P.F. Market Ratings and Reviews
You simply cannot get fresher fish from an inland restaurant. This place offers a great selection elegantly prepared in the Mediterranean way. The owner and family is dedicated to consistently great food, thus the constant stream of customers. We regulars know that the decor is secondary to the quality of the food. I only wish we didn’t have to drive 40 mins to get there, but as should be obvious it’s worth it!
Every minor detail seems to be organize and cared for. My husband and I went for our anniversary, and I noted that on the menu. "Anniversary" was not discussed until our dessert was brought out and it was written on our plates and our waitress said "happy anniversary, enjoy!" It was such a romantic setting and every bite of the food was perfection. I can't wait to go back for more!
Delicious meal. Best calamari we’ve ever eaten. I ordered a broiled seafood sampler. Delicious filet, scallops, and shrimp with rice and vegetables. Husband had shrimp scampi- plentiful and delicious as well. We are upstairs- tables are close together and it is a bit loud. BYOB but they can sell you a bottle of wine if you forget. Make a reservation and go. Delicious.
PF Market is always reliable and enjoyable. The ambiance is not the best, but if you want a casual fish market with great food, this is the place. Great seafood choices from octopus to branzino. Also, a number of pasta seafood dishes. The branzino is cooked whole fish and served that way unless you specify filleted. The fish is tender and perfectly cooked. Very nicely prepared. They will prepare any of their fish simply grilled if that is your preference. This is a BYO but serves some New Jersey wines.
This was our second visit in the last month. Perhaps it was an off night, but it was disappointing.
The grilled octopus appetizer was very good. However, the grilled haddock entree was bland and the accompanying grilled vegetables were limp. The server was nowhere to be found after we placed our order and we had to flag down the owner to ask for more water & bread. Very pricey.
We have been to this restaurant before and it is local so it was convenient for a weeknite dinner.
The food is ok. I ordered bronzino and had it filleted after it was cooked and it still had a few bones. I did not care for the vegetables they served with it. The apple pie was not very good.
Small room on main level - had excellent waiter - shared salad and halibut with friend and they divided everything for us so it looked like we each had a single meal which shows that portions were big enough to do so. Halibut was excellent in a light sauce.
We had a family get together and came to PF Market for a Saturday lunch. We ended up showing up early but it was not a problem, our table was comfortable and the food was really great. Very fresh, clean seafood perfectly prepared with attentive but not intrusive service. Possibly the best crab cake I've ever had - it was nearly all crab! Sweet and fresh, perfectly seasoned. Other items we had were the very generous lobster roll - rolls! grilled salmon, the Po boy sandwich and the seafood salad. It was all great and everyone went home happy.
We have eaten at PF Market many, many times. Although the food is consistent the service has not been good the last two times we ate there.
We sat upstairs at our request. Our waitress had difficulty answering questions. She was not sure about preparation of several dishes. When asked about the Bronzino prep she was unsure. Finally I asked if it could be prepared in scampi sauce to which she answered ," I guess so."
My husband asked for an iced tea. He never got it. Two people got the seafood Fra Diablo over pasta. They said they wanted it spicy ,the way it comes. She was confused . After it was delivered it was not spicy. We asked for red pepper flakes. After a few minutes when it didn't come, we asked someone else.
Most likely we will return and give them one more chance.
We havent been back in over a year because last time we went it was a bad bad night for us there. Im glad we decided to give it a shot because I always loved this spot. Tonight we went and they definitely reedeemed themselves and made a customer of me again. Food was fantastic and service was very good. All is good and Ill reiterate, we will return.
Food was cooked perfectly! Stuffed shrimp was not at all rubbery and stuffing was more crabmeat than breading. Seabass was also tender and flaky without being at all dry. Veggies that accompanied the dishes were delist. Was seated upstairs which seemed to have the nicer ambiance. Service was for the most part attentive but at times had to wait as server was attending to large parties. Bread was the only non-impressive part of the meal. Note: they are able to serve wine from one particular NJ winery they have partnered with, buy BYOB is also welcome.
Fresh, fresh, fresh deliciously prepared seafood! Awesome selection of appetizers & raw bar. Homemade Spaghetti with mussels, shrimp & chorizo in spicy tomato broth was outstanding. Scallops, prawns & asparagus risotto was delicious. Tartufo for dessert did not disappoint either!
