go back or recommend.
Very very okay brunch with a very very boring menu. I was shocked that restaurants so.... Mediocre still exist in the West village.
Slightly rude host (but who cares), very boring menu, very cheap looking interior, very okay omelette. Very underwhelmed but it was pretty cheap.
Always a wonderful time!
We were seated straight away. Great selection of food and drink. Waiter was attentive but did not rush us at all. Food was excellent. Will go again.
Wine pairing last Thursday was excellent. The food was delicious and very creative and the server was very knowledgeable and professional. I have not dined at this restaurant in a few years but the food and service was excellent and will return frequently as I live in the neighborhood.
Came here for bottomless brunch and had such a great time! I came with a party of 7 and we were seated right away. The ambience is casual but not too casual and is fancy enough to celebrate your birthday (which is what I did). The food was ok, nothing that stood out, but the service was outstanding! Our server was very accommodating and kept the drinks flowing. Overall, had a very pleasant experience and will be back for sure!
Great food, atmosphere, and service.
Great dinner, prefix was a great price for the quality!
Really delicious food for New Year's Eve. Really good service and nice decoration. One of the best meals I've eaten in restaurants. I can't tell anything about the normal everydays menus but the one on New Year's Eve was really really good. We would come back.
Exceptional service and the food was great. All we could have hoped for.
went for my sons birthday with family and friends
food was great, good value, service very accommodating, great music playlist, friendly bartender, and cozy ambiance. Would highly recommend.
My adult children, my husband, and I had Christmas Eve dinner at Philip Marie. We usually go to another restaurant in the same area, but we wanted a change this year. The atmosphere was festive, the service was attentive (but not overwhelming), the food was great, the prices weren't exorbitant, and overall we had a lovely time.
The staff have been exceptionally gracious to me, and I will not forget their kindness. The food is always superb.
The host was a bit rude, also the time of the brunch is supposed to be 75 minutes, however they cut us about 15 minutes short on our time. Food was delicious, but I don’t think I’ll return again due to the service
We had to wait for a table, even though we had a reservation.
We went to Philip Marie to celebrate a birthday. Food was fabulous! Started w Roasted Oysters w goat cheese and spinach, then on to the Tuesday special Clambake. More food than I could finish. Highly recommend this treasure of a restaurant!
