We went to Petterinos last night and had a terrible dining experience. We say at a high top table in the bar. We sat there for fifteen minutes and nobody came to our table. It wasn’t til after I went to the host stand and complained that they sent a bar back to take our order. He rarely came by to check on us. It was the worst dinner I have ever had there, or any LEYE restaurant.

As always....superb all the way around. I also like how management walks around asking if all is ok. A special shout out to the hostess who always seats me promptly and calls me by name; she’s the best! Longtime patron and will continue.

The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Although the room was full of conversation we felt we were able to hear each other and enjoy our lunch with business. If fact we came back after our first meeting outside to have drinks later.

Tried the special of the day (instead of going with the usual salad) and it was fantastic! Had a very picky eater in our group & she loved it as well.
They brought a couple of slices of cake/pie to celebrate a birthday! With candles!

Service was excellent! Food was satisfying. Water glass was never empty. Just steps from our hotel Cambria in the theater district.

A very lively established CHICAGO restaurant that allows one to step back in time and enjoy the dining experience of yesteryear and the who's who of Chicago by admiring the caricatures on the walls. It offers some old favorites along with new and interesting plating. Ideal and most convenient spot for those who attend the theater. The waiters understand time constraints and are truly professional and well trained. Enjoy the pre-fixe menu and the large selection of beverage offerings.

Service was slow, which got frustrating as the evening went on. Food was good — just good. Desserts were very good. For the money, I’m not sure I’d return.

We were attending the theater and had dinner before our show. It was very good, I had the Prix Fixe menu (which is a very good variety and large portions) and my boyfriend ordered steak from the regular menu. Everything was delicious, we love the ambience & will definitely return!

Seemed to be a popular place for pre-theater dinner. Asked for plates to be boxed up due to the large portions, but they accidentally threw them out. We had to wait for them to remake new half orders of our entrees again.

Husband and I went with friends who had been there before. One friend recommended the Chicken Pot Pie, which she referred to as "semi-deconstructed with puff pastry", which was exactly what it was, and soooooo good!! Husband had a sausage and rigatoni dish that was also delicious. Great wine selection also. The Prix Fixe menu was very reasonably priced and the portions were regular to large (esp. peppermint ice cream for dessert!!) Service was great and friendly, she asked up front if we were going to the play next door (which we were) so it was nice to know she was on top of that. Overall, excellent experience!!

Took my daughter for lunch and the theater. Our server was exceptional! Terrific at being there when needed and taking care of us but not interupting our conversation. Was a wonderful day downtown. Used their valet parking. A wonderful gentleman took care if parking our car and told me exactly where it was being parked, and actually brought the keys inside to our table. I highly recommend Petterino's for any occassion

Pwttirinos is a good dining choice in general, but especially if you are going to one of the very nearby theaters, as I was. The white fish was excellent.

Service was excellent, staff very attentive and professional. I chose the rainbow trout, which was very delicious. My friend and I visit Petterino’s often before our Goodman subscription evenings. We both highly recommend this unique, delightful dining spot located at the center of Chicago’s vibrant theatre district downtown.

Petterino's is usually so-so, but next door to the Goodman Theatre. This time, however, the food was outstanding and we hope it signals a permanent improvement, because it's in the perfect location, and it has a very good menu.

Service was fair, which matches the staff having to deal with the crazy rush of pre-Goodman eaters, followed by a super slowdown.

Petterino's is our go-to place for dinner and discussion after a Goodman matinee. Convenient to the theater, you don't even have to go outside. The super club decor and menu are very nice. You can always find something you like on the menu. Cocktail and wine list are good too.

SUPER SERVICE...made to feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door. Fun to sit at bar while waiting for table. Great wine options...dinner was YUMMY! Every dish was fresh, tasty, perfectly seasoned. Plenty of veggie options, chef is very accommodating.

Relaxing evening...even though they were crowded, we never felt rushed. Plenty of time to linger over dessert and coffee!

we were there for a pre-show brunch. We were told the kitchen is slow on the brunch menu. We had soup and salad instead, which was very mediocre.

Have never been disappointed at Petterino's. This was our 1st brunch experience. Their rendition of crab cakes benedict was outstanding. The choose your own ingredient omelette was also quite good. They didn't forget that it was the birthday of one of our small group and presented her with birthday dessert options. Appreciated the never ending cups of hot chocolate.

I've dined at Peterino's a handful of times and have always enjoyed the experience. It's so wonderfully located in the theatre district -- it's perfect for a pre-theatre meal. This time, though, the vote was split on the food. My companion loved the crusted tilapia and it looked wonderful. I ordered the country pasta dish and it was horribly salty. The waiter took it back without hesitation and told me that the chef agreed with me. I then ordered the second pasta dish on the menu and, although it wasn't heavily over-salted, I didn't care much for this dish either. It was supposed to contain Italian sausage, and it did, in granular amounts -- a pretty pedestrian dish. But I ate if dutifully. Lesson for me: Order something other than pasta next time. There are many very good dishes on the menu. Plus the atmosphere and service are terrific. See how many caricatures on the walls you can identify.
