Petty Cash Taqueria
Walter Manzke's Petty Cash is a semi-authentic taqueria with myriad talent drawn from East LA, Baja and beyond. Petty Cash's menu features re-conceptualized street food classics driven by the best local, seasonal ingredients, rooted in multi-generational tradition and technique.
Featuring urban elements such as hand-painted murals by local street artist RETNA and picnic style tables and bench seating which lend to a relaxed and playful communal dining experience. The street art meets street food vibe channels the spirit of Tijuana circa 1986 meets modern day LA. The equally spirited cocktail program features unique craft cocktails on draft and eclectic Mexican spirits.
Petty Cash was absolutely amazing!! We will be back good and service was amazing.
Delish as always!! Love that those rainbow cauliflower nachos are back!!!
Please bring back The Brixton. Please. Please. Please.
I had a great experience at petty cash.
Fantastic place just please turn down the music a little. It’s difficult to have a conversation.
Petty Cash is PERFECT. All of the food is absolutely delicious - those nachos, those tacos, those bunuelos!!! The drinks - the margs are amazing. The service? So attentive and friendly and thoughtful.
My husband and two grown children went for dinner a few nights back, for my daughter’s birthday — her choice. Our server Matthew was so dear and funny and charming and efficient. He helped make our night a perfectly memorable one.
We’ll be back.
As always, Petty Cash has exceptional service! Margaritas are outstanding and food is DELICIOUS! Love coming here to have their “special” margarita, worth the extra pennies. Guacamole is tasty with warm home made chips. Best taco is the AL PASTOR and the pork belly carnitas.
The tacos were scrumptious. I enjoyed two tacos de lengua, (tongue), and one with shrimp. The lengua was cooked and diced perfectly. Oh and the tortilla chips were delicious and addicting. I could certainly tell they take pride in cooking quality food for their customers. I drank the Oaxacan Old Fashion, which I loved. Loved the smoky flavor of the mezcal and the hint of orange bitters. I can’t wait to return and this time bring a larger group.
Was good but pricey. Fun atmosphere.
Still my favorite restaurant in LA. Best margs, octopus taco, cauliflower nachos. Amazing service.
Great food! Love that they have homemade tortillas made from organic blue corn masa. Love that they use organic chicken. But very loud, what a racket! Go on the early side.
The wait staff seemed annoyed and not friendly. I do think the menu is original. Interesting spot to bring my production crew for a simple meet-up that is casual.
Great great great
We go for the cauliflower nachos! Such a hit with everyone we bring there.
We've been here several times and it never disappoints. Food is delicious, service is timely and great drinks. We went after a matinee at the Pantages (need to drive from there) so it wasn't crowded or noisy. We've been there for dinner several times and always enjoyed although definitely more crowded. I would recommend.
Great food! Amazing flavors and textures.
Great food and great service. Very interesting menu options and delicious interesting flavors!
Really unique tacos and combinations you would dream to put together but they were delicious.
NYE, great way to start the new year
As usual great food, and really great Sevice.
Awesome food, great menu but alcohol very over-priced. Food reasonable though!
Great place great food. Fun atmosphere service was amazing. Thank you to our server a black blonde mail with a septum! Didn’t catch his name but he was excellent.
Food portion was extremely small for the price. Tacos are $7-$8 but are the size of street tacos. I would expect the tacos to be worth it by the flavor, but the tacos (at least the Baja fish and octopus) weren’t flavorful or unique enough to make it worth it. Additionally, the chips are fried in peanut oil but unless you look at the very bottom of the menu, you wouldn’t know. We had several people allergic to peanuts.
My friends enjoyed the beer!!!
Will come back more often!!! Have brought in 4 friends over, they too said they’ll come back! Crowd is cool!!!
Will order more rainbow cauliflower nachos, eat it while it’s crispy crunchy😁😁😁chorizo potato nachos😁al pastor😁 shrimp tacos😄Baja fish tacos of course 😄my friends like lengua tacos and iced oysters😅pork belly carnitas tacos 😄
Matt is great!!!😘
$8 tacos is crazy! im mexican so i am use to eating delicious cheap mexican
I love petty cash! I take my kids there early every Friday and the staff could NOt be nicer or more accommodating. Feel like home there! This time I wanna shooting a happy hour for a group of women and like always, staff is so friendly, service so great and love the food.
Only comment- bring back the old Brussels sprouts please! The crispy ones!
Their menu has changed - and really limited to tacos and quesadillas. I miss the other dishes, guacamole, etc. Furthermore the tacos are way overpriced. I think it’s best to come during happy hour when they are discounted drinks and plates
Cauliflower nachos are the BEST dish. We had a great time with a party over 10 where we had a pre-fixe menu.
Great taco and beverage selection. We really enjoyed the cauliflower nachos, a tasty surprise. Individual tacos seemed a bit pricey.
Took my guy here for his 34th birthday dinner with some of our friends. Great service, delicious food, cute bartenders. Overall, we had a great time here.
We loved it and recommended to several people
Loved the happy hour
The food is excellent the staff are friendly and helpful
Very nice to meet up after work for a quick bite and drink. Great atmosphere and great service. Will be back soon!
My friend and I shared many delicious dishes. It was her first time at Petty Cash and my second. Our server was great and my margarita hit the spot. We’ll definitely be back!
Service was on point!
$6-8 tacos. If you're in the mood to spend some cash they're probably worth it but you can get similar quality for much less other places in the city.
Petty Cash is worth the hype. I've been hearing about this place since I moved to LA a couple months ago and finally went on Thursday for dinner. It didn't disappoint! Service was fantastic. Our server, Miranda, was incredibly kind, knowledgable and went above and beyond any server I've had in a long time. If you get a table with her as your server, you're golden! Food was outstanding. I heard this place was good, but 'good' doesn't do it justice. The pork quesadilla was amazing and the tacos were SO. DELICIOUS. Sure, prices are a bit high for a taco but honestly, it's so worth it. I'd go back any time and drop a few more dollars for food I know will be satisfying. Highly highly recommend.
Hated the dim lights. Wish the corn wasn’t seasonal. It was amazing. But the food overall is great!!!!!
i liked the food and was tasty. the only thing is dint like was it was too noisy .
Loved the atmosphere, drinks, simple menu & flavorful food
