Petterino's Ratings and Reviews
Cute place but food was not great. Their special cheese ravioli was ok, but obviously was waiting out since it was lukewarm. For $19 not worth it. The setting was nice, server forgot our bread, but that is what you get downtown the weekend before Christmas.
First time at Petterino's. Our reservations were for 7:15pm and I believe we were seated by 7:45pm. We had attended a matinee so we were not in a hurry. The place was packed! We were able to get 2 seats at the bar while we waited and even though it was crazy busy, we were served very quickly. By the time we were seated, half the restaurant had left and what had been a very noisy place became a wonderful place to have normal conversation. Our server, Jose, was fabulous. Very knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and friendly. I ordered from the prix-fixe menu, having the tomato bisque soup, filet medallions and chocolate mousse cake. The soup was outstanding, very creamy but not at all bland. The filet medallions were good. I had ordered them well done and would have liked them to be a little more done, however not so much that I sent them back. They came with mashed potatoes and green beans and both were delicious. The cake, which I shared with my friend, was delicious as well. My friend ordered a special, surf and turf. It was a 6oz lobster tail and 2 filet medallions that also came with a side of mashed potatoes. She stated they were excellent. I would definitely recommend Petterino's and look forward to going back to try some of their Italian dishes.
I’ve been going to Petterino’s for years but the last few times, the quality of the food has gone down. One person at my table said the pasta was “just a cut sbove Olive Garden.” I have ordered the chicken pot pie for many yesrs & was so disappointed this time when the sauce was gummy & made from cornstarch. Sauce use to be a a chicken based broth. Not planning on going back anytime soon.
Not our first time here, but probably one of the best! We were thrilled when we were seated at one of the 6 banquettes along the sides of the walk into the main restaurant seating. Wonderful large U shaped booth! Short ribs are to die for, my vegan sister loved the 5-cheese ravioli, our friend thought her burger one of the best. Our server, Tim C. is attentive, accurate, friendly (even though rushed and dealing with two large parties) and kept an eye on us for drinks, water etc., since we were heading for a matinee. Prices are not cheap, but that's understood going in, and not a surprise. Will go again an again...but word of warning..if you are going to a show, make your reservations for 2 hours in advance and make them at least 3 weeks in advance.
BEWARE! If you eat at this restaurant make sure you wear waterproof clothing! I in no way wish to criticize our waitress who did a very good job. It was when the busboy was clearing our table and poured an entire glass of ice water on my dress and part of my exposed coat that I was sitting on, That the problem occurred. When the incident occurred, the busboy immediately walked away without saying a word. All of the members of my party quickly grabbed their napkins and I began to douse the water. He finally returned about five minutes later and really did not solve the situation at all. I asked if there was a dryer anywhere as it was only about 28° outside at the time and I did not want to go out into the cold with a wet dress. The waitress finally was able to find a blow dryer in the men’s room downstairs in the banquet facility which had an active banquet going on at the time. So they sent me down to that dryer which was to be manned by one of the busboys down there so that no man would come into the bathroom. Moments later as I was drying my dress, a man came to the door and asked if there was another washroom he could use. The busboy told him it was fine that he could go into a stall as I was only using the dryer! I was mortified and immediately left.
When I went back upstairs nothing further was offered to me and the bill was paid in full by me. I don’t think I will be going to Petterino‘s again. This is unfortunate as I have eaten there twice in the last six weeks. You have lost a good customer Petterino’s!
This is a perfect location for the theater district. But can be busy as everyone is trying to get out at the same time. Had to ask the waiter for the bill, even though we told him up front we had a show time at 7:30. Got the bill at 7:15 and then the desert right after that. Next time will get reservations one half hour sooner. But the food is great and again, close to the theaters.
We have eaten at Petterino's several times before a concert or play. The food has always been delicious! Great service, excellent cocktails, nice wine list, cozy booths and attentive staff. I highly recommend that you make a reservation as far in advance as possible. Conversation is challenged but don't let that stop you from coming to Petterino's. It is worth your visit! Love the atmosphere of old school supper club plus all the famous caricatures lining the walls! It is definitely a classy place! Valet parking is available too.
Excellent menu. Great value for price. Love that its close to all the theaters & they get you out in plenty of time. Excellent service too. Looks like there are lots of employees & they work together to keep things flowing. Reservations suggested, well in advance if possible.
The service was good as was the food, but the manager was not good at all. A 6 person party was seated at a a4-top next to us, requirig one member of that party to essentially sit at our table, between my children and crowding my daughter out of her place. It was very unpleasant and unnecessary as there were open tables in other parts of the room. When I approached the manager to notify him of this and asked him to rectify it, he was uncaring and cavalier and took no action. His bad customer service marred an otherwise-pleasant dinner. I will not return.
Great food, service and ambiance. They have the pre-theater dinner down. We ordered from the prix fixe menu and enjoyed everything we ordered - lobster bisque, grilled calamari, trout, chicken limone, tiramisu and peppermint ice cream sundae. The wine pour was generous and our server was attentive but not intrusive.
Petterino’s never disappoints! From the moment we walk in the door, we are in heaven! We especially love dining there during the holidays. The bar is beautifully decorated. The staff is warm, friendly and professional and the food is outstanding. Petterino’s is a post-theater must for us!
We had marked this event as a special occasion, yet at no point was anything mentioned. Two out of our party of 4ordered surf and turf, after an explanation that it included lobster tails, when it arrived it was a crab cake.
Each person would have ordered very differently if that were the case.
The manager came over to offer free dessert and to ask what he could do to rectify the situation. My response was to get some lobster tails and stop offering it as a special.
We were told a fair charge would be made for the two dinners that arrived , not market price as stated in the special offer. Each dinner in my point of view was completely overcharged considering it is not what would have been ordered to begin with.
We have been coming here for many years - and in the last few, it has just been disappointing.
Looks like we will have to find a new spot for next year.
We are out of owners, and have dined here two years in a row. Food is delicious, and the service was great. The restaurant was packed. I think this restaurant is close to the theatre and they are great at getting people in and out before curtain time. We were not rushed in the least. Short ribs were delicious.
The ambiance during the Christmas season can’t be beat. The food is always good and falls into the comfort food category which is fine with me as I am not a “foodie.” Servers are usually pleasant and efficient although this time, our server never cracked a smile or exchanged any pleasantries. He acted like he had just had a death in the family which made our dining experience less pleasant.
The food was super and we definitely plan to visit again with one exception--that we have a table that is in a less noisy place. I could not hear my companion speaking due to the noise.
The ambiance and waiter were very nice, as was everyghint but the sound level.
