Pre-theatre and after work specials are available daily. Petterino's location is ideal for business lunches as well as a break from shopping or touring in the nearby State Street and Millennium Park venues. Pre-theatre diners have the option of leaving their car with Petterino's while they attend the show and can then pick it up after the performance is completed.
Need to book at 7:00 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
The Capital Grille - Chicago - Downtown
In fairness, the restaurant was very busy. However, despite being told a table was being prepared, we were seated 20 minutes late and after people who didn't appear to have a reservation were seated. We had theatre tickets so the delay made for a rushed dinner. The food which is normally reliably good was mediocre. A pasta dish arrived cold and gummy - there was no time to ask for a replacement. We've been going to Petterino's for over 15 years, but this was a very disappointing experience.
Lunch with friends before an afternoon theatre show. First time our friends had been there & they all enjoyed it. Great food & great service. Will go again & recommend to others.
14 years celebrating Valentines Day in the same booth with my hubby and we Lobe it more every year
Petterino’s is a fantastic pre show dinner spot. The ambiance has a Broadway vibe with fantastic celebrity caricatures covering the walls. Their presence will sure to spark lots of great conversations and nostalgia. We loved that they did not rush you. The food was fantastic. I loved the 5 cheese ravioli. Good wine selection. I highly recommend the tiramisu for desert. 5 stars.
Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere was very nice and the food was tasteful. Server was attentive.
Excellent! had dinner before seeing Donna Summer show.
Pre Goodman dining. The food is consistently very good... not gourmet. The menu has a dish for just about every kind of eater. The service is very fast, sometimes too fast. The wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly. What could be improved... the coffee. Portions are quite ample and the entrees are interesting with the come withs. All in all a very nice place to eat pre theatre. Nice parking arrangement with the restaurant too.
Great service and the roasted brussel sprouts are to die for!
One of our favorite pre show lunch spots
Great place to have dinner before going to see a show!
Everything was wonderful. It was very crowded and Nathan was handling a lot of tables - but - he made every one of his customers feel like they were special. He was GREAT. Kudos to the chef and servers and the front desk management - all first rate.
Great food, drinks and service. So convenient to eat at before seeing a play.
Petterino's never disappoints! Fun atmosphere, great food and wonderful, friendly service!
We had a wonderful 5:30pm dinner before 7:30pm theater at Petterino's. We sat in the small room between the reception desk close and the Goodman entrance, which we find to be quieter. We shared a salad, enjoyed two entrees (with changes to fit our preferences), and peppermint ice cream with chocolate sauce for dessert. The food was fresh, well prepared, and delicious. And, start to finish our server Dan provided amazing, attentive service. Petterino's is highly recommended for pre-theater as well as for dinner anytime.
Lasagna special was not what I thought it would be. Ravioli was very good. Our waiter Ryan was excellent!
Food was great, as was the service. I'm just not a fan of the close 2-person tables. You can't have a private conversation and have to brush the other tables to get into the bench seat.
Great service. Good food
We have dined at Petterinos many times in the past. For whatever reason the food was awful on this visit. I had the trout which I have had at Petterinos before. This time it seemed to be undercooked, cold and stuck to the skin. The small roasted potatoes were actually soupy inside. I wanted to complain, but I was very tired and just wanted to get out of there. The check-in process was chaotic with two people who appeared to not know what they were doing. I guess Petterino's was just having a bad night.
A friend and I went to Petterino's for lunch before a play at Goodman's Theatre. We ordered off the Brunch menu and the wine list. The wine and food tasted great. She had an omelet and I had chicken pot pie. The waitress asked if we were there for a theatre performance to special occasion, while she poured us water. I like that, which told me she was going to be attentive toward us during our meal. The room was full of people and so it was a bit noisy. Not a great place to have an business meeting or intimate conversation!! Nor would I bring someone with a HC Scooter there, just no room to move. My friend had to turn sideways to get to her bench seat against the wall, so I feel the tables are a bit close together. We could easily hear our neighbors conversations. She had an omelet and I had the chicken pot pie. It was a great presentation of food and the amount was satisfying. I will go again.
Great value during Chicago Restaurant Week. Portions were of higher quality and greater size than we expected. Appetizer salads were ample and dressings were excellent. Strip steak was very tasty and mahi was delicious. Side of fries served with steak should have been presented in a separate dish since they got soggy from the steak juice. Pecan pie a la mode was amazing -- massive slice with big scoop. Cool, pre-theatre vibe. Service was adequate, but server was not very enthused about being there. Would have expected him to stop by ask how the entrees were, but that didn't happen. That said, we're huge fans of Lettuce Entertainment restaurants and this one met our overall high expectations. We've dined here before and will be back.
Great food! Fabulous service! Great for before or after the theater!
Delicious food and great service. Pre-show dinner and we had plenty of time for coffee and dessert. Thank you.
Petterino's has good food and good service and is adept at getting us to the performances at the Goodman on time. But the banquette tables for two are much too close together, and the noise level in the restaurant makes talking almost impossible. We will continue to put up with these downsides when we attend performances next door, but would not eat at this restaurant on other occasions.
We arrived around 1:45pm for Saturday brunch. The service was great and the food was just right.
The menu choices and food were great. The service surpassed even those. I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch.
Waiter was so good in dealing with food allergies!
Our server was great- very engaging. Service was fast as we were going to a show. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and it was nice!
The customer service was great from being seated , choosing a menu item, getting excellent customer service from our waiter, and friendly employees throughout my visit .
Lunchtime at Petterino’s is always a treat. The food is great and the service is “spot-on!” Risotto is my favorite there, and of course the portions are generous and the wine flows freely.
I love this place; 1950’s feel with the perfect option of food in a good range of prices!
Pre-theater dining at it’s best. Food was delicious, wait staff asked if we were seeing a show, made sure we were served and our in time.
Great food & service! Ate there before a show & would go back anytime!
Petterinos never fails to provide great food and service. I requested a booth and I received it. I enjoyed the new menu and everyone in the party enjoyed their entrees. One person in the party enjoyed the restaurant week menu and the others had steak. All in all a wonderful meal and a great time with friends. You can count on Petterinos to be consistently good!
Always excellent meals. Enjoyed it very much.
As always, the Chicken pot pie is a delicious, comfort food treat! Service was outstanding and don’t miss the incredible strawberry sorbet- that tasted like June strawberry season.
